I have seen Shrewsbury play very compact football and play direct counter attacking football.

They may have scored a few nice goals but its league 1. I'm not sure we have the players or the necessary investment. I wanted change, I think it would of been nice to bring someone in with a different philosophy. Someone like a Lampard or a Parker with different ideas who could pass on the wealth of playing experience.

I hope i'm wrong but this appointment does not get me excited. I see a mid table finish at best.

Steve_ITFC_Sweden, I hope i'm wrong but what has he ever done? Championship is a big step up. Everyone wanted change yet Hurst looks like he will play a similar style to McCarthy. I don't know why everyone is so excited? Would of rather had someone like Lampard with fresh ideas who might turn Ipswich into a ball playing side.

Everyone of you that slagged off Mick McCarthy for making Ipswich difficult to beat and not pretty on the eye. Yet you're all over the moon about Paul Hurst? Do you even watch football? Expect much of the same next season, I think we will go down.
