Another 3 points which is the most important thing.
A scrappy old game and possibly one that we may have only have got a point from during last season. Shows that th team is always improving.
Sears was excellent again, constantly being a nuisance.
Murphy still needs time to get back into things and looked undercooked still compared to rest of squad.
ANN was fantastic once again. Such talent on the ball and a great outlet for us.
But it was the 2 subs that turned the game for us. Pitman and Mcgoldrick. Pitman's ball control and aerial ability really surprised and impressed. Matched Murphy on form last season. He will be great for us this season.
And Mcgoldrick is coming back to form.
Hope that Fraser is fine and will be okay for Saturday.
What a start to the season! One more signing would be the cherry on the cake.
Was also v impressed with their CB Keane, came through United academy, he looked v solid. |

Great win against tough opposition. Lopez was excellent on the ball and Matias was a big threat too.
Yet we played really well and won well too. Bart looked really good and solid in goal.
Douglas had a fantastic game in the centre of the park, especially seeing as he got booked after 5 mins!
And then Sears, AMN and Fraser were just fantastic. Fraser had a quiet 1st half and didn't see much ball but as soon as he had it at his feet he was brilliant. Wonderful assist for the 2nd.
Sears took his goal incredibly well and worked his socks off all afternoon.
Best moment of the day was Wednesday fans singing 'Off the football league we go' before conceding an equaliser right after! |

Well that's a huge shame. You should never come away from a game with 0 points after scoring 2 goals. The defence has let us down today, which luckily is a rarity and hopefully it stays that way for the rest of the season. You always have to beware the team with the new manager; Bolton and Birmingham have also proved this. But still, we really should have got at least a point from tonight's game. In fact I would have been thrilled with a point.Glad that there is a break now for the squad so that Mick and the team can address this 'mini slump' and hopefully have them raring to go for Wigan. On a plus side Murphs got back to his scoring ways and Sears got his first for the club. I know Hunt got 2 for us against Millwall but I really think Sears should start ahead of him. |
