Been critical of Philogene’s levels more than enough during his time here, so only fair and more than happy to say the individual performance from him was absolutely mind blowing - best hat trick I’ve seen in terms of quality of goals - consistency is key for him now, especially this level. Big shout out to Furlong and Matusiwa, do their jobs to an absolute tee, and it isn’t always the prettiest stuff, but some of the most important. Was good to see Leif flying at top level, flying and bombing forward, on the overlap and underlap, and less inverting into midfield, that’s playing to his strengths. Only real question marks were Hirst and Akpom, I’m not sure Akpom is a number 10, looks more like a 9, not sure he possesses that delicate creative touch in the 10 role, we’ll see. As noted yesterday, an exceptional result, individual excellence with ruthless finishing, but I still think there is work to do, and many more levels to reach for us, which is frightening. COYFB! |

I still think there are many more gears in this side. Ruthlessly clinical, individual excellence, but still think there are many levels this group can go to, which is potentially frightening. |

I thought between both boxes they looked ok actually, and the squad is full of high Championship quality. But in the clutch areas, they were absolutely powder puff, both attacking and defending. |

Truly truly awful. A genuine question, because I'm not educated enough to know the answer, but why do individuals make the crossing, France is a perfectly safe country, far from war torn? |

Two weeks post legislation being passed is probably a more realistic sentence to be fair to him. They all spout lovely sound bites, “smash the gangs”, nonsense. “Stop the boats”, nonsense. The reality is there does need to be action in this country to address illegal immigration, and I suspect the next general election will be won on that, and it quite possibly will be Nigel Farage. |

I'm not talking about her resignation here, I couldn't care less who is Deputy PM, PM or leading the countries affairs - if i is a Tory or Labour party, they are both as bad as each other, truly awful. I was referring to the difference from Farage and Rayner, ultimately one avoided tax (legal), one evaded (illegal). |
 | Forum Reply | Where's the pressure on Farage to resign for avoiding stamp duty? at 14:12 8 Sep 2025
No, but in the basic form she did tax evade, it's the non or underpayment of taxes due, due to non or false declaration - by definition she did tax evade. Whether it was an honest mistake or not, I have no idea - but it was tax evasion. |
 | Forum Reply | Where's the pressure on Farage to resign for avoiding stamp duty? at 09:50 8 Sep 2025
That's more of a personal moral issue, but if we are talking about any politician there is no moral compass, whether Farage, Labour or Tories, so it's a pointless debate. This is more of a legal and illegal debate, and ultimately Farage hasn't broken the law here. |
 | Forum Reply | Where's the pressure on Farage to resign for avoiding stamp duty? at 22:17 7 Sep 2025
I presume he does use it, although I doubt either live there permanently. But I think the stretch is here, he hasn’t evaded any tax, he’s played the game, but within the rules, as I would as well, and I’m sure many others would if they could. Ultimately he or she (either or), has paid what they’ve needed to pay as per the requirement. [Post edited 8 Sep 14:05]

Also grateful for them doing the couple of ‘big interviews’ they do during the season, I think it’s a good play and through any good or bad, you cannot knock them for their communication to the fans - it is absolutely top. Thought KMc spoke impeccably, and I still maintain he’s one of the brightest young coaches in the world, and a sticky start to the season doesn’t change that. I don’t think our business has been perfect over the last 12 months, I personally think there are things the club would different if they had the opportunity, but you can’t change that now. We have a new group, what feels like a brand new group, and generally it takes time for group to get to grips with each and the managers methods - I still think they’ll be some sticky performances ahead, but I think we will see things click into gear sooner rather than later. |

There is an element of truth to what he says, of course it’s a generalist statement and can’t be applied to everyone. But it does seem the traditional route of 1v1 beat your man and deliver into the danger zone has been phased out of the game, in exchange for ‘retaining possession’. But I still hold the thought that effective wing play is one of the most productive chance creators in football, any defender will tell you the difficulties defending high quality crosses/cut backs. |

I’m not so sure, a lot his managerial appointments, at the time you could argue cases for, I’ve always thought the club has been financially back in the market, whilst still developing the best stadium in the world, and generating a profit base for the clubs long term sustainability. I think in terms of his remit, he’s been a fantastic operator, will probably be appreciated more as time passes. |

Never have an issue with players going for the dough, we’d nearly all do it in our jobs. Probably been a £40k p/w earner, now will be over £100k p/w. Good luck to the lad, grab it while you can. [Post edited 4 Sep 22:54]

Unpopular as it may be, he’s a fantastic operator in the sports/business executive role, one of the best in the world. |

No surprise in there really ourselves, Saints and Wrexham are at the upper end, Birmingham invested heavily in L1 (our model), didn’t need to go too heavy this time around. Net we are in the green though, which is crucial after a relegation season to bridge some of the gap for the loss in revenue. The financials aren’t a problem, they look pretty well controlled, I suppose the only question is to whether we’ve got value for money over the past 12 months, I would suggest we haven’t at the moment. I'll also be with you on this. Whilst I don't necessarily think we've done everything right over the past 12 months, and I think the club would do some things differently. The one thing I have full faith in is KMc, he has my absolute faith, in even if things don't work out this season, whilst would be a nightmare, in no planet would I even consider or contemplate changing the manager. He's the man for the helm of the club, he is absolutely the right man to continue to build and develop this football club [Post edited 2 Sep 12:04]
