Championship players we could be looking to sign this summer
at 08:42 8 May 2024

Agree on Armstrong. In 2 seasons in the prem after an incredible season with Blackburn at championship level he managed 4 prem goals in over 50 games.

Seems to me to be one of those players where his level is destined to be stuck between championship and premiership

The caveat to all of this of course is if mckenna wants him then I'll be convinced

Moment of the season...

Sarmiento goal for me. Still watching it back again and again even now. The importance, the limbs, everything about it.

Having that just a few weeks after the Leif winner against Bristol City as well. Mind blowing, that moments like that were just a couple amongst so many this season.

I'm not saying I love Omari, but...

The point you make on the defensive side of his game is spot on.

Was discussing it yesterday and interesting to look back at some early comments from Mckenna in the season where he stated he felt omari could be one of the best pressing attacking players in the country. Just another piece of evidence to show McKennas own abilities to identify that and also develop the player so much over the course of the season. Kudos to Omari as well of course!

Almost poetic that our opener comes from the press from Omari and winning the ball that high up the pitch.

Would be thrilled to see him return next season

Would you rather watch a russell martin team
at 09:16 24 Apr 2024

Didn't mind Mick's football when we had a fully fit firing Murphy and Didz playing off him. Murphy in 2014/15 was a joy to watch alone. Rarely seen a striker dominate his centre half opposition as frequently and as easily and itngave us a terrific platform to play higher up pitch. Other seasons less so......

Saints looked excellent at portman Road in spells but they moved the ball up the pitch a lot quicker than any other time I've seen them this season. They were appalling last night and dreadful at their place against us though

nothing quite as soul destroying as knowing a refs ego and desire to be the main attraction will take precedent over the game

Different types of player but I'd have Morsy over Bannan all day long!

I can't see how they are arguing against that being red! (n/t)

Ludicrous challenge to make in that manner in this big a game! Fortunate he doesn't make a lot of contact with way he leads with the right foot. For me that's the only way it might have been downgraded to yellow but never going to overturned once ref gave it on field

Jack Taylor not transfer listed, JCH is

That transfer list seems to suggest some financial issues to me. To list some of those senior names in addition to expected sales of edwards and taylor would suggest some serious balancing of the books

Arsenal: Bottle Job or not?
at 08:49 16 May 2023

Indeed. City's net spend on transfers is actually lower than 9 other clubs in the last 5 years. Their mass spending ended a far few years ago now to build the squad and it is largely one or two in and one or two out now as Pep is pretty ruthless and moves players on. They will of course be paying some obscene wages in comparison. Whilst they obviously have the firepower money wise, they're just a lot better run than so many clubs.
