Feeling a bit emotional watching the footage the Town media team are putting out, the video with the players really drives home what an impact Sam has made on this football club. It has left me reminiscing on what a brilliant relationship this has been for both parties. Across his tenure and in particular the two promotion campaigns he was immense at driving standards on and off the pitch, driving the club forward through his tenacity and dedication. It is impossible to put into statistics how much extra that gave us. His leadership qualities were critical but he was without a doubt our most important footballer across the two promotion seasons. An absolute colossus in the middle of the park, game after game in the championship I remember being amazed at how dominant he was both physically and technically. He was vital to how we wanted to play and his consistency was astounding, 8/10 every single week. Without the signing of Sam in August 2021 we would not have been playing top flight football last year. Sammy has equally profited from the relationship however and Ipswich have given him the best years of his career. At risk of becoming something of an EFL journeyman before signing for Town he has gone on to captain back to back promotions, get named PFA Fans Championship Player of the Year and reach the top flight. He now finds himself making millions of pounds in the last years of his career, setting his family up for life. This was a match made in heaven and has given all of us memories to last a life time. Thanks Skip. |

Certainly our failure to sign the right keeper has hurt us but that can happen when every signing needs to be perfect, especially the keeper. We probably should have addressed the issue in January. Another massive issue that in our last few games is our forward players, technically gifted as they are, are struggling with decision making and trying too hard to make an individual impression. Completely at odds with what got us here in the first place. It’s not over, but probability suggests we will go down. I think we stand a good chance of returning soon and hopefully can learn some lessons from this season. |

Almost exactly 100 miles to Portman Road, never have I looked forward to seeing the A14 more. Hope everyone has the most incredible day. |

Some of the worst defending I have ever seen in that half. Boro look very threatening and will probably score again but I think they will need to score a couple more to take anything from the game. So hard to beat Leeds in a game like this with their ability in transition. Come on BORO! |

Brain had no desire to switch off all night after that second half performance. We had that dog in us, real hunger to impose ourselves and get after them. That is the mentality which has got us to this incredible position. We have got every chance of completing the miracle if we continue to attack the rest of the season like that. |

Packed out PR every week... A young, talented and hungry group of players with a telepathic understanding on the pitch playing like 2011 barca at times... A passionate ownership group with a real sense of direction and a desire to invest... One of the brightest young managers in the country able to put together a bespoke gameplan every week all the while playing a fabulous brand of football and being a thoroughly decent bloke... A team of great goal scorers and scorers of great goals... Cup runs, wins on sky, wins after international breaks... Relatable and inspirational set of players representing the club who we can all be proud of... World famous singers pouring pints and singing in the dressing room... I wonder if this is what we were meant to be careful in wishing for... not sure my brain could have even thought half of that up. Absolute halcyon days for me as an Ipswich Town fan and I LOVE IT. |
