It is a remarkable stat but when you have Bobby Charlton who made his debut in 1956 and played his last game in 1973 and Ryan Giggs who made his debut in 1991 and played until 2013 that’s 39 years with just 2 players
I don’t post on here much but I will be amazed if KM takes the Brighton job IMO there’s not much upside in taking the Brighton job they have hit there ceiling pretty much he might get them to 7th at a push and that would be a great achievement. His stock would go higher if he stayed here and kept us up . The one I do worry about is Man Utd who finished 8th and whoever gets that job with that squad and money to spend will finish at worse 5th KM I’m sure would deliver champion league football in his first season plus the fact KM is a self confessed Man Utd supporter as a child
I personally don’t think he will leave when he does go I think it will be to one of the big 6 and to do that he will need to keep us up this year and the progress from there ie top 10 finish the following season
Very true keno yesterday morning we needed 3 wins to guarantee promotion now a win and a true will do it and neither team we play have anything to play for
Will drink a drink a drink to Kieran the king the king the king the saviour of Ipswich town we getting promoted to the Premier league and the scum are staying down
I have no idea I just think that they didn’t want to be in the ground when the final whistle went and we had failed to make the final for the fourth year running
Did exactly that when magilton scored his 3rd against Bolton in 2000 play off semi final while all around me was carnage. The other thing I remember was people in front of me left to go home then came back for extra time
Before sky was ever thought of the first sign of making the rich richer and the poor poorer was in 1983 ironically when Thatcher was PM . Before 83 when Ipswich played away to Man Utd Ipswich would get 20% of the gate receipts and when united came to Ipswich utd would get 20% of are gate receipts. Which made it a more level playing field as Utd averaged about 45000 and we averaged 20,000 But the big clubs complained about having to share their gate money and it got changed so the home club kept all the money and IMO that’s when the first division got less competitive. Look at the winners in the 70 s Everton Arsenal Derby Liverpool Leeds Nottingham Forest 6 different winners in 1 decade after 83 Liverpool Everton Arsenal and Leeds won the first division title in the next 10 years and all 4 of those teams we’re amongst the best supported teams in the country
Yes you’re correct Keno 4 pens we had 2 and the scum had 2 I was in the same pen as you . We always had 2 pens when we went to carrot rd . Back in the day the north stand had 4 pens but the scum only ever got to fill one pen we always had the other 3
Not very good with faces Keno especially ones from 47 years ago but I do remember the police escort to the ground an all the houses with smashed windows and windows boarded up . Man Utd had been there the week before and pretty much ran riot through scum land you can go on YouTube and see 1 Man U fan on the roof of the Barclay stand and fall through it
Remember it like it was yesterday my first game in the Barclay stand as a 13 year old 1-0 to town Whymark the scorer to put us top of the league. Beattie had his accident the next day which was Easter Sunday.
