It is right that the Club pay the Council the rent they owe and the club should have just paid up rather than try and get out of it.
In the end the Labour run council had to be prepared to go to court to get the money. In the end the Council allowed the club a longer time and that saved the cost of a court case.
Now we have the Tories asking that deal to be ripped up, but it is only part of their plan to cut council tax - 3% (which is about 18p a week) there other plans are further redundancies of staff and the most attrocious item is to get rid of the HEARS service which provides an alarm service to our senior residents- so go on Cavendish Blue, vote Tory- just hope you never grow old! |

Back rent is money owed to a council and is peanuts fwhen you think of player wages and what we got from Sunderland for Wickham.
Love the club but we should just pay up and get on with it, had cheap rent for years and the rent was decided on by an independent organisation.

The club should pay the rent- a years rent is what Dyer earns in 10 days!! The Back pay is also low but is a sepaertate argument - I am sure the council could agree to pay less. It is not just the Football club that is in this position, local Scout groups have also been threatened with back rent on scout huts and unlike the football club don't pay out a years rent in 2 weeks wages.

I was at the game and Town were poor but!!!! We won the reserve Premier League the year we were rtelegated! The other team to dominate the reserve League - and also relegated were Derby - don't read too much into it, Eastman, Luca and Healey, trial player from Spurs played well plus the young sub Carson. Player who did not do himself any favours in from of Roy- was Lambe. |
