Kiosk running out of hot chocolate and other things despite Marcus Evans supposedly being a business guru genius and that tannoy announcement saying 'Marcus Evans: the intelligence behind world leading business' or something like that.

Deciding to go to an away game on the day.

Frank Nouble and CLACK.

Saw him in M and S recently. Wearing Chambo's clothing brand stuff.

Still, great goal against Newcastle.

When we were watching Garner throw himself to the ground to win free kicks - pretty much all we had in terms of attacking threat at one point.

I used to hope that Tom Adeyemi would get over the injuries and be fit. That was about as far as it went in terms of dreams.

We're dreaming now!

Article on Broadhead with some interesting bits on McKenna.
at 10:11 13 Jul 2024

Cheers, enjoyed that. Loved the McKenna stuff.

Sometimes feel Broady had been overshadowed recently because of the focus on Omari, transfer target talk etc. but he was such a crucial signing.

The free kick against Wednesday before half time in league one. I'm convinced that without that it could have been a very different end to the season.

And then he backed it up in champ. Will be great to see him score in prem.

Cheers. Hope they keep it the same when they put the new one up on the Cobbold. For all its limitations, have a Cobbold soft spot.

Oh yes, think you might be right. But I think initially it was the lettering on the outside that he talked about his wife noticing. Here's what he said:

Just look at it (gestures around the stadium). A couple of weeks ago, myself and my family drove down one evening. It was a good three hour drive, and we drove to the back of the Cobbold Stand.

"There was literally a lump in our throats, just looking at the size of the stand, and the tradition, the font of the writing on the stand. My other half said to me 'Whatever you do, don't get rid of that of that font on that stand, that means something.'

"When you walk around the club, you see it, you feel it. I was 16 years at West Brom and I always thought that was a club which carried a huge tradition with it, but walking around this place this morning, my word. The memorabilia, the tradition, the history, the success that this football club's had - it's just too big an opportunity to turn down, to help be part of turning this around and taking it back to where we think it genuinely belongs."

Noticed this morning that they've taken down the ITFC lettering on outside of Cobbold stand. The lettering that Ashton said his wife first noticed when they came down and that he got used as the font for all the club's promotional material etc.

You can just about see the outline of where it was on that photo.

Being cleaned do we think? Or something else?

I thought today that although I know it has to happen, will miss the Cobbold when it goes. The ground has such character and a big part of that is the age of different parts of it. Hope they try and keep that in some way and it's not a total spaceship style affair.

Those saves at Sunderland on the opening day set the tone. Whole season may have been very different without them.

Vaz was also one of our best attacking players.

Good luck to to him and thanks for everything.

Downes..
at 20:03 28 Jun 2024

Would be excellent to see him return.

A brilliant footballer with a brain. Great technical ability married with work rate and desire.

A class above in the play off games for Saints.

Bizarre that he got a few boos when he came back. Can only assume many of those from fans who came back once club started to have success again. Anyone who followed Town during the years before will know that Downes was one of if not the best player during that period despite all the challenges. Always worked hard and never gave up the fight. Was playing well below his level and so could not be blamed for wanting to secure a move. Should never have been playing in league one full stop. He played on for us when we were a complete basket case for longer than most would have done.

I remember seeing his debut in pre season against Posh in 2017. Same then as now - get the ball and look for the right pass. Always a step ahead. A humble player - no ego or showboating. Just intelligent football.

Spoke out about mental health after that period when he was overthinking things before he went on loan to Luton. Did an interview with Chambers I think? Admired him for that

Also loved that there was a bit of a devil in him. Need a bit of that. Remember when Lambert had to frogmarch him off at Cambridge pre season!!

Would be great to have him back in blue.

Made me smile just reading that!!!!!

One of KMac's biggest strengths imo. - his willingness to work with players he inherited and to see the potential.

Burgess has been out best defender.

My claim to fame.is I once saw JD and Aluko in M and S.at Sheffield train station after a game against Wednesday'. I think they both have family in London? So.were getting the train back.

I think JD might have bought some Percy Pigs.for the journey.

Would be so fitting if they or at least one of them did. Think they might be.

And yes to Walton! What commitment they all have to team.

Big Cam too. People wrote him off! Been out best defender all year.
