Very pleased if this is confirmed, and would be good to get Matt Holland back into the club - maybe an apprentice for the future. Was never keen on McCarthy in the past, but I have warmed to him in the last few years - above all he comes across as honest in interviews with a sense of humour. He can give us a bit of the Yorkshire grit that Sheff Wednesday showed on Saturday and let's face it, anyone who can send Roy Keane home from a World Cup should be able to sort out those not showing commitment. |

Refreshing honesty considering the reception he can expect from the players he is criticising until he leaves. It seems to come from the heart from a proud pro, and is the most telling thing yet said about the reason we are where we are. It also, gives me even more respect for the generous and dignified way in which PJ departed - had to go, but a true gent.
The truly gut-wrenching thing on Saturday was the way we came off second best in pretty much every 50:50 to a side that, let's face it, were second from bottom. McCarthy please. COYB. |
