 | Forum Thread | My team for tonight at 16:21 19 Apr 2022
I don't think anyone would be able to make a prediction on the starting XI for this evening, but I am going to post what I would like to see. Walton Baggott - Woolfenden - Burgess Burns - El Miz - Morsy - Thompson Chaplin - Bonne - Celina Subs: Hladky, Penney, Humphreys, Bakinson, Norwood, Pigott, Carroll Would be really good to see El Mizouni feature, I am no expert on football but every time I see him play I always think he is such a good footballer and will have a really good future with us. For him to have had just 4 league appearances this season for me is not right. |

Would be brilliant to see Burgess get it - to show appreciation for how he sat on the sidelines for such a long time and came in to the side and has fitted in seamlessly. Squad players like Burgess are critical.

 | Forum Thread | The run in at 11:19 9 Mar 2022
Nobody from 4th -10th has an easy run in. All fixtures below. Plymouth looks the worst run-in, the rest are very similar, lots of games against each. Oxford: Shrewsbury (A) Ipswich (H) Morecambe (A) Plymouth (A) Sunderland (H) Fleetwood (A) MK Dons (H) Rotherham (A) Doncaster (H) Sunderland: Crewe (H) Lincoln (A) Rotherham (H) Gillingham (H) Oxford (A) Shrewsbury (H) Plymouth (A) Cambridge (A) Morecambe (A) Plymouth: Bolton (A) Portsmouth (H) Acc. Stanley (H) Cheltenham (H) Ipswich (A) Oxford (H) Burton (A) Wycombe (A) Sunderland (H) Wigan (A) MK Dons (H) Wycombe: Rotherham (H) Fleetwood (H) Portsmouth (A) Doncaster (H) Cambridge (A) Gillingham (A) Plymouth (H) Wimbledon (A) Sheff Wed (H) Burton (A) Sheff Wed: Cambridge (H) Acc. | Forum Thread | Really good performance. Really disappointing result. at 17:15 26 Feb 2022
2 points from Cheltenham and Morecambe is a disappointing return. Performance level today was outstanding I thought, but when you need a near perfect run in - a week like that is a real blow. Out of Jackson, Norwood, Pigott, Bonne - only Jackson has 1 goal in the last 10 games. I think we can see our current struggle. |
 | Forum Thread | How quickly things can change in football at 11:09 20 Feb 2022
If you’d have told me two months ago after a miserable evening at The Valley that this squad would have developed into the well oiled machine it has I’d have told you you were barking mad. There will still be blips along the way, of course there will, but the progression we have made under KM in such a short period of time is a phenomenal. Every player to a man knows their roles, both in and out of possession, we look such a well coached side now, and it’s so refreshing to see - organisation, discipline, resilience, technical quality, all the foundations of really good sides. We’ve settled into the 3-4-2-1/3-4-1-2, and along with what seems to be excellent coaching, the squad is shining. Short term ambitions are clearly a play-off spot, but for me it’s the long term prospects of this club that truly excite me. |
 | Forum Thread | Some incredibly positive reviews of us from Doncaster forum at 23:12 8 Feb 2022
Snipped some here: “Ipswich will finish the season stronger than anybody in the division IMO. If they make the playoffs i fancy them to win it.” “Ipswich are a big club, and they've got talent all over the pitch. No shame losing to them.” “No shame in that defeat against a very good outfit.” “Ipswich very good footballing team but thought we would have more fight tonight.” “ Credit to Ipswich, played like prime Barca, we were 5/10 yards off them all time time, I’ve not seen a team at this level for a long time play like they did tonight, cracking one touch and move from them.” “ Ipswich pinged the ball around like Brazil. Thank goodness their finishing let them down or they'd have got a hat full.” “ Ipswich are a good well drilled team with a couple of tricky players.” “ Simply out classed by team who were just better organised and composed.” |
 | Forum Thread | As poor as we’ve been under McKenna - but we need points/results right now at 17:10 5 Feb 2022
Still a lot of development to be done, as I’ve said all along - we are still a little bit away from where we need to be. Harris has got Gillingham by the scruff of the neck to be fair to them, certainly got a reaction from that squad. On to Doncaster who are now coming off a bizarre result - W away at Sunderland. This league is a tough one - and throws out some bizarre results. |
 | Forum Thread | Squad now. Trimmed down nicely at 21:32 31 Jan 2022
GK: Walton Hladky RWB/RB: Burns Vincent-Young CB: Donacien Woolfenden Edmundson Burgess LWB/LB: Thompson (LOAN) Penney CM: Morsy Evans Bakinson (LOAN) Carroll El Mizouni RF: Chaplin Aluko LF: Celina (LOAN) Edwards Jackson ST: Bonne Norwood Pigott A lot better balance right now. Not as bloated, a core group of players, and should try and maintain them levels of numbers in the squad. |
 | Forum Thread | I don’t think it was a bad performance at 17:15 29 Jan 2022
But the result cuts any hopes anybody had left of the play-offs. We realistically need to make about 10-12 point up above us - that won’t happen. The result wasn’t a shock, didn’t think we’d pick up a result there, but we move on. I don’t think we were bad at all, just lacked any cutting edge. I really don’t understand why Bakinson was bought in (and I don’t think he’s a bad player), I just don’t see anything from him that I didn’t see from Harper earlier in the season. |
 | Forum Thread | The perfect away day at 17:10 8 Jan 2022
Now that was a sign that McKenna is starting to get his methods across. I thought there was more identity to our play especially in the first half than I have seen all season. The intensity in our passing and moving was the biggest difference for me, we were passing with purpose, trusting each other even if tightly marked - it was a really impressive display. I think everybody deserves praise today, but want to give a special mention to the midfield, with Morsy and Evans looking a really good pair now, and Aluko - what a revelation. We keep moving forward & looking upwards - COYB! [Post edited 8 Jan 17:11]

 | Forum Thread | We’re off and running under KMK at 22:28 29 Dec 2021
Largely wasn’t a pleasant watch, but Wycombe can bring you down to that level, and these winter months on that Portman Road pitch is never easy year after year. It will take time for McKenna to develop his squad, and I don’t think you can reinvent the wheel half way through a season. It’s foundations to build on - notably only our 5th clean sheet in the league this year. That has to improve in the second half of the season now. [Post edited 29 Dec 2021 22:28]

The Mrs has tested positive, so can’t attend today now which is a shame. Any ideas regarding any streams today? PM if you do you please. Thanks all! |
 | Forum Thread | The appointment becomes even more important at 21:58 15 Dec 2021
A manager that excites fans again, brings a lift to the fanbase and club, a jump start. The optimism from the summer has truly gone. Neil Harris has a good record, but he isn’t the man to lift the dark cloud over the club. |
 | Forum Thread | Learnt nothing new at 21:27 15 Dec 2021
We know we are woeful. We know we are in a complete mess. We know we can’t trust this group of players yet. Will take a long time to reinstall any sort of faith in this group. |
 | Forum Thread | A bit more nasty at 21:06 11 Dec 2021
I liked us being a bit more robust today, hitting the front men earlier and trying to play in the right area. I’ve seen us try to be a pure footballing side and it left us defensively exposed and vulnerable. I always like seeing a little bit more of the darker side to the game, on at the referee, a bit of spite in our tackles, a bit of game management towards the end. Whether that’s a popular opinion I don’t know, but I think it will be very good for us if we continue like that, a bit more street wise, a little bit more nasty. |
