Can't see us paying enough for him .....unless we are selling someone . Seeing the mention about Norwood might be part of things .

ST Refund Options

Think the club have been very fair , with so many options .

The feeling of " All being in it together " would be so much better if we heard that the manager and the players that performed so poorly have taken a decent cut in their money .

......Over to you PL and players

Agreed , he won't come back here .

To be fair , we got a decent amount for him and if he was unsettled , a move made sense .

He was too busy falling over and fighting his own battles with the ref or opposition to be a vital team player

Do we really need another keeper?
at 16:18 3 Jul 2020

The rotating last season was a complete mess .

Holy had started the season well and as our own player should have kept his place . The problem was of our own making because we signed a keeper that expected to play and it's pretty certain that his parent club put pressure on us to make sure he played .

In that sort of situation , it's not a worthwhile loan for either clubs , .....it means we end up playing someone else's player , rather than our own player and any senior club loaning a player out expects them to get games .

So basically , the signing was a mistake .

What the hell is a very overweight looking Nolan doing modelling the kit , he's hardly a regular 1st teamer .

The pictures of the players are awful , were they computerised pics , surely they could do better than that

Kieron Dyer for Ipswich manager
at 19:34 23 Jun 2020

Turning round this club's rapid decline is not going to be easy .

The club is complacent , living on past glories and the players don't seem to have the fight that's needed at this level .

That is surely going to need someone with experience and who commands the respect of the players and who can also attract players to sign .

No disrespect to Dyer , but he needs to get some experience , someone like Mogga would fit the bill .

We need to wake up to the fact that the outside world no longer sees us as such an attractive proposition as we were in the past . We are shopping in a poorer league these days .

Good piece on the Star's website.

Agree PL is not a technical coach , but if that is so we either need to get a manager in that is technically wise , or PL needs an assistant / coach that is strong on tactics and formations .

Last season the players looked as if they had no idea what the plan was , whatever team was picked .

The manager has to take responsibility for that . If he is purely a PR man , we are wasting our money on him .

I'm not a massive PL fan and haven't been for a long while.
at 14:44 10 Jun 2020

I think you're probably right , but maybe a new assistant / coach might help things .

We were tactically poor last season , is that just down to PL or should we question his assistant's role in all this - he seems to spend all his time getting in the 4th official's face .

We need someone who is tactically smart and can get the best out of the players , that should be the manager , but his backroom team need to play their part too , collectively they were all poor .

Still think it's time for a change , I'm not sure he will change and the poor performances have gone on too long .

Seeing as Lambert is now nailed on to be sacked...
at 16:39 9 Jun 2020

I'm not sure Dyer has enough experience yet , but I can see the chances of Burley being involved in some capacity .

I think the penny has finally dropped today how far we have dropped ....11th in the 3rd Division with so many small teams finishing above us ..….sad times , changes have to be made …..new manager has to be the 1st step and the choice of assistant / coach is also important .

Let's hope ME acts quickly , so we can plan for next season with a new man in

Tommy was a good servant to ITFC in his time , but surely it's time to move on . I shudder at the thought of Tommy and Chambers together as our central defenders .

As you say , the club need to invest in players that will improve in value as assets .

What a disappointing season.
at 09:04 22 May 2020

I agree all 3 you mention are all responsible for the low point the club is at . In particular the manager has failed miserably to get the best out of the players at his disposable .

The question is , is this down to PL alone , or should questions be asked of his coaching team and of the players .

The team played as if they didn't really have a plan . Senior players went missing and the tactics failed against any sort of well organised team .

A big shake up is needed either in personnel or mindset of both management and players , hopefully bringing the enthusiasm of the younger players through might add some more energy into things .

at 14:35 15 May 2020

Can't they just admit it's pointless thinking they can play the remaining games , for all sorts of reasons it's not going to happen .

Fairest option looks like points per game , whether loaded or not and there should be promotion and relegation .

Never going to please everyone , but just take a vote on it …..I can't see why ITFC are wanting to play , Would like ME to come out and explain why .

Lambert is going to be here next year by the thread of hair
at 10:14 10 May 2020

What makes his record even worse is that this has been in a lower division , he simply has failed to get the best out of the squad he had .

Whether it's the manager's bad decisions or bad tactics , the manager and the coach are accountable .

He's no novice manager learning his trade .

When you look at the teams that are above us in the table it really hits home what a bad season we have had .

This close down might have saved the manager , but he really should be gone .
