A question for all the tech savvy people out there.
I'm planning a short break in France but intend to work remotely for a couple of days while I'm there. If I'm logging in to my corporate network using a work laptop, will my employer be able to tell that I am abroad somewhere?
It's great that so many of our players have been called up (ROI, Australia, Sweden, Eng U21 etc) and obviously pleased for them. But, I can't help feel that it's a missed opportunity for KMcK to get them all drilled in our style of play on the training ground.
Still, I suppose that at least some of the new players will still be with us - Johnson, Greaves, Townsend, Phillips, Ogbene :/
I worry about how long it will be before the whole squad are firing on all cylinders
I got myself a ticket with the home fans last night. Putting the result of the game to one side, I thought that it was a cracking little stadium. Just the right size for Wimbledon as a club so that I imagine it always feels reasonably full, good views from all stands, close enough to the pitch to get a real feel for the action, plenty of room, good facilities in the very clean/newish feeling stand - I was in the Cappagh stand (main stand to the right of the away fans). The home fans were friendly and chatty - didn't get too upset even though there were clearly a few Ipswich in there (tbf we behaved and didn't react too much to events on the pitch).
Wimbledon marshalls have had a bad rap previously but didn't seem to be any issues last night. Not sure what the facilities were like in the away stand?
Will definitely take a passing interest in their results going forward and hope they have another good game vs Newcastle.
Interesting to note from KM's interview that we had our own groundsmen out in Austria before and during the training camp to prepare the playing surface. I've no idea if it's normal practice or not at this level but I love how it displays the attention to detail that seems to run through everything the club does these days. Great stuff!
This has almost certainly been posted but I haven't seen it mentioned so thought I'd share:
Great analysis which made me appreciate some of our play even more (I love the bit about getting it in the mixer but how we sometimes actually move the mixer).
Fills me with confidence that KM will continue to adapt our tactics and style for the Prem and makes me think that if we continue to add to our squad with more athletic and technical players then we will thrive.
Ok, so it's a bit of a provocative title! But my question is really aimed at those who slate Jackson and Ladapo. If they aren't good enough at this level then why does he play them? Maybe he's not such a good judge of a player after all...
Genuinely interested to hear why people who don't rate them think he picks them
I'm really excited about tonight's game, under the lights at PR, proper winter weather, a near full house. And then swiftly followed by Cov at home on Saturday. Feels like we're entering the business part of the season with some very tough tests coming up - if we are top 3 or 4 by end of Jan then it will have been a good period.
I've got a really good feeling about the next 2 games. Think we'll be tighter at the back than we have been at home for a while and we'll score a few too.
That's it really, just felt like sharing. Slow afternoon at work...
I've seen a few posts suggesting that we need another striker in the George Hirst mould in the Jan window.
Whilst I would be happy to see another arrival in Jan, personally I think that we already have that player in Dane Scarlett. To me he looks to have all of the physical attributes and has been getting more minutes recently, presumably as he becomes more familiar with the role KMcK wants him to play. Am I alone in thinking that if he gets a bit more game time and a goal to his name then he will be flying?
He looks like a really exciting prospect to me. Shame that he is only here on loan and possibly/probably out of our price range.
Just watched an interesting feature on iplayer about muslim footballers and Ramadan, which starts tomorrow. Apart from our captain, do we have any other muslim players?
