Sir Alf Born 100 Years Ago Today
at 17:50:22

There is an article in Daily Express with a quote about Sir Alf “not only a great England manager also a great English gentleman”. Modest about his achievements he said it was down to the players they deserved the credit. One vivid memory of my youth watching the World Cup with the naive belief we were going to win even before a ball was kicked. Thanks Sir Alf for the memories

Chambers: I Can Only Apologise to the Travelling Fans
at 08:18:20

I may be pedantic but surely the way to change the poor run of form is to have a team meeting after each match, openly discuss what went wrong and what was good. Not a long meeting only after a heavy defeat, to me that smacks of PR. Being open and honest with teammates and staff breeds confidence and support with each other, it’s called team building. This post is not a dig at Chambers, he is imo a limited defender suited to this league, he was just put up for the interview and gave honest answers to questions.

Lambert: Were There Some Harsh Words There? Yes, But Not Over the Top
at 21:01:26

Passing not crisp enough, no passion, marking nonexistent. Some of the players are not as good as they think they are, Judge for instance. The revival starts from now on by playing the best team every game.

Lincoln City 5-3 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 19:40:28

I have not been to many games recently but as it’s a nice break from Christmas I decided to go to two games, Boxing Day and today. Watching paint dry summed up the first match, today’s was a totally different matter, entertaining goals and a good atmosphere, due to grandson organising the buying the tickets we ended up at the other end of the ground from the blue army. None of our players seemed to care as much as Lincoln, they had an urgency about them we played a more pedestrian game, yes there were a few nice passes but with no end product. They carried a threat we were too predictable, passing it around for no reason instead of trying a shot. Downes was IMO our man of the match, others should such as Edwards, feel ashamed when they pick up their wages. Without passion a player is nothing, even clod hoppers like Chambers who I am not a fan of at least seems to care whether we win or lose. Listening to Mick Mills on Saturday summed up the rotation system succinctly, if you know you will play regularly without really trying why would you play well because even when you give your best you may still be dropped for the next game.

Lambert: Evans's Comments Complete Rubbish and Lies
at 13:01:33

According to some comments on that site last season it was Lambert’s fault we were relegated and every Ipswich fan wanted him out. If Lambert has said something out of place surely it will appear in the refs report!

Do we and should we really care about this spate? It is ridiculed ex-manager re-hashing an old confrontation with an ex-player, I for one couldn’t care less.

Trialist Wilson Set to Sign

I see pre-season training has gone well for the posters on here opinions offered by some who are immediately jumped on by people with a different opinion. Which then sometimes become personal. Please all remember opinions are like arseholes everybody has one, it is theirs and they are entitled to it. Disagree with them but leave the insults of other supporters out.

No Cash Turnstiles at Home Games
at 20:01:01

Yes we are moaning, I drive over an hour to get to PR, I park to the east of the ground as it is easier to leave afterwards. In the past I could turn up at the gate and pay if I made a late decision to go with this change I will park where I normally did then have to walk to the west side, queue for a ticket, discuss with the person in the ticket options for the stand I would like to sit in, then walk back to the east side of the ground to queue up to get in the ground. If they installed contactless payment at the turnstiles I would be able to do what I did in the past. Has anybody considered what happens when there is a system or printer failure. ITFC a lesson in how to lose friends and influence people.

Will the club give me a cheaper ticket to cover the extra cost I will need to pay for the car park to queue for it.

McCarthy: I Hope Fans That Hounded Me Out Enjoy the Sexy Football in League One
at 08:08:09

I have not commented on this site for a long time, but this classy person and some posters on here have really got me enraged. I started following the blues in 1962, with all the up and downs that entailed, the excitement and disappointment that involved. To begin with I supported him as he was our manager, but after suffering his boring tactics, strange selections, ridiculous substitutions and his pigheaded attitude, I gave up going to PR. When he left I was there when we lost 4-0 to Villa and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The only problem was I had lost my true attachment to the club, even with a new manager I couldn’t even bother to attend, to begin with I would follow their progress on Sky Sports news, but gradually have even lost interest in doing that. I will of course always be a blue but thanks to him I feel totally disconnected to the team. Hopefully I may go next season but at present I am part of his true legacy. Thanks for nothing Mr McCarthy

As he is recovering from serious injury makes sense to have a short time contract, otherwise if things go wrong we could be left with another Adeyemi

Bobby Robson Appointed Town Boss 50 Years Ago Today

What happened to those who turned us down, they went to achieve sweet FA. He was and still is my hero, as Beckenbauer said, he took a small provincial club to the summit of Europe what a genius.

McCarthy: No Sympathy With Fans Who Hounded Me Out
at 08:45:56

If there was only a minority complaining about, his boring tactics, poor substitutions, his poor communicating with supporters, inability to change formation when his tactics were not working, why wasn’t he given another contract? Again people talk about the constraints MM worked under, I will repeat what I kept saying others did better at other clubs with less money, so that is an excuse not a reason. Surely if he was as good as he thinks he is Evans would have kept him! Just another point when we won our only game this match did the Swansea manager sat “Ipswich are a good team, they are in a false position!”

Lambert Set to Be Confirmed on Saturday
at 16:47:12

I haven’t commented much this season because I have gotten to the stage where football is not the main focus in my life. Some of us last season wanted a change, we got it. Some wanted a younger manager, we got that, some wanted young hungry players from the lower leagues, we got them. Before some of the signings people were talking about them as though they had expert knowledge about them. As things started to go wrong some commented that our new manager was out of his depth and he had got rid of the spine of the team, when most either wanted to leave or were considered injury prone or not up to our standards by the experts on here. Some commented we needed a more experienced manager, lo and behold we the wish is granted, are we satisfied? No some complain of his budgie connection! Should we really care? Does anybody believe he is an undercover agent, plotting with Delia and other scummers to get us relegated or is he somebody trying to earn a living in a job he enjoys doing and has proven himself capable at this level

Town Topic: Memories of The Beat
at 19:04:50

He only scored once for England but what a goal, against Scotland who had a corner, the ball broke and some England nonentity ran down the wing and crossed and there was Beattie out jumping goalkeeper Alan Rough at the far post to head in after sprinting the entire length of the field. Legend, Hero, doesn't come close to describing what I think of that man. Tears rolling when I think of the loss of the greatest!
