Dont their fans know that they need to boo him and moan just for being named on the teamsheet? That's the way to motivate and inspire him. |

I don't know how this could be. He's an excellent manager. You don't even need to ask him, he'll tell you. Must be that he's inherited yet ANOTHER bunch of players incapable of understanding the process. Poor Russell. |

I agree. I'm just not sure how many on here have the same measured view. McKenna swings from being the Messiah to the Anti-Christ about 20 times a game depending on the latest excellent pass or piece of poor positioning. |

So at 3.03pm Team A are the strongest and most superior when they score and go above Team B, oh but Team C have just got a penalty at an unrelated game 200 miles away which would take them above A and B. Let's go live to see if Team C are the strongest and most superior for a few minutes...in August. |

If McKenna is as heavily involved in all this summers transfer decisions as he should be, he's being incredibly brave. He's basically backing himself to achieve, with the squad he has now, at least the same as he did with his 'first' squad. Otherwise what's the point in ripping it apart? Its Ferguson-esque in it's clinicalness, and if he can pull it off then he'll be right up there with the very best to have sat in that chair. |

The total absence of self-awareness is hilarious. Complete footballing irrelevance would have been staying at Norwich, not leaving. |
 | Forum Reply | Derby is massive for Clarke and Philogene at 04:40 30 Aug 2025
I was tempted to make the distinction that Philogene has shown a desire to work hard, track back etc. that Clarke hasn't. Of the two i think he offers more, but I still don't think he'll start for too much longer. Excellent option from the bench though. I just don't think Clarke is the right fit for Town. |

By the end of the international break it is likely that Azon, Akpom, McAteer, Egeli will all be fit enough to start if they aren't already. I get the impression that the pace, power and physicality of these new recruits, together with the like of Smodics, Chappers, Burns and Ogbene will see the slighter, more technical Clarke and Philogene used less and less. I appreciate you need different players for different games and opponents but can't see Clarke and Philogene remaining starters for much longer on current form. |

How about... "Don't cry for our Marcellino, The truth is he never loved you. He's left his Scum days, Your sad existence, He'll reach his promise, You'll shag your sisters" ? |

Townsend was exactly that player when he came in too, but he didn't let us down once when he came into the side last season. |
 | Forum Reply | Performance or win today? at 13:43 23 Aug 2025
From the reaction on here so far this season and most of last, only a 5-0 win with flowing total football will be tolerated. Somehow that seems to have become the expectation. |

ORβ¦ We got promoted sooner than expected with very much a Champ/League One squad. We could have spent large on Xhaka type wages, but the likely relegation that followed would have seen those type of players leave with little re-sale value and no progression at all as a club. We bought the England Uβ21 type of player, primarily for their potential development, but also with more than one eye on FFP if they needed to be sold. 8 of our starting 11 on Sunday were purchased to play at a higher level. They (plus Cajuste and Akpom, and a couple more before the window shuts in all likelihood) are good enough to get us up and will then form the backbone of a very good squad with only 5 or 6 additions needed rather than 15 or 16 if we do go up. Last year was not much fun as a fan, but has hopefully provided a really solid foundation for many years to come. |
