| News Comment | Lambert Expresses Transfer Frustrations: It's the Way the Club's Run at 22:15:44
I just hope the either Evans reads all these post's or one of his minions draws it to his attention . Whichever way you try to interpret P.L's reasoning it remains that their clearly exist's cause for concern. It is now six pages long and the depth of feeling is there for all to see. he needs to either pay up or sell up! It has gone on for too long. |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Norwood Signing at 07:52:03
It is early days of course, but I get the feeling that it is starting to knit together. Another two smart signings in the areas that are patently obvious, and it is possible that there could be genuine reasons to looking forward to the forthcoming season. |
| News Comment | Chambers: Big Pre-Season at 07:11:46
The saga over Luke Chamber's fitness to continue as a central defender rolls on and on.When he was used as a right back he was continually exposed by his lack of pace, and the same applies now. He may well have other qualities that make him a trusted and loyal servant at the club, but the one that is the most important to the club and ultimately to the team is his footballing ability, and that is the most important factor. He is primarily paid to do that job.I think back over many years of support and recall the defensive pairings that we have had, most of whom acquitted themselves very well in performing that role. It is a must be sorted before that start of the forthcoming season, and if there is not a candidate among the younger players then we need to buy one as a priority. |
| News Comment | Middlesbrough Targeting Waghorn at 17:39:09
This guy must not be sold. During the course of a very dismal season, he was one of the few reasons for hope. At the end of the day, money will be the final decider, but for once can common sense prevail, and this approach be firmly rebuffed |
| News Comment | Skuse: Exciting Times Ahead at 15:52:42
For the first in a long time I am looking forward to the announcement of the fixture list. As other posts have commented, McCarthy did leave the nucleus of a reasonable squad, and to give him credit, some of his loan signings were exceptional. On the other hand, there were a few who, for sometime, were, clearly, not up to the job. It is not the time to name these individuals because we all have differing opinions, but it is fair to say that those fitting this category were consistently identified. One assumes that Brian Klug and his team will have an input in briefing Paul Hurst when he arrives, so hopefully those potential weaknesses will be dealt with. |
| News Comment | Hurst Tight-Lipped on Future After Play-Off Defeat at 16:22:19
As much as I would like to see a management team of Burley and Butcher, Evans will not even consider them. Why, because with their experience and background he would be intimidated by them. Neither man is a 'shrinking violet' and I could see the relationship between both parties, souring very quickly. |
| News Comment | Ross: I'll Listen to What Town Have to Say at 14:12:53
This guy has a good feel about him. He is obviously very ambitious which is what we need to start with. His player management skills have obviously been a feature in the fact that he has been able to turn St Mirren around in a relatively short space of time. And he also recognises the need to relate to the fans by keeping them (us) on side. I hope the phrase 'out of small acorns big oak trees grow' would become apparent and for the first time in a very long time, we would have what we always wished for! |
| News Comment | Hyam Reveals Town Exit at 07:40:42
This is a good decision by the club. It is time to be realistic about the future and whether you approve or not there are other players who do not match up to the efforts required to make the team truly competetive. |
| News Comment | Sherwood in Contention for Town Job at 20:55:21
A lot of encouraging repair work has been undertaken in the last few weeks and now is the time to build on it. Marcus, you are being watched very carefully and the wrong choice will undermine the current status of the recovery. Rid yourself of the 'flash Harry' relationship and if you have to resort to advice before making your choice, please take it from someone who can be genuinely relied upon and not someone who appears to have a self interest in promoting those who are closely connected with him, Frank Lampard aside! |
| News Comment | Knudsen: McCarthy Leaving Has Effect on My Future at 19:39:33
My personal selection of players who we own, who should be shown the door at the end of this season. Chambers, Skuse, Hyam, Bishop, Mc Goldrick, Bru and Knudsen. Sears I feel sorry for. He should be given another chance under a new manager. Of those suggested for departure, some are clearly not up to it and others are so injury prone that they are an expensive luxury! |
| News Comment | Milne: Manager Search Well Under Way But Be Patient With Us at 14:10:28
I have watched Frank Lampard's post match analysis on Match of the Day, and I have to say, very humbly, that his all round knowledge is awesome. Obviously a very intelligent young man who I feel could make the transition from player to manager with ease. Worth a punt? |
| News Comment | Updated: McCarthy’s Future to Be Clarified "Well in Advance" of Early Bird Deadline at 13:58:56
The shambolic way that this once fine club is being run is a disgrace. It is time for those among us, who really care about it's future, to stay strong. The carrot has been hung out in terms of season ticket renewal, therefore an opportunity exists for the waiting game to be played. Birmingham City looms, who will have been revitalised by Gary Monk so I do not fancy our chances on this match. As has already been suggested, the displeasure displayed by those who really care, can be demonstrated at the Millwall match by making their absence felt by the management. |
| News Comment | Hull Match Off at 13:05:57
Just watched Football Focus on the Telly featuring Tony Mowbray, Manager of Blackburn Rovers, currently in the top spot in Division One - if only!! |
| News Comment | Legendary Striker Phillips Dies at 15:22:14
I am proud to say that I was able to witness that era as a supporter. Halcyon days which I happily recall, but at the same time tinged with sadness at the passing of a legend. |
| News Comment | Middlesbrough 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 12:43:01
Well said Minneapolis! Two steps forward and then one step backwards. The pattern is well-established and has been for a very long time. The BBC commentator covering the match for Final Score, yesterday, described the tactic's as ten defensive players behind the ball! Add to that the central defender, who according to one fan who was at the game, hoofed the ball out of defence 11 times. I can remember the days when we had central defenders who could pick a cultured pass out of defence to great effect. |
| News Comment | Iorfa Fine But Smith and Adeyemi Remain Sidelined at 08:02:26
What puzzles me is that there must be some of the players who are intelligent enough to realise the failings of some of their colleagues but because of a Svengali type hold that MM has over them are reluctant to voice their opinion. |
| News Comment | McCarthy to Make Changes as Blues Face Owls at 15:25:07
StirlingArcher, May I commend you for keeping the faith. For the resilience you clearly display you need to be awarded a long service medal! I wish the situation were such that I felt that I could stand beside you. I have supported my team since the days of Sir Alf Ramsey and during this time there have been 3 purple periods in terms of the club's achievements and others of a lesser category. Around 4 to 5 thousand supporters have voted with their feet, myself among them, having had their patience worn thin by the senior management of the club working to personal agenda's that are clearly are not to the benefit of the club. As supporters, we were, in a sense, spoilt by the high standard of the football were were privileged to witness. This factor is allowed to condition the way we feel about the current situation, and even you must accept that it does exist. The saying goes that there is no gain without pain, and my thinking is that it will not be resolved until there is a change of Manager or even Owner and Manager. This is why i have not been to the ground since the start of the downward spiral last year. If it were to change for the better, then I, and many others, I suspect, would be very happy to engage with our Club again. |
