Disappointed? yes. Surprised? No.
We were always due a bad patch at some point and this could be it. I feel we will also lose to Leicester, but I’d rather lose to these big clubs when it doesn’t impact our league position.
We are second, and will still be in the new year. The other 3 teams in the top 4 were all premier league teams last year while we were league 1. And look at us mixing with them now.
Yes, today was disappointing but to be honest, if we were offered 6th place now, all of us would take it. And I’d still hold my head up and be proud of what the team has achieved this season.
The teams around us will drop points in the new year and our fate is still in our hands. So let’s put today behind us, not have too high expectations for Boxing Day and we go again against QPR and get our season back on track.

Just wow!!! As we are approaching the quarter point of the season, I am so happy.
20 points clear of the relegation zone. 11 points clear of the last playofff place.
8 points clear for an automatic spot.
We sit second. We have beaten the team currently 3rd. We have beaten the team currently 4th.
Although I still believe Leicester will be run away winners, I know we can compete for promotion.

Being at home, and knowing this is the last chance for automatic promotion, Barnsley will be up for this and I would not be surprised if we lose. However, if we do lose, it still plays into our hands as Sheffield Wednesday will be under immense pressure to prevent Barnsley from catching them.
A draw will be enough for us, but a win all but guarantees our promotion.

Barnsley 6 points behind us. They can't afford to not win on Tuesday as it's the only hope for them of auto promotion. Even a draw doesn't suit them. They'll come at us and hopefully will leave gaps at the back because of it.
If we win, then it's pretty sealed for us. After todays game, I now have full confidence in winning on Tuesday!

I do like KMck. He was just what we needed after the abysmal Cook era. He steadied a sinking ship, and installed confidence back in the supporters.
Unfortunately, his inexperience is now showing and I feel he has taken us as far as he can. Best to change him now while we still have a chance of automatic promotion, and still allow KMck to leave with his head held high before the fans turn against him. |
