OliveR16 - and why not have faith in the management? They’ve improved every single aspect of the club during their tenure. Back to back promotions in the context of modern day football was an extraordinary achievement, albeit clearly a step too far too quickly. So what would you do? Stick with the same players that popular as they are couldn’t cut it in the top league? That’s madness - doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Woolfie and Chappers are not technical, physical, fast or athletic enough to cut it in the top league - or did you not notice that? Decent in the Champ but a lot of Champ clubs are now investing big and we have to do the same. The club are brave and ambitious enough to recognise that to progress they need to upgrade; faster and better, more physical players. Others that are still at the club struggled in the prem but thankfully we have a top, top manager and coach who is capable of identifying the players be can work with and improve; young and hungry. Yes, it will take time but my money is on a successful outcome because every shred of evidence suggests that they know what they’re doing. |

Sad because as fans we are a sentimental bunch but how about a little more faith in the club to make the right decisions based on what they know and see on a daily basis. There are so many factors at hand here that not one single one of us are aware of. I for one salute the club for being decisive, ambitious and brave. It’s called seeing the big picture whereas so many of the posters on here are looking down the wrong end of the proverbial telescope. |

I understand the sentiment but I have total faith in the management that got us to this point and because they see the bigger picture whereas a lot of fans don’t/can’t. It’s hard to be critical of players that we all like - especially homegrown ones - but anyone that considers that those that have been allowed to go will take us to the next level are blinkered in my humble opinion. I was surprised about Chappers because at this level he has the ability to produce the unexpected but the fact that he’s in his last year and the need to make the cut to 25 exacerbated this plus with Chappers no doubt wanting to go to Pompey and almost certainly realising that game time will be limited given the new recruits, I follow the logic. The club have made a brave policy change to concentrate on young, skilful and athletic with physical attributes in the right places. This summer has been ruthless and the changes will take time to gel but I back the club’s judgement and believe that we are in a better place for the future as a result. |
 | News Comment | Town Confirm McAteer Signing at 11:49:59
Everyone’s entitled to an opinion but those that are criticising the deal (almost certainly from an uninformed and one dimensional perspective) ought to take a few mins to read the comments on various Foxes forums and they might well change their tune! |
 | News Comment | Broadhead's Wrexham Move Confirmed at 19:45:38
In flashes he could be awesome but then he could look lightweight and uninvolved. In certain respects I’m sad to see him go because I always expected something might happen when he came on but with a questionable injury record and the likelihood that he would be a big part player - not forgetting where he was with his contract - I think this is a stellar piece of business. That said, with an injury free run of games and regular starter I think he’ll do well. Wrexham have recruited really well IMHO and will be around the top six for sure. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Hutchinson Didn't Feel That He Could Contribute Today at 06:30:05
Some of what is written above is a load of tosh and shows a remarkable lack of understanding. I admire the clubs position and KM articulates it well. He’s a town player, we have our valuation and a buying club must put up or shut up. Simple. What’s the alternative? Allow one of the little darlings to move on under their terms every time they throw their toys out of the pram - which I imagine is quite often in this entitled world we all now have to live in. Hutch and his agent were happy to take his new extended contract when it suited them and a contract is a contract with obligations to and from both parties. From Hutch’s point of view, of course he wants to play in the Prem and his greasy money motivated agent will be right in his ear no doubt telling him how important it is to his burgeoning career - and no doubt his bank balance. KM is handling it well because in the event that he stays then he needs to manage the player and that means having a relationship. He’s showing empathy to what is a young and inexperienced and no doubt easily manipulated asset whilst supporting the admirable position of the club. Further he’s not bull sh****g the fans with hogwash about fake injuries etc like certain other clubs do. Personally I’d say to Hutch - and for all we know it might be exactly what we are saying - give us one more year - if we don’t go up you can go and if we do then we can have a discussion because by that time everything could look very different. Obviously if a club meets our valuation in the meantime then that’s another matter. My impression is that if the deal doesn’t happen then Hutch is the type who’ll get his head down and get on with it. Broady the same - albeit I suspect that one is a matter of waiting on another new player coming in as he’s clearly not central to KM’s plans. As far an any disruption to the camp is concerned, I think this is sending a really clear message that this ownership doesn’t roll over for anyone because it’s quite clear in the business side of the game these days that if you blink then your f****d. |
 | News Comment | Ex-Town Defender Tuanzebe Suing Manchester United at 12:52:09
Conveniently forgetting that Man U paid him for six and a half years for roughly six appearances a season! And it’s hardly as if they gained out of it! Then we give him his chance to make a comeback and he disappears at the first opportunity. We shouldn’t expect any more or any less from modern day footballers but I think it’s a bit rich that he’s now suing a former club. Don’t get me wrong, I like him as a player but strongly question his values. |
 | News Comment | Delap Release Clause £30m at 12:33:06
It’s fun to speculate but at the same time it’s a waste of time as not one of the contributors has a clue about what’s really happening and most certainly no insight into the legalities. All this pontificating as if it was somehow our money is laughable. Be grateful that we have sound super smart owners and what will be will be. |
 | News Comment | TWTD Now On Bluesky at 05:26:23
Last time I checked this was an ITFC news site ……and ‘er’ that’s it! Frankly I switch off when it all goes off piste but those who denigrate others for having a view that’s different to theirs and can’t resist having a pop or aiming insults because it ‘offends’ them ought to grow up and in an ideal world post their so far as I’m concerned unwanted drivel elsewhere. |
 | News Comment | Town Issue Statement on Morsy Armband Stance at 13:57:41
What a ridiculous society we live in today when we have to justify or explain an individual’s lawful rights or choices like this for fear of causing offence. |
 | News Comment | Skipper Morsy Signs New Deal at 11:40:25
Can’t speak highly enough of him as a man and a player. The best thing Cook ever did for the club and to be fair to him he said at the time what a fantastic signing he would turn out to be. |
 | News Comment | Burns Misses Latvia Trip Due to Injury at 11:57:38
As much as I like Burns there’s a strong argument to say that his place was already under threat from Hutch. Same goes for Clarke. |
 | News Comment | Cambridge United 1-1 Ipswich Town - Half-Time at 13:01:56
Mostly agree with @soham but think Harness is looking sharp. Takes up good positions and has a good eye for a pass. Young RB looks slightly out of his depth getting out muscled but fair play for effort. Not quite clicking after a promising start. |
 | News Comment | Simms Close to Coventry Move at 21:21:01
I think if we really wanted him we would have got him. Interesting that the Mackems didn't bid. The talk was that he's lazy. |
 | News Comment | Luongo Signs New One-Year Deal at 16:19:10
Great news about Luongo - let's hope he doesn't lose his obvious hunger now he's got a contract. Wilson Wrexham bound - you heard it here first! 😂 |
 | News Comment | Holden to Speak to Bonne Over Town Social Media Likes at 17:46:03
Not a good look for MB but it's clear that he's Town through and through so I don't think it should be shamed. I've never rated him that highly as a player but he seems like a good guy. I don't know it anyone watched him after the final whistle but he went straight into the crowd and gave his shirt to a young lady in the disabled section which was an exceptionally kind thing to do. Fair play to him for that and sad that it's not getting the same publicity as a media like but I guess that's the world we in. |
 | News Comment | Dyer Interviewed For Swindon Manager's Job at 15:13:06
Good luck with that. Listened to him on TalkSPORT yesterday and much as I loved him as a player at Town, he wouldn't impress me as a manager and that's putting it mildly. |
