 | News Comment | Chaplin Set For Pompey Return at 15:53:46
Had a feeling this might happen (not being wise after the event!). Clearly KM won’t guarantee him minutes as the rebuild gathers pace. That said, CC has never let us down, and his commitment has been beyond reproach. Wish him well at Pompey - a proper football club. |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: There's Confidence in the Group at 17:19:52
Predictable comments from the new skip - which he shouldn’t be criticised for. But the confidence of which he speaks, and hard training ground work, needs to be reflected - both Individually and as a team - on the pitch when points are up for grabs. So far, we seem to lack drive and intensity, and a cast iron determination to win. It’s as much about attitude and commitment, as it is about training drills and over complex tactics. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Have a New Team to Build at 21:50:50
The silence from MA is deafening! When all in the garden was rosey, he was full-on; in less than rosy times the need to hear from him is probably greater. Come on MA, communicate with those whose support you need more than ever! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Have a New Team to Build at 20:45:56
Realistically the only sensible option we have is to stick this out, and believe that KM will get it right - once the transfer window is closed, and the final make up of the squad is known. Of course the here and now is frustrating, with team performances below par. KM has to address some fundamental issues, irrespective of who wears the shirt. The quality of our play is below standard. But ditching KM right now would not necessarily lead, instantly, to the place we need to be - and would prove costly, given the contract put in place last year. Appreciate, however, that patience is not finite; but taking hasty action now is probably not the best way forward. |
 | News Comment | Greaves Not Fussed By Transfer Window Noise at 08:51:45
I know it’s easy, for some, to treat player interviews with a degree of cynicism. However whilst - understandably - avoiding controversy or criticism will always be prime, most of the time they do provide insights from the dressing room perspective. I think JG has done this well and spoke with a real sense of remaining totally grounded. If there was no - albeit controlled - media presence from within the club, our criticism would ring out loud! If nothing else it gives an insight into players’ personalities. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: I'd Liked to Have Kept Broadhead at 16:23:49
The advent of greedy agents, wielding too much power; the devaluation of individuals’ contracts and players effectively holding clubs to ransome, effectively constrain owners and managers ability to act on a level playing field, where respect, integrity and honesty have primacy. The easy get out card of “well, that’s modern day football”, doesn’t really cut it. Where does the blurring of lines between those supposedly managing, and those being managed, stop? All that said, wish Broady well and thank him for his efforts on our behalf. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Found a Way to Battle For a Point at 09:33:23
We remain in flux. Uncertainty about player exits, incoming player recruitment proving difficult and taking far too long - all contribute to KM’s ability to fashion an effective first team squad, well drilled and forming partnerships essential for an effective team. Clearly, as KM highlights, much work to be done, Which, as the season’s underway,is far from ideal and leaving us playing catch up with those teams who completed their business early, and managed a solid pre-season. The other issue, perhaps of lower visibility - is financial constraints placed upon MA by Gamechanger. Something that might be affecting completion of the CA loan. |
 | News Comment | Town Not Looking to Sell Davis at 13:09:20
The eventual outcomes regarding the likes of LD an OH inevitably flag up the continued undiluted commitment of our owners. Ultimately we are a business and investment vehicle, where hard cash is the bottom line. |
 | News Comment | Ajax 'Putting Pressure on Akpom to Join Birmingham' at 18:26:20
Why do we increasingly seem to conduct incoming transfers in a manner similar to elephants giving birth! I appreciate that, with large sums of loot involved, interactions between clubs and players are often complex, comprising many moving part etc - but my goodness we do seem to take the most difficult routes to getting our targets. |
 | News Comment | Neom Linked With New Cajuste Approach at 14:42:48
I wonder if MA’s ability to operate in the transfer market has been constrained by the owners’ revised business model? Thinking back to their round robin to potential investors recently. In truth, though, it’s probably down to a complex mix of issues that we, looking in, don’t always have full visibility of - frustrating as it is! |

His preferred destination is, apparently, Spurs. Good luck with that. We must move on asap - no looking back in anger! |
 | News Comment | Town 'Willing to Pay Hackney £35,000-a-Week' at 16:56:44
Everton reportedly in the hunt. Lure of Pship football might sway player’s decision; depending on prospects of being a guaranteed starter. McBurney? Doubt he fits the profile. |
 | News Comment | Probert Leaves Town For Liverpool Role at 12:23:19
Agree that all of the recent off-field activity - financial, investment trawl and backroom staff departures - are a cause for unease. Caused in part by lack of clarity and communication from the club, both explaining across the board situation/decisions and, hopefully, seeking to calm concerns. The current drip feed of what, to some, might seem negative info, raises questions of club stability and future governance. |
 | News Comment | Burnley Now Leading Cajuste Chase at 21:02:59
Best to accept that he won’t be returning; the ‘will he won’t he’ saga saps supporters’ energy! Have to hope, however, that MA/KM have other, more substantive, irons in the fire. But agree there is an increasing worry that nothing much is seeping into the media regarding potential signings - or departures. Keeping the faith that our owners remain fully committed to funding team improvements. |
