He's had plenty of chances to nail down a place , but he has been disappointing

Man U were awful last night , no passion ( apart from Maguire to be fair ) , they played as if they didn't care .

They need to look at the recruitment process at the club , big money signings with big egos don't guarantee the right attitude . No team spirit or passion last night .

A skipper more interested in cheating and complaining to the ref , than trying to play football and the manager still playing a number 9 that has been hopeless all season

Faking injury to break up play
at 10:11 22 May 2025

Totally agree with you about simulation , if the ref doesn't deal with it , then deal with it retrospectively by card or ban.

Fernandes is one of the worst offenders , holding his head every time , it's pathetic and is cheating and needs to be dealt with .

Last night's game was awful , players diving all over the place

PL - 2 tiers

Just watching Burnley v Sheff U and thinking how these teams would struggle in the Premier .

The gap is massive , as we have found out . Teams of honest homegrown players are no match for the big spending clubs full of foreign players , who are physically stronger and quicker .

Next season signings
at 11:11 6 Apr 2025

Delap and Hutchinson are the ones that will go , not sure Davis is a certainty to attract Premier teams now .

The big question for Town to consider is do we sign players for the Championship who would hopefully improve in time , or do we sign players already fit for Premier . Signing the likes of Clarke and Philogene was not good enough for this season at the top level .

To compete in the Premiership , we need physically stronger , quicker players and we definitely should be looking to sign players from abroad .

Looking at the 2 teams yesterday , we looked nowhere near the level required in the premiership , whereas Wolves were full of imported talent , we still looked like a Championship team .

Teams in the Premier are packed with fast , physically stronger players from abroad .

Our problem is we need to recruit these sort of players , but it will be almost impossible to get top players like these from abroad when we are in the Championship .

Our team is made up of good honest homegrown players who have struggled to hold the stronger squads in the Premier .

Some of our recent recruitment was made with players for the championship but not able to compete with seasoned players in the premiership.

How many homegrown players did Wolves have today compared to us ?

So, team for Saturday
at 10:23 13 Mar 2025

Whoever plays up front , they need more support from other players .

Delap is having to do it on his own a lot of the time , one of Hirst's strengths is bringing others into play , but they need to offer more to whoever plays up front .

Loaning out Ali seems without a replacement seems a very odd decision , with doubts over whether Delap will avoid a ban and Hirst will avoid injury

Delap / Hirst

It's looking likely that Delap will get a ban soon for all his yellow cards , add to this Hirst being injury prone .

It really highlights the real need for another No 9 goalscorer

Corner shenanigans

Totally agree , Rimsy .

It seems to have got worse as it goes unpunished , the refs should book both players .

The amount of cheating , including diving in the modern game is ruining it , but the authorities do nothing to stop it

Faking head injuries, the cuca jump dive etc

Anyone claiming a head injury and getting the game stopped , gives enough time for VAR to check it .

The player should have to leave the pitch to be fully assessed - it works in rugby

That's a great point Reus30 , we have the manager and coaching staff that improve players , which is a real change from the past years .

The new signings , have increased in value which is great , but it also encourages them to stay and for potential signings to sign up .

How many games would the likes of Delap and Hutchinson have played if they had stayed with their previous clubs , whereas here they have improved so much and are getting regular games .

Cherry on the cake is that McKenna can see all the hard work throughout the club is paying dividends .

He's a great signing , with great potential . Have we got the option to sign him at the end of the season ?

Considering how many new players we have , they look like a well co-ordinated unit already . Lots of positives from yesterday's performance .
