Evans' lack of ambition must filter down to the players, they know he won't (or can't) get the chequebook out to replace them so everyone just puts in the minimum effort to look vaguely competitive. |

Zero shots on target, nowhere near good enough really. Top sides don't seem to have a problem shutting us down at PR. |

I honestly looked either side of that season on the same website! But I still maintain you're comparing the greatest era of our club with one of our lowest ebbs, and that irrespective of price, we're not going to attract that kind of figure next season. There is way too much uncertainty over who's even going to line up in a Town shirt, let alone a guarantee of seeing good, promotion winning football next season, for people to plonk down the cash. If we get 18k average period, I'd consider that a good showing. |

I don't believe the club has EVER averaged 27,000 a season, and it isn't going to happen next season regardless of price. We need an upwardly mobile team playing reasonably good football that isn't a flash in the pan, and has aspirations of making the Premier League sooner rather than later. |

Watching Barnsley hammer Southend away with 10 men for most of their game earlier, we are going to need to be miles better in footballing terms if we want to be in contention for automatic promotion. |

I don't it's that Leicester is a bigger club than Celtic, but that the EPL is a more competitive league than the SPL, which makes it a better test of credentials than strolling to the title with Celtic every year, especially given that Celtic are light years ahead of the rest of the SPL financially. |

I guess even a with a win today, the chances of staying up were still slim. Small consolation but it is what it is. |

Newsflash: women don't treat men equally either. For the record, I work in a predominantly female enviroment, and most of my male friends ended up leaving because of unfavourable treatment compared to what some of the females were getting away with. Given psychology is one of my main interests, I'm well aware of the 'women are wonderful effect' and that gynocentric bias is far more common than androcentric bias. You don't hear women in female-led environments saying they need to give up management roles because of a lack of men. |

Sure, there is a difference between playing and managing/coaching, but the point is Lampard has proven himself in the men's game, in a men's environment. I would not fast-track a woman in the man's game over men who have greater credentials. Should women be given an opportunity to prove they can coach in the men's game? No problem, but as the OP was about whether this Emma Hayes could be a serious choice for Chelsea? Not a chance I'm afraid. |
