McCarthy: Youngster Nydam Getting Stick Was Appalling
at 19:35:28

I'm not a fan of the local press but they had the decency to post a full transcript of McCarthy's press conference

Q: Was the worst thing Tristan Nydam getting stick? A minority getting on the back of a young, homegrown player?

A: I thought that was appalling and to those who did it, I think they are a disgrace. He's a young kid and he's a good player for the club.

I asked him how he was this morning and he said he didn't hear it. I don't know.

I don't think they singled him out, but they should be giving him more encouragement.

It's sad actually that he had to come into the team in those circumstances. It's sad for Ben Morris that he made his (league) debut in that.

So he's specifically asked about Nydam and he replies. Nydam had a tough half and there's no doubt the crowds reaction won't have helped. End of story.

Milne: New Sponsorship Will Bolster Funding
at 16:54:39

Agree with comments already on here the club have made a poor choice. Culturally the sporting world is reviewing the promotion of betting companies with a consensus to move away from it much like alcohol and tobacco in the past. We've got to be more forward thinking...

In terms of the value of the deal it seems reasonable. After a quick google search Watford get £3m, over 3 years, from ExPro. If our deal includes an increase for promotion it seems good value.

One Step Forward, One Step Back - Notes for Nottingham Forest
at 10:45:59

“Chambers is suspended for the game. Ipswich fans concerned about who will replace him”, “I can see a couple of traffic cones outside my office window, if that works?”

That made me chuckle on a drab Friday morning. Great article as always.

I have seen Mick interviewed on tv/ heard him on the radio and he doesn't use expletive language. Why do you choose to transcribe the comments he makes with his sweary mary hat on?

I Hate Playing Ipswich, the Risk of Defeat Hurts Like Mad - Notes for Norwich
at 12:28:30

I want to win on Saturday and get one over on them. I don't understand this fevered hatred people profess to feeling, what an absolute waste of time and energy that is. Obviously I feel physically ill when I see yellow and green together but it is a nice city and all the Norwich fans I have ever met are decent people.

Town Cut Matchday Ticket Prices
at 11:20:54

They have made a huge mistake alienating a large portion of season ticket holders and this isn't going to make f-all difference. You don't create a consistent atmosphere with people who attend a few games a season. Take your head out of your arse Evans and look at what Huddersfield did.

West Brom Youngster Linked
at 09:27:35

He is a skillful winger/forward and I would welcome this signing if true, could be another Lawrence/Fraser. I can understand and accept we cant afford to buy players of this ilk. However I also fully expect permanent signings as well and don't care which happens first.

Phil - What is the latest news on MM he kept saying at end of season he would be sitting down with ME, when the season was over, to discuss his future. Any word from the club? Any gossip you can impart?

McCarthy: Fitting Tribute to Sir Bobby
at 20:31:43

Phil, can you clarify the context for MM's remarks? What were the questions put to him and his tone when using certain colourful language? Think some on here are of the belief MM just speaks, they don't seem to appreciate he is responding to experienced reporters asking questions to engineer stories

McCarthy: Get Enough Points to Stay Up and Then Have a Sort Out in this League
at 20:23:39

I will be renewing next season. To all the fans who continue to abuse Douglas please stay away because you don't deserve to support the club.

I was there 25 years ago when we won promotion to the premier league, I was also there when we had to put up with the dross that preceded it. I was there when we won the playoff final against Barnsley and I've been there ever since....its part and parcel of supporting your team. Regardless of how I might moan about tactics and team selection I dont abuse my own team, the manager or the owner.

The comments on here about players and club staff are ridiculous at best. I don't agree with McCarthy or the owner or even the choice of pass Jonas makes but they aren't doing what they are doing to spite fans or destroy the club. Everyone needs to calm the f@ck down and get a little perspective.

McCarthy: Why Would Leicester Let Lawrence Move On?
at 12:39:52

hucks216
Cresswll, Mings, Bart, Mcgoldrick, Murphy, Berra, Wilnis, Wright, Smith, McAuley, Walters. Its true Fraser, Williams and Lawrence have been talented players in the last three years but the reality is the value of players and wages has left us behind (like many others) and loans are a relatively easy way for us to have access to players of this ilk.

Sears: First Time I've Heard That From Home Fans
at 14:03:25

It was a blessed relief the Suffolk Radio phone lines weren't working after the game on Saturday so some sense actually got spoken. Mick Mills summed it up nicely when he said he didn't think the manager was solely to blame for the performances and he said the players look cautious when in possession of the ball. He also said he didn't think McCarthy should go.

Clearly in the first half we played much better with Dids in the team and Sears found some good positions in behind the defence. Second half we cocked up defending a long throw and then panicked. In addition Rotherham defended very deep with little space available to pass the ball. That whole game is symptomatic of the league with barely any side, I've seen at PR, playing attacking passing football. The only team was Burton and we beat them two nil without playing well.

I do share the general frustration that the performances have been dour of late. However I will stick with them as it's still early in the season and with support we'll turn this around. Anyone who is on here reading the comments and thinking everyone wants Mick out well I don't believe the majority do.

Final thing, I don't get all the vitriol about McCarthy being arrogant. He's not arrogant he just says what he thinks and gives honest answers. If you don't like it….well frankly who cares.

Town Frontrunners for Feeney
at 16:34:34

Not convinced, from watching him last season, he is what we need. He wasn't consistent enough and disappeared in games. If we are going to have a player of that type I would rather he was an attacking midfield/creative player than a touchline hugger. His stats care of statbunker.com 9 games, 7 starts, 1 goal, 1 assist. Not worth a deal in my opinion

Not woeful or the end of our season. Two pieces of very poor defending but a good performance against a team who have only lost one at home. Wish he'd changed to 3-5-2 instead of bringing wood on.
