| News Comment | Charlton 6-1 Town - Match Report at 08:49:22
Don't panic folks, we are just lulling the rest of the championship to thinking we're this bad, such clever tactics from MM............coughs loudly! |
| News Comment | Town Win Race to Sign Celina at 10:51:19
I'd like to think that this young lad will be a first time player, considering his experience last season with FC Twente he would be more than just a bench warmer similar to Lawrence. Good signing in my opinion, out of character for us but welcomed! |
| News Comment | Foley Delighted to Join Town at 13:35:56
Always happy to welcome a new player to the club even it is as many suggest a back up player and one with experience. However, it does amaze me how a club like ours why we fail to invest some real money in players that may help propel us into the premier league. We were promotion hopefuls last season and again look to be promotion hopefuls this year, unfortunately though hopeful is all we will ever be if we don't delve into the clubs deep pockets. Free be players as cover I can accept but no investment suggests to me that some are happy playing season after season in this league, the longest serving championship side club, not the greatest record to have! |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Little in It Other Than the Goals at 19:00:15
Well, what a disappointing match that was. Before the haters say anything I was there. We had no midfield, Bru and Chaplow completely ineffective. We didn't show any class and I can't believe I'm going to say this but we resulted to the long ball. I have never criticised MM but in the last few games we look short of ideas and I predict a slip outside of the top six. I hope I'm proved wrong but after today's display I don't have much confidence. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Wonderfully Rewarding at 18:38:37
After what I thought could be a real sticky spell for Town with games against the top 6 teams a few weeks ago; how refreshing is it to be sat at the right end of the table. 10 points from 12 is a fantastic return especially against the opposition we've played. Nice to be the only one in the office being able to enjoy the Monday office banter! Carry on MM and the boys and fingers crossed we are still in the mix at the end of the season. |
| News Comment | Ambrose: Plenty of Years in Me Yet at 14:16:31
For once I'm having to take the negative stance on this one, yes he is free, probably not ridiculous wages however, released by Birmingham who didn't exactly fight for the right to stay in the league last season begs the question is this the answer to our creative problems, strength in depth and all that but just feel that we will only manage a mid table season. That said, welcome back Darren, really hope you prove me wrong! |
| News Comment | Cresswell Expected to Complete Move Before Weekend at 15:46:09
Terrible decision especially with the transfer fee muted and the current climate......Jake Livermore to Hull for 8m so would at least expect 4m minimum for Cresswell! Still been a valued player for us and hope this is another stepping stone to a decent club after West Ham. Best of Luck Aaron. |
| News Comment | SEB: Good to Be Here at Last at 08:35:03
What a refreshing statement, "best manager I've worked with" haven't heard that about an Ipswich manager for a while...........welcome aboard SEB! |
| News Comment | Wellens: Town Players Don't Care at 20:23:13
I very rarely comment on here but alas I couldn't help myself. This situation has been coming for years, you only have to look at the results over the seasons and the same issues related to this once great club. I too find Richie's comments refreshing whether they are for presonal gain or not, as for blaming Henderson on goals conceded we have shipped goals for 3-4 seasons, we have always cried out for decent defenders, as for strikers we as just miles off the pace. It is a defining moment for this club and can't help agreeing with some that a fall from our pedestals would be welcome to rebuild and to take out the trash! New manager from a lower league, new start, less expectation I think would see us quietly crawl up the league....................lets hope! |
| News Comment | Jewell Confident of Making Signings at 12:51:31
Just read that Shay Given is prepared to drop down to the championship, if this isn't a plea for regular football I don't know what is, let's get him on loan......who knows what may happen? |
| News Comment | Town Closing in On Austin Signing at 14:34:52
Roy Keane............this is what real management is all about, perhaps you should take note. Looking forward to seeing the completed deal. |
| News Comment | McParland Disappointed by Fabregas Comments at 12:03:14
Laughable! Read this comment on SSN this morning and was quite disappointed with a quality player such as Fabregas. The one thing that these top teams don't teach players is to accept defeat gracefully, yes it isn't nice to lose to lower opposition but to disrespect a team that clearly out played them is just sour grapes. I can only hope and pray that we out perform them again in 2 weeks just to prove a point to the niave and immature comments that are bounded around. Bring on Millwall, lets get this show back on the road! |
| News Comment | McParland: Players Have to Believe They Can Upset Arsenal at 12:08:53
step up, I'm sure the lads will, chance to impress the new boss! Still I can't see us casuing an upset with our strongest squad never mind the depleted squad we currently have......don't mind losing to a quality team, just the opportunity to see some decent football would be great COYB |
| News Comment | Manager to Be Unveiled at 1pm at 11:56:55
lets put it this way a change is as good as any.........Keane had his chance, his real downfall was his lack of respect for the fans! We don't like losing, no team does but just to see some attractive football would be a great start! Who ever does come in to this once great club............I wish you the very best of luck! |
