Assuming promotion is confirmed.....I agree with the comments above that we do need to consider better facilities at Championship level (even though it will be sad to leave such a 'family' setting at Felixstowe). I am sure that the Club will give the team the best possible chance of success in Tier 2 and if it is not possible to stage their games at Portman Road more regularly perhaps they should be given a purpose built enclosure as part of the imminent upgrade to the Training Ground?? If so, it would also need better public transport links (discussions with IBC) for fans like myself that do not have an easy way of getting there with my mobility, or a shuttle bus link to Portman Road instead. |

@ Eddmundo....only when we achieve Category 1 Academy status which Mark has indicated we will be applying for in the near future. May not happen for this next season though as it could be dependent on the planned changes at the training ground as well!! Just wait for Mark to make his statement to the supporters shortly. |

To you moaners above, please note that there are two reasons for U21 results not being as good as they once were...1. The best players are all taken by the Category 1 academies now so as a Cat. 2 we cannot compete and 2. Our best young players have been sent out on loan - we currently have a large number playing 'real football' elsewhere so the U21's does not reflect the youth talent we have anymore!!! |
