ONE win ib eight is relegation form. For God's sake wake up in th first half. the number of own goals that we concede is criminal. The defence is too brittle. Try the long ball occasionally for a change. Dump Jackson. He is not up to mthe task.

The best thing waas the interview with Wark and Burley at half time. Now there was quality. Our central defence is ponderous on the turn and we have no cutting edge. All the pretty football is no use if we cannot score. . Please acquire two strikers this week or the season will fizzle out.

We are clearly in need of one or two quality strikers to get us promoted. The home hates are impressive and the away support admirable, so the paymasters must dig their hands inn their pockets to give McKenna the necessary funds. Yesterday we dominated possession, shots and corners but could not find the net. Jackson is NOT the answer.

4 wins in 20, and no shots in the second half yesterday are very worrying stats. What is Cook's solution? He'll probably sign another 16 players.

I live in Cheltenham and could have predicted that Ben Tozer's long throws would cause trouble. Did Cook do any pre-match preparation against this? End the pain now. Knock on George Burley's door and beg him to come back.

No club worth its salt should be happy with a 0-0 draw in which we got one shot on target. And stop using the injury list as an excuse. Does anyone remember the likes of Holland, Clapham, Stockwell, Magilton and Venus being on the treatment table so long ?

Enough is enough. We are producing nothing but lacklustre performances and are even struggling against lowly teams like the Shrews. 20years ago we would have been matching sides like Arsenal and Man U. For God's sake Lambert GO.

Enough is enough. I agree with Timmy H - it's time ro get tough with Lambert, whose record is awful (at least with us) and appoint the Burley/Holland/Butcher team. To be lower in the table than teams like Fleetwood and Wycombe is a disgrace and a betrayal of a once-great club.

OK, we had a few chances, but for Lambert to claim that we dominated throughout is simply papering over the cracks. The stark reality is that we were playing a poor team which was fourth from bottom and that we haven't scored from open play in four games now. The midfield lacks any sort of genuine creativity. It's not just a question of money, though I have no respect for Evans. We once enjoyed great and loyal service and team spirit from players like Simon Milton, Micky Stockwell and James Scowcroft -quite apart from home-grown stars like Kieron Dyer, Titus Bramble, Darren Bent, Darren Ambrose, Richard Wright, etc., who cost us little or nothing. It's a question of good management. Lambert is so joyless and it shows in the way the team is now playing. For God's sake appoint a manager who looks as if he is enjoying the job.

I weep for the once-great club that once boasted Beattie, Mills, Butcher, Burley, Muhren, Holland and Wark. There is currently no leadership at any level and the brittle nature of the current team cannot be disguised by increasingly anodyne and cosmetic bluster from Lambert. Can anyone explain what O'Neill actually does ?

When fans leave in droves before the end, you know you're in deep doo-doo as a club , and not just on the pitch. Mu mind goes back to a 0-5 home defeat to Liverpool, but then we were playing a class team, not an average third tier side. I cannot forgive Evans for the club's total failure to bolster the team in the transfer window and I fear that our better young players will, as always, move on.

I agree with almost all the comments on a very poor show by Town. We are clearly far too fragile when faced with top six sides. One simply doesn't have any confidence that Town are going to string a series of wins together and anything short of a victory against Peterboro will be unacceptable. Why on earth can't Marcus Evans put in some really worthwhile investment in the almost ended transfer window ?

I'm getting heartily sick of the rubbish coming from the mouths of the management and coaching staff. They all talk a lot but never seem to accept any personal blame for this disgraceful winless run. What on earth does Lee O'Neill actually do as 'Director of Football Operations' ? I don't remember John Cobbold or Bobby Robson needing such help !!

One bright spot yesterday was the return of Teddy Bishop. All we need now is another ten like him.

Ipswich Town 0-0 Gillingham - Match Report

I would much rather be saying nice things but yet again disappointment is huge. A 0-0 draw at home in front of 22,000 fans is a disgrace, made worse by zero shots on target against a very average League One side. There is insufficient creativity from midfield, no punch up front and indecision all round. Give the kids a chance - they can't do worse, and what crime did Wilson commit to be left out so often ? Lambert's recent record of no wins in six and one win in twelve is appalling. Worse, he injects little or no spirit in the team. How were Gillingham allowed to dominate the first 25 minutes ? Yes, taxi for PL. Bring on Burley and Butcher.

PL's recent record with Town is no better than that of his toxic predecessors. He talks a good game but, at present, seems incapable of putting any fire into the bellies of his team. Oh for a player with the spirit of Richard 'Bam Bam' Naylor. Remember him in the 2000 Play Off final at Wembley? I am getting heartily sick of PL's bland post-match summaries. He never seems to admit that he is one of the problems.

I am increasingly depressed by the utter lack of momentum and spirit on the part of PL and the team at the moment. Given that Garbutt is scoring goals at the moment, is there a case for playing him up front ? The present 'strikers' can't hit a cow's backside with a banjo at present. As all fans are saying, stop this ridiculous rotation policy the elbow. And put some genuine zip into the team by giving players like Modra and Georgiou a real chance, instead of tired and uncreative figures like Skuse.

To be fair to Lambert and the team, only two defeats by mid-December is pretty good going and deserves some praise. BUT - as many other fans are saying - we're going nowhere if (a) we don't start playing for the full 90 minutes (b) if we don't drop this absurd policy of one up front (c) win some more home games,

Its about time that Norwood stopped posturing and whinging, and got on with doing what he's paid for. 5 bookings at this stage of the season is not helping his cause. Older fans might remember James Scowcroft, who generally go on with the game, contributed important goals, and didn't seem to pick up injuries too often. Norwood would do well to follow his example. Forwards who can't muster a shot on goal at home are about as usefu as an 8 quid note !!l

I agree with the majority here. Three observations. 1. For God's sake play more than one up front, especially at home. Lone strikers give the opposition encouragement. 2. Buy a striker who can stay fit for more than a week. 3. Find a team selection that IS capable of exerting pressure throughout the game. At present we look far too brittle for automatic promotion.
