Lol. I was thinking exactly the same! 6 pints before kick off is good going. Last time I drank that much in a short space of time before kick off was the play-off final and I don't remember too much about the 1st half |

I have a soft spot for Motherwell. I went on a stag do in Edinburgh during the mid-90's and we decided to take in a game. Hearts were at home against The 'Well. We rocked up on the day, bought tickets in the away end and sat among the few hundred Motherwell fans who were very bemused by a dozen English lads wearing a mixture of Ipswich, Spurs, Arsenal etc. shirts. By the end of the game we had been introduced to the pleasures of Buckfast and they were all our best friends |

I really won't be surprised if we go back for Hackney in Jan or in the summer |

Most posters seem convinced that he will play wide right. This may be the case but I'm sure KM has bought him for his versatility (like with many of our other attackers). I've only seen his youtube reel but it looks like he's played on the left and in the middle a lot too. Also, I love the fact that he is left footed but can score with both feet |
 | Forum Reply | for us to go up this season.... at 16:57 1 Sep 2025
Are you suggesting that the task has *now* become monumental because Chappers and Woolfy are leaving? I'm not sure their specific departures have affected the size of the task as I don't think that either of them were central to KM's plans. I think that Chappers is a loss but it's not insurmountable. Also, in response to your question about this lot of newbies just clicking, a significant number of posters do seem to expect it! |
 | Forum Thread | Squad transformation at 16:15 1 Sep 2025
Whilst I'm sad to see the likes of Morsy, Luongo, Burgess, Chappers and others leave, I am really excited to see the squad evolve. Most of the double promotion squad were either already here or were brought in by Cook. With hindsight, he did a good job of identifying players for the level we were at and then McKenna did an excellent job of moulding them into a team and putting an approach in place to get us up. I think we will continue to see a regular turnover of players at each window going forwards, it's the nature of the player trading model we've adopted, so we had better get used to it. Clearly there has been more turnover of players this summer than KM would have liked and it will make it harder to build the cohesion and togetherness that we all want to see but, personally, I think we will get there. Whether we get promoted this season or next and whether it's with KM in charge or not, I can't see the model changing. For me, most of the enjoyment is in the journey. The next stage of the journey is beginning and match days can't come round quickly enough - my glass is very much half full! |
 | Forum Reply | Probably in a minority of one, but not angry over Omari at 09:34 15 Aug 2025
Personally, I am not surprised in the least that Omari has chosen to move on. I believe that Forest or Brentford, but Forest specifically, will be a good move for him - playing on the biggest stage for a good manager in a team on the up and surrounded by quality players. The only aspect that I'm "upset" about is that he has chosen to withhold his services while the move goes through. I have no knowledge but I imagine that he has been badly advised on this. Once the whole soap opera concludes, I will remember his contributions in a Town shirt with fondness and pride. Good luck Omari, look forward to Town coming up against you again in the future as we continue on our upward trajectory. |

I mostly agree with this but think we may end up with only 9 across the front 4 positions due to limitation on squad size. I see the squad as follows: 3 x GK: Palmer, Walton, Button 8 x Defenders: O'Shea, Woolfy, Greaves, Kipre, H. Clarke, Johnson, Young, Davis (Townsend de-registered: Baggott out on loan) 5 x Midfield: Cajuste, Matusiwa, Taylor, Humphries, +1 (Barbrook back to U21s) 9 x Forwards: Hirst, Akpom, Azon, J. Clarke, Philogene, Szmodics, Chaplin, Ogbene, Burns (Hutchinson & Al-Hamadi transfer out) So, I could see perhaps only one more addition in CM. Of course we might look to swap a couple more out. |

Find their nest and stick a hose pipe in and flood it with water |

Wouldn't surprise me to see him and Akpom play in various positions across the front 4. This guy looks to be a natural left footer which I like |

Interesting. I sense a lot of frustration from McKenna and it sounds like MA is frustrated too. Personally, I think it is another reflection of how big the gap is between top of Championship & PL, and how difficult it is to bridge the gap. I feel like everyone is doing their utmost but a lot of it is out of our control. |

There was one header in the second half near the halfway line that I particularly enjoyed. He absolutely wiped out the Bromley player 😀 |
 | Forum Reply | I’m not sure who needs to hear this…. at 11:21 8 Aug 2025
I have a feeling it might be a game like when Leeds came to Portman Road the season before last. We were very competitive but there was a 15 min spell where they just upped it and blew it open with 3 goals. I remember thinking at the time that they had that extra quality having just come down from the PL. Hopefully we can do the same to Brum :) |
 | Forum Reply | Remember your first time...... at 13:48 4 Aug 2025
My first game was Col U. vs Lincoln City at Layer Road, c.1976/1977. I was about 7 or 8. My 2 memories were: - everytime Col U got a corner, everyone in the main (wooden) stand would stamp their feet making a tremendous racket - Col U had a black centre forward. Everytime he did anything good the crowd would all chant "snowball" My first town game was around the same time, it was vs. West Ham. It was a reserve game but played at Portman Road, I think I went with the cub scouts and we sat in the West stand. No other real memories of the game :/ |
