Read on Popbitch (below) that Man City have cut ties with the very dodgy 8xbet.com. Isn’t it time that Town did the same?
>> A Good Bet << Silver lining for blue Manchester
It would take a hard heart not to laugh at the current travails of Man City.
A league collapse, uncertain Champions League campaign and many insider voices predicting guilty verdicts and a relegation coming up.
But there's one bit of good news. They are no longer sponsored by 8XBet. Until recently the Man City website proclaimed that "8Xbet is the official betting partner of Manchester City in Asia and provides a truly authentic online gaming experience to users globally."
But with ties cut City can't really be linked with the scandal exploding around 8XBet. The brand suddenly disappeared from view, almost over night. Websites shuttered, social media channels inactive. Staff and customers at a loss. Literally as well as figuratively.
So many people asked, so I’ve set up an online petition to let the club know how many fans loved the gig-style artwork that graced the first few covers of Town’s programmes this season.
You may not have loved all the designs individually, but this fan-led concept is such a great one, and I hate to see our club kowtow to sponsors and partners when there is such a simple solution to the problem — simply ask the illustrators to remove any logos from their artwork.
I understand this might seem kind of petty and irrelevant, but I just saw this as a rare occasion of the club putting a foot wrong (recently anyway), and they should be called out for it, especially when there is such a simple solution.
Further to my previous post, many people asked so I’ve set up an online petition to let the club know how many fans loved the gig-style artwork that graced the first few covers of Town’s programmes this season.

You may have noticed that the excellent Call me Ted artwork was relegated to a gatefold at the back of the programme vs Everton.
It was thought this was to do with it being the "No room for Racism" fixture, I wrote to the club to clarify.
Turns out the sponsors didn't like them and they won't be on the cover again. In my opinion having their logo on an innovative cover design has far more value than appearing on a generic, standard design. Once again money talks (but has no taste).
…where you can purchase my own ITFC themed work (including the TWTD commissioned Sergeant Pepper poster), available online here: https://www.comehitherdesign.com/shop/
In terms of Suffolk artists (being biased) I‘d recommend my father! He’s a printmaker (etcher) of over 50 years, with much of his work focused on Suffolk. Available from our gallery, or online direct from him. Here is his latest work of Suffolk based subjects … https://www.glynnthomas.com/product-category/england/suffolk/ His work are original, hand printed works — not digital reproductions. You'll be owning an original, limited edition piece of art, not a mass-produced poster or print.
The shirts and mugs, do feature a darker, royal blue. The letterpress cards and prints needed to be a paler colour, so when the red and blue overprint results in clearly a different colour. Too dark and the overprinting effect is lessened…
Yes, as I recall @philTWTD and I presented a copy to George Burley at the time – he looked at the cover and smiled, turned it over, looked at the back cover and threw it back at us!
I used to design TWTD last century when it was a printed magazine.
I’ve recently set up an online shop selling hand-printed greetings cards and art prints. These include a reprint of my classic Sergeant Pepper poster from ’98, as well as a new "McKenna’s at the Wheel" design, which is also available as a t-shirt + mug, as well as an (also letterpress printed) greetings card featuring the lyrics to Edward Ebenezer.
If you’ve not seen my stuff before I would love to hear what you think…
Did anyone else notice (or think) that the free kick that Morsy took quickly to lead to the goal was actually kicked by the Accrington Stanley defender who was trying (and succeeding) in kicking the ball away? Happy neither of the officials saw it that way!
I created this hand-printed greetings card last year (available from Come Hither Gallery – shameless plug), and was thinking of creating something similar using the lyrics of "Every Saturday we follow! We cheer the boys in blue, etc…"
I need consenus on the last line … I’ve read on here that it be "Allez, allez, allez" or perhaps "Ole, ole, ole".
However, we have no French or Spanish connection, so would anyone be offended if I used "Oyez, oyez, oyez"; instead, the styleee of a town crier?
I’m not convinced it needs changing either – it was just a fun exercise, and when I looked at the current design in more detail I noticed it had some issues that could probably be improved, which could be done without anyone actually noticing, so I thought why not make more changes?
