Reading 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 17:34:51

Just come away from the game today and although frustrated by the end result, another late 2 points dropped, I can't fault the effort and commitment in any way. The 1st half was the best we've played for a long, long time, confident, slick passing, pressing the ball when we lost possession, creating chances and keeping the ball largely on the deck. The only fault was not converting more of the chances we created, though largely down to their keepers excellent saves.
2nd half we tired and didn't have a holding midfielder to bring on which may have changed things, gaps opened and it did look like the equalizer was coming.
Paul Lambert has obviously transformed confidence and attitudes 100% in a short space of time, and with a signing or two in January we can definitely compete with this squad.
In summary, well played boys, most fans I think won't fault the team when they give 110% and play proper football as they did today.
Noone less than 7/10 but Knudsen, Roberts, Sears and Downes all excellent.

Millwall 3-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 21:20:12

Shut up all you doom and gloom merchants. Yes, we don't have the best squad, or budget in the league, but we have plenty of young talent, so let's hope PL can trust in them and give them a chance to show what they csn offer. If we go down fighring with a young team, i'll be content ans look forward to the future. Surely that's more exciting than mid table championship mediocrity again

Town Sack Hurst as Lambert Set to Take Over
at 18:17:34

So many hypocrites on here.

We wanted change from Mick, we got it in the form of a young, up and coming manager we all seemed to think was worth a punt, then it doesn't work, and suddenly 6 months later its a case of shoot the chairman and we never should have hired him!

I say fair play to Marcus for acting quickly and not letting something drag on that blatantly wasn't working.

Hurst: You Can’t Give Goals Away Against a Side Like Boro
at 11:16:27

Another poor display last night, and I'm sure I wasn't alone in scratching my head at the team put out by PH.
Everyone knew that change was needed last season, Everyone knew the change needed to be in 'style of play', and most of us I think believed that we had a ready made batch of young players that were waiting to be given their heads and give us back some watchable football.
I'm also pretty sure that most of us would have been content with a bottom third finish, 'IF' that were as a part of the new young team finding their feet and adjusting to regular first team action, whilst showing clear signs that the potential was there and we were heading in the right direction.
So how have we all been so blatantly mis-sold here?? (Marcus included I reckon).
Did Paul Hurst not promise us, or at least indicate to us, that he was looking to utilize what we had and get back to a team that would make the fans return with a smile.
The starting XI last night included Nsiala, Donacien and Nolan, all recruited from lower leagues and looking like League 1 players at best. (Jackson i think deserves time as he had nothing to work with but long balls 8 foot above his head). Add to that, Jordan Graham and Freddie Sears, nether of whom look remotely interested in giving all for the cause, Gerken in place of the league best player, and we've half a team that wouldn't do damage to League 2, let alone the Championship.
Instead of those, we have Woolfenden, Nydam, Morris out on loan, we have Downes and Dozzell on the bench and the likes of Danny Rowe playing well every week in the U23s and not even getting a bench slot.
One or Two 'quality' signings, ie Edwards and Chalobah would have been great to add into our squad, but instead PH has dismantled the good thing he inherited and bought poorly to replace.
I'm afraid its clear to see that the manager is out of depth in his decision making. He had a huge chance to turn this mess around and has somehow made it worse. We need to correct this sooner rather than later with an internal replacement that knows the brief and will stick to it.

Updated: Webster Set for Bristol City as Clubs Agree Fee
at 10:38:57

I can't see how people view this as 'sole destroying' ! It's a shame to lose any decent player but a new manager must be able to bring in new players and that for a club like ours involves selling first. I was very impressed with Luke Woolfenden away at Reading last season and see him as a natural replacement in waiting. Webster promised much as a ball playing centre half but didn't really set the world on fire and as a defender, he's a bit weak and pushed round I've felt. I think 5m is sound business if a chunk of that is spent on other areas, ie a decent winger

Hurst: Doig Big on Setting Standards
at 18:57:24

Surely the key point to what style Hurst has played in the past as opposed to what he's going to play now, is the players at his disposal. We have a talented young set of players that are capable of playing good, attractive football, so a good manager as Hurst looks to be will utilize that.
With what he's had to work with previously, he's no doubt had to get the best from a different level of talent, and if that was more direct or defensive, then it shows an intelligent manager to be versatile in doing so.

Dyer Claims Controversial Victory Over Lee in Portman Cup

I think we only missed one, and the reds missed at least 3 (keeper saved a couple to be more precise). They had a few more players as mentioned but I'm sure the Home side took the honours

Dyer Claims Controversial Victory Over Lee in Portman Cup
at 09:03:43

I played in the game last Friday, and what a fantastic day. From start to finish it was superbly organized and felt like a real 'matchday' experience to last long in the memory. I played alongside Scotty Mitchell at centre half for the Blues and he was class, as was MOM Luke who fully deserved his award. At 47, his endless stamina was much needed in front of the back 4!
My claim to fame in the game was coming off (before my hamstrings snapped!) with 10 to go making way for Keiron to finish them off.
Finishing the weekend off at Reading with the 4-0 made for a perfect couple of days.
