Jewell: We Should Have Been Out of Sight
at 19:44:40

Until we learn how to beat teams like Watford that play dedicated long ball football we are always going to struggle to get out of this division. Yes they are awful to watch and the pitch was dreadful but they have still taken 6 points off us again this season. Not sure why we stopped passing the ball in the second half but this was a game that was there to be won. Frustrating to say the least.

Jewell Slams More Calamitous Defensive Errors
at 09:21:21

The time has definitely come for some sort of protest. ME may be the financial custodian of this club but we will be here long after he, PJ and Clegg have gone.

Keaneish

I remember hearing an old saying once that was along the lines of "When the fans call for the manager to be sacked the board will back the manager, but when the fans call for the board to be sacked the board will sack the manager."

The big question is people what do you want to do about this ? There were protests organised for Magilton to go when things were nowhere near as bad as this. Any ideas ?

Jewell: Lack of Confidence and Poor Defending Let Blackpool Back In
at 20:08:32

Reading the comments made by ME I think it seems Jewell is going nowhere so lets take the positives from today. Thought Martin, Hyam, Drury and Carson all played very well but hats off to Tommy Smith. Given all the stick he has had since the world cup hopefully today will boost his confidence. I know it's hugely disappointing being 2-0 up at home and ending up with a draw but let's be honest who wouldn't have taken a point at 3 o'clock today ?

Town Confirm McCarthy Loan
at 13:07:11

This really does appear the work of someone who has lost the plot. Another keeper on a 24 hour recall who is clearly very much committed to Reading, what a laughing stock we are. The real test of Evans resolve to keep Jewell will be if he lets him spend any serious money this week.
As I posted on Saturday though given all the people on here that want Jewell out I have still not heard any protests at matches, interesting.

Jewell: Same Old Story

Interesting that with so many people on this site calling for the manager's head I have still not heard any protests at the games. Having said that there was very little atmosphere once again today.

Jewell: Same Old Story
at 21:00:28

At what point is he going to accept that his coaching staff are not up to the job ? There were at least 4 of them out there during the warm up, surely one of them has some idea how to defend. The first goal would have been embarassing for a junior side, their player pinned in by his own corner flag by two of ours and still he manages to clear the ball upfield.
I like many others have unfortunately been watching second tier football for long enough now to recognise a team heading for relegation and we have league 1 written all over us. Very sad times.

Absolutely convinced that if Jewell remains in charge we will be relegated. Struggling to think of a worse time at the club, even including the John Duncan era.

Jewell: Leeds Will Feel Hard Done By
at 20:25:08

Oh dear Simon Grayson what a bad loser you are ! You can complain all you want about penalty decisions but as they say they even themselves out over a season. Don't forget we had one given against us last week that was well outside the area and I do not recall anyone having too much sympathy for us.
Thought Murphy made a big difference today and nice to see a defender who is prepared to clear the ball. At least tonight's beer tastes better than last week.

Jewell Apologises for Worst Defeat in Management
at 20:53:29

Don't think I have ever been so humiliated at a football match in my life. The defending has been poor for months even at the end of last season. Sorry Jewell but you are in charge of these players and you and your people coach them. The mistakes are so basic it's untrue. A defence is supposed to operate as a unit, move across together and cover each other. All very well blaming the players but what about the coaching staff ? If I was Evans right now I would be seriously worried about the direction my business is heading.

Loach Would Love Town Return

Rumour is that our first game of the season will be at home to Watford so would be interesting if we could pull this one off. Other opening day games West Ham v Barnsley and Birmingham v Millwall (only rumours though).

Sky sports also reporting that we are close to signing Nathan Ellington on a free.

Jewell: Embarrassing Scoreline
at 09:35:50

It has been obvious for some time that our home form has been a major problem particularly evening league games. By my reckoning last season we played 6 home evening league games and collected 6 points from a possible 18, soring 6 goals and conceding 8. This season has been even worse. Once again we have played 6 home evening league games and collected just 1 point from a possible 18, scoring 5 goals and conceding 19. That means that from 12 matches we have collected just 7 points from a possible 36, scored 11 goals and let in a total of 27.
Anyone feel like backing a campaign to ban home evning league games ?

Jewell Delighted With Hammering
at 07:10:06

Wow what a difference a few weeks can make ! It is obvious now to most people that we already had a fairly good squad but whilst we all continue to laud Paul Jewell I do wonder how much the addition of Chris Hutchings has helped. Watching him in the warm up etc he does seem to talk to the players and encourage them a lot more than the previous coaching staff.

Forty one points on the board surely now they can start talking seriously to the out of contract players.

Town Rebuff Double Palace Bid

Maybe we should have countered that with a bid of £800K for their entire squad and stadium. We would still have been paying over the odds, south London muppets.
