Dyer Joins Burnley
at 20:44:05

Can't believe some of the comments by so called fans on this site. It's probably a simple case of a better/richer team with premier league failure money being able to offer significantly more in wages than we can. Unfortunately that sort of thing is only going to get worse with the increased revenue from the new TV deal so we're going to have to get used to it. Having said that you can't blame the player. If anyone is offered double the wages to go elsewhere he's going to take it.

Portsmouth 2-1 Town - Match Report
at 22:00:41

I think you're possibly seeing the reason why some of these players aren't playing week in week out. We were dreadful at home in the first leg and only looked dangerous when Sears and Fraser came on. It doesn't sound like tonight was much better. Credit to the 800 or so who travelled to Portsmouth for a second string 11. Nothing taken away from Portmouth though, I think they deserved it over the two legs.

I thought Forest had a transfer embargo? Are they allowed to take players on loan still?

Tottenham Eyeing Cresswell

blueblood66, are you not aware that a football club has other costs other than transfer fees and wages for players? As Phil said, that money was almost certainly used to help keep the club going. Phil, I apologise on behalf of some of the people you have to respond to. You probably just want to hit your head against a brick wall sometimes.....

Runaround, Wigan won the FA Cup last season and got relegated so there is no guarantee that a cup run will tie in with improved league performance. I'm disappointed we lost but I can't say I'm gutted about missing out on Forest away.

Price on McCarthy's Head
at 17:21:07

Algarvefan, do you not think that MM wants to play positive, attacking football? I believe at Wolves he had a few players called Ebanks-Blake, Jarvis and Kightly who liked to attack sometimes. Every fan wants to see that brand of football but Mick took over a poor team, slowly built by Magilton, Keane and Jewell, that was doomed to relegation. Mick had to start by stopping Ipswich conceding too many goals, which, when compared to Jewell, he's done well so far. I'm not sure there are too many managers that can take a team from relegation certainty to top of the league in one or two transfer windows with what seems to be a tiny budget. While Ipswich are by no way a top team in this division I don't think we're a million miles away from challenging a bit further up the league. Hopefully a couple of new additions in January will help. Also, while the motives of our elusive chairman are an unknown, I think every fan should thank him for keeping the club in existence. One more thing, I'm so bored of hearing this rubbish about Ipswich being synonymous with playing "a certain brand of football". I want to see Ipswich winning and being successful, and perhaps if we made Ipswich a nasty team with some steel that others dreaded to play at we might pick up a few more points, not one which has lost 17 points this season from winning positions.

Reo-Coker Talks Set to Begin
at 12:57:10

Cotton Eyed Joe:
"No thanks. Out of the nine games he has started we have won 2 drew 2 and lost 5. That my friends is a very good reason to get rid".

Can you conclusively prove that 5 defeats were all his fault then? In case you had not noticed there are 10 other players on the pitch! It staggers me that certain players at Ipswich can do no wrong (even when they are playing poorly) and others can do nothing right. Grant Leadbitter was the same story! He seems to be doing pretty well with the Boro now but got rotten treatment by our 'fans'. It seems that unless the players run around like Kuqi (who also did very little positive work in his loan spell but ran around like a headless chicken) they are deemed poor players. I saw NRC against Villa last Saturday and I thought he played well. He kept things simple, passed well and rarely gave the ball away. He might not be a player who can't play 90 mins week in week out but he's a very useful player to have in the squad. Anyway, I think Mick knows better than all of us, don't you?

Clegg: Undersoil Heating Beyond a Championship Budget
at 13:06:08

blueblood66 - Marcus Evans didn't get as wealthy as he has by just "coughing up" at everything he ever wanted/needed. Ipswich have a budget and unfortunately we can't afford undersoil heating at the present time. Considering Ipswich have had very few abandonments due to frozen pitches over the years I would say it is not a priority. Spending the budget on loaned centre backs is the priority, otherwise undersoil heating will be even further away on a League One budget......

Jewell Slams More Calamitous Defensive Errors
at 19:35:55

Jewell, I think you're very good at identifying the problem, we can't defend! However, what you struggle to do is find the solution. Surely out of all the teams in the English football leagues you must be able to find two centre backs and a right back who can actually defend? I know its easier said then done. To be honest, I don't know who would actually want to come to Ipswich at the moment, unless we start paying insane wages, which I don't think is a good idea. You've got ten days left to sort it out, otherwise I fear League One football beckons, and I don't think we would do what Norwich did and get successive promotions. I'm getting fed up of going into work near Stoke every Monday and being the morning joke. Please sort it out!

Town to Receive Rhodes Windfall?
at 21:25:44

To H32, you're saying all those that doubted him should eat humble pie, but he has scored goals at League 1 level, not Championship or Premiership. Do you remember Beckford who not so long ago was scoring goals for fun in League One and has since failed in the Premier League and last time I checked he wasn't doing too much for Leicester? You may have aslo forgotten that we sold Wickham for £8M plus, which may reach £13M if all the clauses are triggered. Maybe Keane and Clegg saw Wickham as the better prospect and decided to sell Rhodes to benefit Wickham, in which case their decision was justified as the fee for Wickham was much greater than anything that Huddersfield will get for Rhodes. If he comes into the Championship and scores 10-15 goals between now and the end of the season, and maybe 20+ next year (in the Championship) then maybe the club will have to admit it made a mistake in letting him go, but don't lecture people on reading up on football before seeing how Rhodes does at this level. Another question you might want to ask yourself is why was Huddersfield the best option he had? When Wickham was in his last season at Town we had rumours of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Sunderland etc etc scouts watching him every week. We didn't get that with Rhodes, maybe because many of the other managers couldn't see the talent that you're talking about. No disrespect but I won't be taking advice from you over what you think the latest promising young talent is.
