 | Forum Reply | He is not going to Brentford at 11:57 13 Jun 2025
I really don't think it's worth worrying about. Ultimately coaches / managers leave all the time. He owes ITFC nothing, both have benefitted from the appointment. I believe Brentford will have higher aspirations but if they were to offer him the job, he'd take it. |

Eh? He's more likely to go Low Prem, or MLS. He would be good for us were it not for injuries. Even if poor Norwich sides he's the best goal-to-minute striker at Champs level. The one thing he is is mobile btw, not sure if you've ever watched him?? |

Agree very little out of it, but a bit chicken-and-egg isn't it? The Academy has been demonstrably ignored and under-funded for so long, putting us behind local rivals and other clubs at Championship level. That then takes time just to catch-up let alone overtake any of them. I suspect the likes of Klug and co have then seen us spend circa £130 million on players and are wondering why £4 or £5 million can't come in the way of the academy to really enable them to move forwards. |
 | Forum Reply | Academy issues? at 07:39 28 May 2025
Ignoring the Norwich bit which is clearly going to frustrated because it's them, the focus should be on why our staff in the Academy are so frustrated and none have a nice word to say about Ashton. It is the regular problem with owners who are looking for a return though. Many of them ignore the academy. Which is fine whilst they're bankrolling the club but one day they won't be. Also, football at it's core has always had an element of enjoyment from watching one of your own. If we are successful on the pitch most won't actually care but the moment we aren't... |

Like every bloody club at this level they have billionaire owners. |
 | Forum Reply | Academy issues? at 21:25 27 May 2025
Just to backup a few who have friends / family working within the academy setup, there is a wide dislike for Ashton. Which shouldn't be surprising by the way. Anyone who's worked with him in a professional capacity will echo the sentiment that his bullish approach is great for a short term kick but it never works over a longer term. It wouldn't surprise me if Klug, who by the way has been and spoken to those lot at least twice down at Colney, is half willing to go to them to make a point. The academy is an expensive side hustle for our new ownership. Not interested in the long term potential gain as it's very hard to solidify. |

Top player but when someone only plays one season, in a dismal relegation season of complete failure, he's not going to be in the history books for us is he? |
 | Forum Reply | I’ll tell you what, at 18:46 18 May 2025
It's not as absurd as some are pointing out. I doubt it would happen but McKenna could easily be 10 games away from the sack if 23 have a hugely negative start to the season. |
 | Forum Reply | I hope McKenna moves on at 18:37 18 May 2025
Certainly think we should give him next season. But he won't be inundated with offers this summer which is a reflection on the past season. Other managers have looked quality and then fallen off a theoretical cliff. Could be him. |
 | Forum Reply | Still think McKenna is as good as the hype that surrounded him? at 18:27 18 May 2025
I think the pendulum has swung a bit and he is equally lucky to have us. The next 12 months will likely represent the most important in Mckennas managerial future. After all, Paul Lambert managed back to back promotions + survival at the top level with a 10th of our spend. He never kicked on and it's possible that McKenna doesn't either. |

Yep, and with our standing / ownership and in theory a top manager in place, an experienced DoF looking for a project would likely be very interested. |
 | Forum Reply | 30m release clause for Delap when we go down at 13:06 10 Apr 2025
Yes. Of course. It's a release clause based on the event of relegation. That people on here think if a release clause is set at £30 million it could end up being far more due to a "bidding war" is the aspect that you'd think anyone following football would have sussed by now. |
 | Forum Reply | 30m release clause for Delap when we go down at 12:02 10 Apr 2025
Out of everything the most concerning thing is how many people don't understand the standard procedure on how options-to-buy work. It's pretty clear it's £30 million. It is what it is. Delap's team will have insisted upon it. We could have possibly negotiated harder on this but with Southampton ready too, it might have been the swinging factor to us. On a related but not-specific note, I do think MA has been somewhat over-indulged on here and he's not as good as some thing - I suspect Gamechanger will have moved him on in the next 18 months or so. |

It was abundantly clear statistically we were miles off it. On par or worse than Leicester in most metrics. |

We signed Ben Godfrey in January. That was the extent of our scouting and recruitment capability in a vital window. |
 | Forum Reply | McKenna is fuming ! No more Mr Nice guy at 10:03 16 Mar 2025
Going down with a whimper. We don't need to worry about losing him, teams will look at underlying stats that are even worse than our league position. He will be great for us in the Championship so no complaints. |

If you don't understand the value of the data clubs are paying millions for every year then that's on you and I don't have the time to explain it. xG is ultimately what was behind Brentfords success. If only our club took it as seriously. |
