AI first eleven
at 15:32 5 Sep 2025

A boring Friday afternoon at work, so I asked copilot what our starting 11 would be this year, it came up with this

Egeli
McAteer. Azon Akpom
Matusiwa Nunez
Young. Kipre Cajuste Furlong
Button

When i asked why they were all new signings, it amusingly said the existing players weren't good enough to make the team.

I think McKenna is safe for now.

Don't go in August. It gets filled with Italians on holiday, roads very busy and beaches packed like sardines.

I didn't find driving much of an issue, although as I mentioned it was busy, especially in tourist spots.

Taormina is very picturesque. Very busy, but loads of places to eat. Great views. Stay waking distance to the town if possible. Etna worth a day trip.

Isola Ortigia in Syracuse is nice, and good roman ruins nearby. Noto is worth an evening visit.

In the north Cefalu has decent beach and lovely old town. Castelbuono, in the mountains, is good for something a bit different.

Had a brief visit to Palermo, seemed quite nice, but we had a 7 year old with us, so didn't do the historic stuff which is probably the main reason for going.

Cobbold Stand
at 18:58 13 Jul 2025

Sat in the Cobbold stand for the first time in about 30 years for the Sheeran gig. I didn't realise quite how much it is showing its age. Tiny seats. A maze behind the stand that's really difficult to get about when more than a few people are on the move. Women's toilets barely functional. No water in any hand baisin tap.

As a town fan it was a bit embarrassing listening to new comers to the stadium talk about their experience. Hope its replacement gets bumped up the list.

Harness released

I imagine it works in our favour to let him go. If we give him another year we might not be able to sell him then have to spend money settling his contract. I doubt he'll be offered as much elsewhere as we paid him, so even if we did sell him after extending his contract, if he didn't request a move we might have to cover some of his wages. Or there might be something in there that says he gets a pay rise if we extend. I highly doubt we're doing this just for his benefit.

With someone young like Baggott, the wages will be a lot lower, so it's less of a gamble to extend his contract.

Nottingham Forest Ticket Sales 'Profile'

I'd imagine the number of tickets going to 30+ will increase throughout the season as more people earn points. By the end of the season I'd imagine it won't be far off 100%

Marcelo Flores
at 01:05 11 Oct 2024

According to the Guardian we were in for Flores this summer. I don't remember hearing this before.

From their Next Generation article:

October 2024 update Became a fundamental part of the Tigres first team last season, scoring six goals in 25 appearances before Ipswich Town tested the waters with a bid for the midfielder in the closing days of this summer’s transfer window. Flores had been at Portman Road before joining Arsenal in 2019, but Tigres held firm in their desire not to sell their young star, who was an unused sub in all three of Mexico's 2024 Copa América matches. His younger sister, Tatiana, joined Tigres on loan from Chelsea in June.

Assuming we've actually signed him, this new lad isn't short of confidence and ambition!

"I want to be at the top. Playing in, and winning Champions Leagues. Playing at a World Cup. Maybe even a World Player of the Year Award – we’ll see."

London Pub for Coventry
at 12:39 29 Apr 2024

Hi, does anyone know if the supporters club are going to the Brondes Age in Camden again? Or know if any other pub, that's fairly central, will have the sound on for our game instead of the Champions League game and have a few fans in there to give it some atmosphere?
Thanks

The Championship table is a sight to behold at the moment…
at 12:45 4 Mar 2024

Interesting. Against the top 8 we're averaging about a point a game, from 9th to 18th we beat them all and bottom four is 2 points a game. So we're gong to end up with 99 points. One more than last year!
