McCarthy Speculation Continues in Irish Press
at 17:17:37

We all know that when it comes to the media and dealings, MM tries to be as tight lipped as possible. So it's hardly surprising that he hasn't come out and made a rash statement about not being interested.

Personally I don't feel insulted that MM hasn't declared himself not interested, I also think he and the players playing under him are professional enough to not let speculation affect their performance.

Blues Linked With Ebanks-Blake Move
at 11:17:36

I can't understand any negativity towards this! How many times recently have I read on here recently that we need a 20 goal a season striker? He scored 15 last season with a side that got relegated, that says to me he's more than capable of getting 20 goals a season. Surely he's got be worth a go, he's on a free what's the worst that could happen?

McCarthy: Up to Us to Get Crowds Back to Portman Road
at 08:57:26

I recently went to Vancouver and went to a Whitecaps MLS game while I was there. Not only the football a surprisingly good standard, the ticket promotions and general match day atmosphere was so encouraging for fans to get involved, here's a couple of examples of their ticketing:

Prices started from $18 (approx £14) and you could order your exact seat online when ordering. (they use ticketmaster who subcontract their online ticketing services)

They offer a 5 match pack where you can buy 5 matches which you can pick and chose throughout the season at a reduced rate.

Their season tickets for next year are discounted by over a third to what a normal matchday price would be, also any home cup match is included no matter how many they play! It would also give you discounts in the club shop and lots of free promotional stuff etc.

Student season tickets are $199 (£150) (works out about £8 a game)

In the stands there were people giving away free stuff and food & drink was reasonable and no queues.

Oh and the game was a sell out

Loach Out to Emulate Boyhood Town Heroes
at 08:14:33

As much as he may like to think it, I don't think Loach can really think that this team is better than that team of 2000. Apart from Cresswell and maybe one of Smith or Chambers to play along side Mowbray, I couldn't see any others getting in that side. Don't forget we finished in the playoffs 4 years in a row before getting promoted!

McCarthy: Harry's One of the Best
at 09:12:33

What Harry is good at is convincing owners to part with money than is far more they should for clubs in their situation. QPR seem to be resting everything on getting promoted this season, and what happens if they don't get there? Harry will find another job because he's a high profile manager and QPR will fall away like Portsmouth.

At least with Mick we have someone who respects the financial well being of this club and can do business without a budget. In my opinion there's more skill there as a manager.

The TWTD Banner Vote

@Dantheman the image of Sir Bobby on your revised version of B is slightly bigger than Sir Alf, but I would still prefer like many B with the image of Sir Bobby from A.

Dyer Taking First Steps in Coaching Back at Academy
at 11:36:23

Reading interviews like this make you realize more and more how much the likes of Keane Clegg and Jewell (to a lesser extent) destroyed the ethos and atmosphere around this great club. It really sounds like a great place to be right now with all the old faces and the optimism and excitement last years finish and the summer signings have brought.

Dyer's autobiography sounds like a good read, and what a great gesture it is to give money from the sales to help the academy. It's great that we have people like Dyer and Bramble wanting to give their time and money to help give others the opportunities they had and shows that not only the supporters still love this club.

Being a fan of your team and being proud to be a fan of your team are different, the way this club have moved forward recently and the atmosphere around the club rebuilding that pride for us all as supporters.

O'Driscoll: A Long Way to Go on JET Deal
at 15:54:24

I would be really surprised if he wants to takes a pay cut and drop down a league to play regular football. He just doesn't seem the type and at times last year proved the he wasn't that bothered. It was only when Mick gave him a public slating that he started to sort himself out!

Maybe he feels he hasn't got the support from his manager, but personally I think he will always be a player who never lives up to his potential and Mick has got him sussed.

McCarthy Not Ruling Out Moves for Ex-Loan Pair
at 11:59:21

I personally think that Henderson and Loach aren't that far off each other, but if we can get Henderson on loan it would be a good move because it gives healthy competition and will keep each other on their toes.

Stearman should be our number one target but I think it's only if either Chorpa or JET are sold.

Evans's Salary Cap Proposal Scrapped
at 10:27:52

This seasons PL has been boring compared to the football league, the only thing left to play for on the final day of the season is who will finish fourth, compare that to the excitement at both ends of the championship and the incredible last 5 minutes of Brentford v Scunthorpe and it seems unfair how much sky and the PL want to discourage interest in the football league from general football fans. Last year's final day excitement at Man City was a one off!

What has annoyed me more than anything this season is the date (and time) of the FA cup final. This was always the last game of the season and rightly so. This year Wigan's monumental achievement was completely wrecked by having to play Arsenal 4 days later to try and stay in the PL and meant they couldn't even have a drink to celebrate. And don't even get me started on the semi finals being played at Wembley!

The FA (in terms of the FA Cup) and the PL only care about money and don't care about the supporters or what's good for the game of football.

Things On the Up for Most-Improved Hyam

Why would you have a tattoo that could have 2 meanings? I hope he means that fortune as in good luck rather than wealth.

His words about Marriott seem encouraging, it's hard not to get excited about having a young goalscorer come through the ranks. Watching his progress reminds me of watching Rhodes, let's hope we give this one a chance or loan rather than sell.

No New Injuries But Martin to Miss Wednesday Trip
at 17:06:46

I think Martin will surprise many if he stays next year, if he signs a new contract or leaves, he won't get a deal like the one he's had, in fact I can imagine there will be little interest from championship clubs based on his last 4 years. i think he will be better off taking a significant pay cut staying with itfc and be part of hopefully an exciting promotion chasing team.

McCarthy Has Planned for McGoldrick's Absence
at 08:17:12

I'm not sure whether I'm happy we kept it secret so we have less chance of others coming in and poaching, or I'm annoyed the club lied to it's fans. At least we have an explanation now. I guess if he signs it may have been a good move, if not it will be embarrassing that we're paying his wages with him not allowed to play.

I have a good feeling about tomorrow, Mcgoldrick opener and McClean coming off the bench to score against his former club. 2-0 away win would be great. It would be a massive 3 points towards safety.

Murphy: Must-Win Game
at 09:39:33

I really think we'll have great away support for this one tomorrow, it's cracking little old stand and the terrace always gets the fans more buoyant. Peterborough may be unpredictable but I think Mick will set us up in the right way, solid at the back and I really get the feeling Mcgoldrick will score. 2-0 away win my prediction
