Winger Graham Rejoins Town on Loan
at 15:40:13

Let's see how this works out - my understanding is that he is highly rated by lots of Wolves fans - quick, direct, excellent end product - but been left behind as Wolves have recruited heavily and he doesn't fit into the new system that they play (which is possession based and less direct). None of us know how much money we have to spend and who is available - so lets just support Jordan, wish him well and hope that he adds something to our team. PH clearly likes playing wingers and whilst we have Edwards, I don't personally see either Ward or Edun as out and out wide players - so I can certainly see some benefit in having 2 pacey, penetrating flyers on either wing, supporting Jackson up front

Ipswich Town 1-1 Aston Villa - Match Report
at 21:06:17

First time seeing PH's team and some initial thoughts

1 - a number of the new signings look promising - Donacien was probably our best player and looked good, Chalobah is impressive, Edwards is exciting and I thought Nsiala showed promise as well

2 - unlike some others, I wasn't hugely impresssd with Nolan - or Harrison - both look a bit lightweight to me

3 - concerned a bit about our formation - which is really 4-2-3-1 - it seems to leave our striker very isolated - to be honest, you need a striker who can hold the ball up in that formation - it would have suited Waghorn (and even Garner) more than it seems to for Harrison

4 - we also seem to be lacking a bit in midfield in terms of numbers and could get overloaded there I suspect

5 - Villa were incredibly disappointing - particularly second half - although I do rate Kodjia - physically he can play that loan striker role well

6 - pleased to have PH as manager - he is clearly a decent man and wants to play progressive football, and scout talent from the lower leagues - all things I admire. Bear in mind that we have received more money than we have spent though. Personally I wouldn't have bought Harrison and would shift out Adeyemi and Huws and bring in a much bigger unit up front - we do look like a team with big heart but not big physical presence

7- I'm looking forward to this season - we might well finish below mid table - but at least we can all see the strategic direction now - and if we get it right the rewards are possible - whereas with MM there was no way we'd ever really progress, just fight hard to standstill - PH has thrown the dice and gambled and that is so much more fun for a supporter to see - some of these lower league players might become real gems and we could witness some much needed joy back at PR

Where are Downes, Dozzell and Emmanuel ? Thought at least Dozzie would make the bench ?

Town Confirm Jackson Signing
at 14:02:07

Welcome to Ipswich Kayden - and good luck

Just wondering how much money we have left in the kitty now -we got £5m and £3.5m for Waggy and Webster (not including top-ups) - and have also trimmed the wage bill with Bru, Hyam, Gleeson, McGoldrick, Carayol - overall 6 players out and now new players in (£1.6m for Kayden, £2m for the 2 Shrewsbury players, £700,000 for Harrison, £700,000 for Edwards, Chalobah/ Roberts/ Fulham lad for free) - so that works out about £8.5m in and only £5m out ? Should be a decent sum left to get an extra centre back i.e. Tilt ?

Dozzell to Learn Extent of Injury This Evening
at 14:56:33

Fingers crossed for Andre - this was set up to be his big breakthrough year so it's potentially very sad
At the game he picked up a knock a few minutes before he suffered the game ending injury - can't help but wonder if he did some damage in the first incident - we left him on and then he does this - - could have Brenna a serious error of judgment by our physio team

Rangers Striker Waghorn Set to Join Blues
at 10:30:20

Really like the fact that we are looking to bring in permanent signings - and spending some money at last - although it's worth noting that Rangers fan's don't rate this guy at all !

http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/topic/309560-waghorn-off-to-ipswich/

I was at the game on Saturday and was seriously impressed with Downes - and Garner for that matter (whom Rangers fans also don't rate at all !)

Town Sign Leicester's Lawrence on Loan
at 17:44:23

Obviously we should welcome Tom and wish him the best - and all hope that it will at least encourage a more progressive/ attractive style of football (rather than hoofing it up to big Daryl up front....). Not wishing to rain on anyone's parade - but my Leicester friend was distinctly unimpressed with Mr Lawrence on the rare occasions he saw play - he described him as having had high expectations (with his Man Utd credentials) - describes him as very forgettable although notes he may have improved since then. Even thought he was one of the "naughty boys" caught out in Thailand along with Pearson's son - basically they had high hopes and didn't feel like he was ever going to make it with them
Let's hope he is proved wrong....

Boss Watches Marriott and Woking Win
at 10:17:34

I was there - and it was a freezing and foggy night. Bumped into Mick - who looks very thin and gaunt now !
Unfortunately Jack had a bit of a shocker to be honest - didn't get much service but had a great chance to head the opener and headed straight at keeper and then had 2 good chances in the 2nd half - first choosing to pass when he could have scored and secondly when his touch let him down.
Looked like he was trying very hard to impress Mick and it just didn't come off - but his touch was wayward all night
Apparently he trains with town all week and just comes to woking pre games ?
Met a fellow Ipswich fan at the game who shared that with me !
Don't think mick will have been wildly impressed with what he saw unfortunately - by some distance his least impressive outing - but hopefully young jack will learn from this

Marriott Nets Two in Woking Comeback
at 08:24:04

Went to see Jack play yesterday - he was by some distance the most effective player on show - was man of the match (he has been that both times he has played for Woking) and even had the small crowd singing "we have jack Marriott, we have jack marriott"
Impressions - he is usefully quick - but doesn't blast past players - the standout thing was just how often he was involved - he probably had over 10 chances and scored 2 - intelligent use of the ball (often passing to better placed player), seems genuinely 2 footed, and plays off the defenders making intelligent runs into space. He did seem totally knackered after 60 minutes - so not sure about his stamina yet - and he doesn't seem great in the air - but completely bossed the show at this level.
Talking to other woking fans - they totally love him - and rate him after 2 games as one of their best ever players !
If he can half as effective at our level we have a player here

Fairly happy about this...

Can anyone tell me why Sky are not showing any ITFC live games this year ?? Pretty much all the other Championship clubs are being shown - some a number of times - and we are completely left out. Frustrating for those of us who live a long way from PR.

Mohsni Holding Talks and Keen on Joining Town
at 20:34:53

Trust me, this guy will be worth his weight in gold if we actually like sign him - he sounds fantastic, someone who can easily make the step up from lower league football -according to southend fans, he was real class, a game-changer for them but lacking in consistency - he can play in a variety of positions - but best of all he is a complete nutter, who allegedly attacked his own teammates with a pair of scissors when he thought they weren't putting the effort in, routinely repeatedly punches the turf during games when his emotions boil over, often wasn't let on the team bus by his teammates due to his looniness, and basically either won the game single-handed or had a total meltdown and lost it - class
the southend fans have turned on him after he announced he wouldn't play for them again via his facebook account....and refused to turn up to training
get him in on a short term deal to see if he can cut it - but i predict great fun with this guy !!
