whosroundisitanyway I see. As I mentioned, it was the size of the crowd I remember, but it was years later that I worked out it must have been the Cup game that I'd been to. I would have been oblivious to the prospect of trouble, and by the time I started to go Town away games (late '70's/early '80's) the hooligan element had started to calm down. Saying that, I still had quite a few scary moments - but all totally accepted as part and parcel of football ! |

Mmmm - that looks interesting. The Chelmsford game was my first ever Town game, and I can't remember anything about it other than being a bigger crowd then usual (I was a 6 year old Chelmsford fan then, before moving to Ipswich). It would be interesting to read what was so notable about it. However, the game I want to know more about is the 4-0 at Everton. I didn't go but remember being told that the goals were superb. My challenge to you is to find some video of them ! |

Without doubt the 3-1 League Cup win at Carrow Road - Muhren, Thijssen etc. Whenever we lose to Norwich I always think back to that game - they might beat us now and again but they have never come near to matching the standard we were setting around that time........Up Yours Norfolk |
