Intersting fact, my dad works with the wife of Alan Quinn and Roy Keane has not spoken to him in months so would be surprised if he was here at the start of next season.

Another fact is that Stead has just set up a pension with Birkitts solicitors (girlfriend works there) which would suggest he may still have a carear at Ipswich.

As for the others, Lisbie will happily stay and collect his money, can only hope the interested Milwall take him off our hands even if its on a free just to free up the wages. Richard Wright would be a great one to get off the books, a reported £15,000 a week is a huge weekly wage for us and could be used on Murphy or another striker that may come in.

Healy has been supposedly doing quite well up in Scotland so he may stay up there. Garvan is an unusual one, half the fans want him to stay, half want him to go-the talent is there no doubt but he is no longer getting any younger, that said he could be coming into his prime soon enough and getting rid of now but prove costly so I hope he stays.

Coungao, as much as I love all the trickery, he is not consistant enough and must be on a big wage to so I would again say let him go, maybe back to Spain or to another championship or league 1 club, Colchester maybe!

That leaves the two expensive flops, Martin & Priskin. Only two options, we either persist and persist or we try and get as much money back as possible. I can see Keanes thinking in sending Priskin out on loan, was hoping he would bang the goals in for QPR and then we would have a host of clubs lining up this summer to buy him, unfortunalty QPR fans think as much of him as we do so I think we may have to persist with him.

All in all a good clear out is needed and lets hope the dead wood is moved on sooner rather than later and we can replace quantity with quality. UTT

I must admit I have been in the pro-Keane camp all season, have always been the optimist and thought that Keane would do well for the club, especially when we went on our unbeaten run. I was unfortuante enough to be their against Peterborough on Tuesday night and even more unfortuante to have had a season ticket all season, but I have had enough now, my optimism has all but vanished and Keane has to go.

All the talk about it being to late in the season to change manager and it being a diaster is non-sense. 16 games are still to be played, thats 48 points still to play for. Ok you would have to consider a bedding in period for a new manager but look at Sheff Wednesday & Irvine and it had an immediate effect there, so is not always the case.

We definitely need experience to get us through and to keep us up and we need someone who is fimiliar to this league and can start straight away, I can personally only think of one man who should have got the job after Magilton left, and that is Steve Coppell.

Keane out!

Just seen that Giles Barnes has been released by Derby, very, very injury prone but a very good player-worth a punt maybe???

Keane Again Pondering Changes Ahead of Blackpool Clash

The obvious result to bet on would be the draw here I guess! At least Holloway does try and play football with his teams so would be surprised if they pack the midfield with five like every other boring team that has come down here this season.

Going to go for a sneaky 1-0 win to the Town. Going to keep backing Rosenior to score until he does!

Hoping Priskin is at least left at home for this one, really can not stand to lose any more hair after pulling it all out at his performance on Tuesday night. Come on Keano, be brave and start Wickham-justify letting Rhodes go!

Keane to Make Changes for Peterborough\'s Visit
at 16:22:00

FYI-I know I am contradicting myself by saying that we would lose at the weekend, it is after this weekend that I am feeling like this!

Good spot bleedblue-unlikely but stranger things have happened in football.

Keane to Make Changes for Peterborough\'s Visit
at 16:18:56

I can say hand on heart now that I am going into every single game knowing that we will not lose at the moment-I love that we have become hard to beat at long last. Six points out the next two games is a must though, secure that and we can really start pushing up the table and putting distance between ourselves and the likes of Peterborough-even a win tonight will put us seven points clear from Peterborough, if Plymouth lose that will open that gap up to five and really bring the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry into it. Another win on Saturday with results going away and we could be up to 16th and then things will definitely be looking up and we can really push on from there.

Going to stick my neck out and go for a 3-0 win tonight, two for Stead and one for Rosenior. Was spot on with my cardiff score the other week, almost right at the weekend-thought we would lose 1-0 with Haynes scoring (almost right!)

Keane Yet to Decide Whether to Start John at Cardiff
at 16:49:17

I am going to comment on the actual article regarding tomorrow's game rather then all the needless Keane in/out banter as its getting tiresome reading the same old stuff on here day after day!

I for one, when I heard yesterday that we were signing Stern John was rather dissapointed but after sleeping on it for a night I am a little bit more optimistic going in to tomorrows game. How often does a striker sign for a club and go & get himself a debut goal-I have this gut feeling that he might be like how Ricardo Fuller was here a few seasons ago, good at holding players off and bringing others in which we havent had since him and before that to a lesser extent Jamie Scowcroft.

You dont need pace to be able to hold the ball up, create space and play others in so I think this could be an inspired signing from Keane as we have been yurning for a big, strong striker all season. Ideally I would have liked someone maybe a little younger, but with age comes experience and hopefully that will help the younger lads like Priskin, Wickham etc. and we may well indeed see an unexpected result come this weekend.

My team for the weekend:

R.Wright
Rosenior/McCauley/Delaney/Wright
Edwards/Leadbitter/Garvan/Walters
John/Priskin

I think Cardiff are there for the taking this weekend, lost the last two to Barnsley & Swansea. The same Swansea we played off the park down here so im going to stick my neck out & go for a 2-1 win to the town. COYB

Clegg: Town Being Run Efficiently
at 17:22:23

Shame we cant sell Martin on! I am very impressed with the way the club is being run since Keane & Clegg have both come in.

We seem to not just be content with being a football club any more and more aiming to be a global brand say like Man Utd. Not saying we will ever be that big, but the club can still bring lots of money through music concerts etc to help the club which I am sure we will see a few of now with Marcus Evans in charge & his contacts.

It is very exciting times for Ipswich at the moment and long may it last. Just got 50/1 odds for Ipswich to be promoted, ever the optimist!

Clegg: Town Being Run Efficiently
at 16:56:48

Reading havent won at home all season other than a cup win against Burton so our chances of taking 3 points on Saturday are good, especially considering some of the away performances we have put in this season.

We seem to play posession football these days under Keane which works well, home & away and I cant see anything other than 3 points away on Saturday.

Lets be optimistic for a change, as Keano said we have a monkey off our back now so lets not think are we going to win, lets know we are going to win-all in the mindset!

Stead Set to Start as Town Chase Elusive Win Against Derby
at 14:17:59

For me we are a completly different side depending on which strikers we play-if we play Counago-he links up with the midfield better but I always find that we are lacking a striker in the box to finish off the move as Counago is doing what our midfield should be.

We play Stead and all we do is play long balls up to him!

Walters has been the one consistent striker and his work rate is immense which merits a starting place but as hard as we works how often is he in the box to finish moves off just like Counago hence why we can not play Counago & Walters together as both are link play strikers rather than out and out goal scorers.

My opinion and mine alone would be to drop Walters to the left wing, can he really do any worse there then Martin? or Peters who constantly gets muscled off the ball, Quinn has been ok but surely Walters can be ok if not better in that position with his work rate.

My strike pairing would be Counago & Priskin, Counago to link the play and Priskin to add a bit of pace to get behind the defenders and finish moves off but come Saturday 3pm I have no doubt I will be way off!

Rosenior Looking For Premier Return
at 15:32:01

I read Roseniors first interview before this one and he originally wasnt keen on a permanant switch so decided on a loan move instead to keep his options open. I cant say I blame the lad-hopefully he will do well this season and if we get promoted or have a good season and are at least challenging near the top of the table come the end of the season then I have no doubt that he will sign next summer on a permanant deal.

Shame its international week, I am looking forwards to seeing our new players in action!

Duffers-the evening star has a bit about Edwards and he seems to genuinely excited about joining Ipswich as well. Seems like Keane has brought in players that have the right personality which I am happy about, its a privilage to play for the treactor boys and I hope these lads realise this!

Said last week that Leadbitter could be captain material in a year or two, am thinking that even more now-really seems to be endearing himself to the Ipswich faithful.

Rosenior Loan Confirmed
at 15:09:50

Loving the fact that we still have Norris, Civelli & Peters to come back into contention. The squad is starting to take shape, whether promotion this season is achievable is still open for debate but Keane is definitely building a side that will definitely be able to challenge any team in the Championship.

Team against Middlesbrough anyone???

R.Wright
Rosenior, Bruce, Mcauley, Smith
Edwards, Leadbitter, Colback, Martin
Counago, Priskin

oooooooh my, thats a tasty looking line up with plenty of pace down the wings. A nice solid central midfield partnership and two forwards that are completly different from each other.

A left back would be handy to bring in, Bale from Tottenham anyone!

McAuley Bid Turned Down
at 14:01:38

We had the 3rd best defence in the Championship with Mcauley in it last season so the unfair stick that is getting solely pointed at Gareth seems a bit unfair. Ok he has had a slow start to the season riddled with a few mistakes but like any other player, he is a confidence player and now he has had the captains arm band taken away from him he can now concentrate on his game. I thought he was our best defender against Preston at the weekend where Pim whom I am afraid to say I have stuck up for on this site had a bit of a shocker. I have faith that our defence and out entire team will come good, bit dissapointed in our left back state at the moment but Tommy Smith looks like he could make that his own if he can keep his concentration for an entire 90 mins.

We have this side till January now so lets get behind all of them and stop booing them and support them and get the Town up to the right end of the league, lets be the 12th man now when we are needed and not just when we are winning and getting the prawn sandwich brigade in! UTT

No Reading Move for Wright
at 13:54:15

Think signing Rosenior could be the best bit of business Keane has done in this transfer window, am very happy with him and Leadbitter. As for David Wright, I think his Ipswich career could well be over now, hasnt really been involved in first time affairs this season and with Tommy Smith being played ahead of him at left back and Bruce ahead of him at right back with Rosenior now in his chances are limited to say the least.

Can see Wright going out on loan somewhere, maybe we can loan Sheff Wed Wright in exchange for Wood???
