Of course it's ok to have favourites, but when those favourites are picked to the detriment of the team, that's when the problems starts.
Just as an example, Mick has always said that if you play well you keep your place etc. So how come parr can play 1 game, score a goal and get dropped for the next game? Again foley, played a blinder score a goal and got dropped, think he has only played once since then? Correct me if I'm wrong?
Ok Douglas has scored a couple of goals, but not recently, and his performances have been dire of late but still gets picked over other players. If that's not favouritism I don't know what is?
Ok we don't see them in training etc etc, but we do see them for roughly 90 mins on a Saturday, and we can only base our opinions on what we see. And lately it's not been very good. |

How can conceeding 8 goals in 2 games be considered as playing well? its not just Gerken its the cemtral midfield and defence that need sorting.
Feel sorry for the likes of Parr, hes probably sat at home thinking "What the bloody hell do i have to do to get in this team?" |

We lost to a very organised side today. I'm not concerned, we're only 5 games in and this is our first loss! It had to come at some point. Onwards and upwards! We have a very good squad this year and if we just get behind the team, I'm sure we'll do better than last season! If you want to blame someone, blame Brighton....they turned it up we didn't. |

If we had played a lower table team or a newly promoted team, and Mick had started Emmanuel, i wouldve understood him being dropped for the slightly bigger game against Wednesday.
However he we didnt, we played Brentford, who finished higher than us last season. He played well, shakey start but ultimately a cracking debut.
Micks mantra is play well and youll keep your place, give me a headache for selecton etc. Now not saying that He's not gonna play for us this season again, but why not give it 2-3 gameswith the same back 4 to see how it works? If it doesnt its still early enough in the season to sort it out.
Im no expect but i can still see 'weak points', 'targeted areas', from the stands. So that means all of Micks staff can too! Like others have said, its not about hating the player, i feel sorry for them! playing out of postion and if/when something goes wrong they're the ones we hang out to dry!
Playing a balanced back 4 with players in the right positions can only benefit the players and the team!
Bit of a jumbled point with no real substance but thats my opinion........

So disappointed! Was really impressed with the start of the season thought we had turned a corner, but now things seem to be slipping back a year or so. Yes we are in the top six but for how long? We should be still competing with the top 2 not worrying about mid table again! We play better when we go at teams as others have posted but we have Mick who at the moment is stubborn with team selection and tactics, what we need right now is for him to revert back to just after the Norwich game and get the fearless approach back! |

I don't consider myself a 'true' Ipswich fan by any means, I've only been going this season!! But i will say im a huge football fan! I went a few times with my mate a few games towards the end of last season and enjoyed what I saw, so I decided to invest in a season ticket. Having watched town play some quality attacking football in many games this season, it beggars belief that when teams like Bolton/Blackpool come to Portman road we can't play them off the park! Nobody likes defensive football, it's not in our nature to like defensive football! It's not pretty and it's not attractive. Do I have a point to make? probably not, but I would say that until there is a more attractive style of football and possibly a more attacking intent from the manager then there will be a lot of grumpy people a few more empty seats at Portman Road. |
