Really? I thought he was really consistent throughout, let lots go (some of which maybe were fouls) but both teams knew where they were at with him and the game was all the better for it. Didn’t fall for some theatrics from either side (Akpom for us and Burrows for them). He wasn’t perfect but he helped make it an entertaining game. |

Embarrassing from them today. Absolutely no way they achieve anything this season with that approach. I get why teams near the bottom do it, and you can sh1thouse your way to enough points to survive, but they won’t get anywhere near the top 6, which presumably is their aim? Sad to see really….. |

Incredibly close, VAR would have had the lines out for sure |

Both full backs absolutely superb tonight |

I think so, he looked different class today. What an insanely brilliant decision for a championship manager to have to make though. Our options going forward are absolutely crazy too. |

From the goal kicks? No I haven’t tbh but I’ll take your word for it. McKenna wouldn’t have us doing it if it didn’t work but I just don’t see it. |

I think the ref’s been great. Little bit harsh on Hirst a couple of times and yes, Brooks lucky not to be booked, but in general he hasn’t fallen for the nonsense of either time and has let it flow. Chalk and cheese with the Birmingham ref for example, who ruined the game with constant unnecessary stoppages |

I’m not some dinosaur against playing it out from the back but I do question the risk/reward of the way we do it. Often seems that, even if we get the risky triangles right, we end up back where we started anyway. I understand the premise of drawing them in and then springing but we don’t seem to do the springing part. |
 | Forum Reply | What do PNE get for 6 bookings in a game these days? at 07:34 25 Aug 2025
Tbh I didn’t actually think the sh1thousing was as bad as it could have been in the circumstances, with the exception of the left back rolling around holding his face, which was beyond pathetic. The very worst of modern football. We’re definitely too nice post Morsy though. We had a really soft, marginal penalty decision go against us and yet it was the PNE players who were at the ref all game. I’ve seen a few Preston fans say they couldn’t see it but assumed it was a penalty, such was the lack of a reaction from our players. |
 | Forum Reply | Pick the bones out of that one at 20:55 23 Aug 2025
It was the slowing it down that frustrated me today. The tempo was nowhere near high enough for most of the match, Preston defended well but were there fort he taking when we drove at them with pace. However, most of the time our attacking players take the safe option of keeping possession and passing it back or inside. There's just a chronic lack of confidence throughout the team. |
 | Forum Thread | We could really, really do with beating Southampton at 08:34 13 Aug 2025
Of course we have some issues in the squad that need to be resolved but I honestly think the biggest thing we’re lacking is a total reversal in momentum from the promotion years. It’s intangible but so important in football, a couple of scruffy wins could really make all the difference, particularly at home. |
 | Forum Reply | If that's a pen at 22:18 8 Aug 2025
Yeah, total madness. Goals are so rare and so hard to score that to give a team an 80% chance of scoring for something like that is just so stupid. |
 | Forum Reply | If that's a pen at 22:07 8 Aug 2025
I think the rules are ridiculous but, with them as they are, that’s a pen every time. VAR gives that every time. Crazy that things like that determine games though |

Same, don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with BL before but I’d say that failing to vaccinate a child who subsequently becomes ill is absolutely neglect, regardless of intent. |
