Currently when you reach pension age , you stop paying NI but still liable for income tax. No reason why pensioners should not still pay NI if their income is high enough. |

This is disappointing. Know its a short career and he had to do what's best for himself and family etc etc ...but I thought he might have repaid the faith KMK & the club had in him by being patient getting him fit in that first season and signed a new contract. Would the deal offered to him by Burnley be significantly better ? |

The alternative, more positive way to look at it is that against the "17" we got 20 points (4w, 8d), Leicester 15 points (3w, 6d) and Southampton 8 points (1w, 5d) [Post edited 20 May 7:29]

Complete nonense. That does not make it misogyny. It's a bit like saying a cardiac arrest involves chest pain - therefore chest pain is the definition of a cardiac arrest. |
 | Forum Reply | Joe Hart's comment about Johnson's yellow card at 05:29 27 Apr 2025
I was surprised during the MOTD commentary for the game that immediately the commentator said 'there's no contact there, Johnson could get a yellow card' - It certainly wasn't my first thought when I saw it 'live' . I wondered if the commentary is put on after the event or really is contemperaneous ? It just seemed such a strange take for the commentator to say - or perhaps I really have blue tinged specs! |

I'm not sure relaxing PSR and encouraging promoted teams to spend even more is the way forward. I think relaxing the 2 premier loans for promoted clubs would help a lot and would be a lower cost option. I think 5 are allowed in the championship, so maybe 4 for a newly promoted club and then 3 in the 2nd season. You could also ban loanees for any club that finished in the top 10 the previous season. There could also be restrictions on how many players premier league teams could loan out , this might prevent the larger clubs hoovering up players. |

I heard the other day a commentator calling this ' horse shoeing' - played out wide then back through the defenders to the other wing - repeat ad nauseum . I, like many others find this over patient and painstaking build up a bit tedious at times. |

I think a contributing factor for promoted clubs struggling is the number of loans allowed in the Premier. Only 2 allowed from premier clubs - whereas in the championship you can have nearly half a team of loanees. Of course it's not a way to build a team long term, but it would be a low-ish cost way of getting premier experience in the first season. I'm sure the league will not relax financial rules for promoted clubs, but to allow additional premier loanees in the first two seasons wouldn't be the worst idea. Maybe 4 loanees in the first season and 3 in the 2nd ? |

It's not an unreasonable question. I think you've said the opposite of what you mean though. |
 | Forum Thread | Fouls & yellow cards at 09:22 18 Feb 2025
Following on from Kieran's comments about yellow cards I had a look at some stats for fouls & yellow cards. Ipswich are towards the top of the most punished per fouls - with a yellow card every 4.5 fouls, with Leicester & Southampton similarly placed. Chelsea are surprisingly top (3.9 - but they should start every match with a yellow card simply for allowing Cucurella on the pitch). Also surprisingly are Wolves who are bottom of this table (6.1). So it is difficult to conclude there is much bias overall from those stats. However when you look at the bookings the opposition have had in games against Town - they get away with 7.5 fouls per yellow card & furthermore when Town play away the home side have committed 8.2 fouls per yellow card and at Portman road 7.1 Which certainly does indicate some home team bias. Caveat. Of course all fouls are not equal. Yellow cards can be issued for things other than fouls. etc.etc [Post edited 18 Feb 13:49]

I did wonder if Morsy's injury was a kind of diplomatic one, to allow him to be replaced and save everyone's feelings slightly. I'll go for him on the bench next week and not starting another game unless there's an injury or two games in a week. |
