The principle is fine. The club needs to make money from its food outlets. It's the deceit about the rubbish that gets peoples goat. Just be honest and straightforward |

Unbelievable. Four league games into the season and already nonsense like this. Give it a chance to build and make a mature judgement over after the Boxing Day and New Year games. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: No Lack of Effort at 11:32:13
Six points off the play offs and thirty points yet to play for. I wonder why some people want to throw in the towel already. We can still be contenders and there is always a team that makes a late run into the top six. We have come a long way since last season. There's more to come and I think we can be just a tad more positive. |

It's the lack of urgency to get into the danger zone that is so frustrating. We must have missed dozens of chances to cross the ball this afternoon. Someone would have been on the end of one of them for sure. We just pass the ball endlessly until we lose it. More route one please! |
| News Comment | McCarthy Looking to Add to Defensive Options at 18:51:23
If Mick is so happy to have Hunt in his squad why doesn't he play him more? He's a real livewire and makes things happen, as proved against Blackburn. We could have more than done with him against Preston. And at least he knows which way the opponents' goal is - something a bit lost in quite a few moves we saw on Saturday. |

More invented tabloid nonsense . They just make it up to grab attention. Ignore and move on |
| News Comment | Bookies Stop Taking Bets on O'Neill at 11:05:14
Totally agree with tractordamage. This was just one media hype. MM doesnt walk away from contracts and Marcus Evans would never have released him anyhow. Mick is our man and now we need to focus on getting up that table. Oh and does anybody else think that MM has a striker up his sleave, like Ebanks Blake when he gets fit for example? He and we all know we need another goal scorer as well as McGoldrick |
| News Comment | McCarthy Speculation Continues in Irish Press at 14:49:30
Unbelievable, utterly baseless tabloid nonsense. Without logic, sense, reason or fact and I am astonished that The Daily Star and the Irish bloody Mirror are seen as remotely credible by anyone. I'll offer just one of a dozen possible rebuttals. Why exactly would Marcus Evans let a manager go who at last offers him a chance of the Premiership status he craves after three attempts at trying to a country he could buy buy a dozen times over for compensation that wouldn't pay for his golf club membership???. ME will have nothing to do with any of this and MM doesnt walk way from contracts. Period. |

Great game and fine win but what a pity so few of us there to see it. I wonder how many people who are not online didn't buy a ticket when they would have done so with a call to the friendly folk in the ticket office. A false economy that could cost the club dearly. |
| Blog Comment | Where Is Our 20-Goal-A-Season Man? at 15:56:50
Long had concerns about our firepower up front. McGoldrick certainly has plenty of goals in him but who else? Murphy just knocks one in here and there and has never been a consistent scorer. It's a bit early to tell but surely MM has money in the bank if we need another DJ type. I would also like to defend Matteo Sereni. Great shot stopper. He was let down by the collapsing defence in front of him and made a scapegoat by Burley. He did well back in Italy and at one stage remember him rated as number three keeper for the national team. Oh and a great song too, and we don't have many of those at Portman Road! |
| News Comment | JET: Me and Mick Didn't Click at 13:03:39
I think we all agree he's had a bucketload of chances at a number of good clubs. Somehow though it always seems to be someone else's fault when it doesn't work out. Wish him well as I always enjoyed watching his unpredictable style. All the same eight goals in 70 games wasn't exactly good value for our money was it. In the end maybe he's just a good Division One player who flatttered to deceive a few people before he was finally found out. |
| News Comment | Redundancies as Town Restructure Ticketing at 17:54:20
A poor decision and my sympathy to those who have undeservedly lost their jobs. You were friendly and helpful and the best part of the club staff. Online won't find you the seat next to your mate or get the best view for the kids so they don't sit behind some giant and can't see. Online registration is a nightmare and I would wager ticket sales will fall as a result of this ill judged decision. Another blow to the supporters. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: As Good As Anything I've Achieved at 15:59:16
How Wolves could sack this guy is beyond me? But they hounded him out and supporters calling for his head forced his leaving the club literally by the back door. That could never happen at ITFC. Now we we have MM and TC, and you could argue there is no better managing team in any division - and much better than Hodgson who was paralysed into inaction as we were being overrun by Montenegro. MM woluldn't have stood for that as he has shown for us this season. Change the formation, substitution if needed. ACTIVE management. That's what we have now and next season we can look forward to at least play offs |
| News Comment | Chopra: I Don't Have to Leave at 11:01:40
It depends if his conscience will allow him to take his 18k to sit in the stands every week. From what we have seen of him since arriving he doesn't seem to have one |
| Blog Comment | A Lesson in Football Support at 14:46:54
I agree. How can it be that we are owned by a guy runs a big hospitality company and yet coming to see the team play is such a soulless experience? Anyone who went to the recent Brighton game for just one example can see how other clubs deliver way above us when it comes to giving supporters a good, all round match day experience. Portman Road has this terrible old and tired feeling about it these days. There doesn't seem to be a match day philosophy at all - to properly advertise the club and try to attract people to the ground by providing a much better all round experience. Results on the pitch obviously have an influence but employing someone with a bit of vision on how to market the club and beef up match day would certainly make a difference to the dwindling numbers coming through the turnstiles. It would certainly do alot for those of who loyally shell out for tickets week in week out. We maybe also have a bit more money we would spend at a match given a bit of incentive. If they could fix the half time catering it would be a start. The service is so SLOW. In the Bobby Robson Stand I queue for most of the break for a pint when I would have two if they gave me the time. Money like that I am willing to spend on food and drink and elswhere is just thrown away. Fix just that and I'd wager we'd easily pay for a good PR / Ents person who could light a fire under the club and totally transform the limp affair we have to put up with at the moment. |
| News Comment | Town Topic: What Could Improve Matchdays at Portman Road? at 11:04:56
Half time should be a showcase for local talent . Singers, bands, dance groups, gymnasts, acrobats, display teams etc would surely give their eye teeth to have an audience that size to showcase their talents. I remember we had an opera singer a few years back who did nessun dorma and brought the house down by whipping out an ITFC scarf at the climax. Brilliant. Please please can we have a big screen somewhere so we can see the game on TV and watch highlights at half time. So many other clubs have this. Between the Cobbold and Sir Alf stands seems the most obvious place. And the cheerleaders back of course. The more the merrier. Maybe ones who can use both their arms and legs at the same time this time around And get rid of Singing th Blues. Nobody does And that stupid gladatorial music when the teams come on. Ugh. And more efficient service at the bars at half time. It just takes ages and some of the staff are so slow it is painful. The club loses money because of this. Very often I just don't bother going |
