Genuine question. If they do get a significant sentence (which they absolutely should), would that make you question if all the ‘two tier’ stuff might be total bobbins? Or would you just carry on parroting it anyway? FWIW then there certainly does need to be questions asked if they aren’t locked up for a serious stretch. |

 | Forum Reply | Tuchel - get rid at 12:44 11 Jun 2025
What's he trying out though? What does he learn by picking Henderson/Walker/Toney etc? I would have more sympathy if he was experimenting in the way that Carsley was but, if there's a masterplan behind his decisions so far, I can't see it. Our approach is so frustrating, incredibly ponderous, slow on the ball and playing on the edge of our own box without any intent to get up the pitch. We have so many talented players and it's absolute dross. |
 | Forum Reply | Well Tuchel looks an upgrade on Southgate on that showing at 10:07 8 Jun 2025
Agree the game shouldn't have been played at this time. However, since it was, I don't understand why he didn't play some of the younger players who would have seen it as an opportunity to be excited by rather than just the same old faces who clearly didn't want to be there. Gibbs-White, Eze, Wharton etc etc would have relished the chance. Madueke is in a similar position and was our liveliest player, albeit that was a low bar. We ended up with another right footed left back, a midfielder at right back (with the most creative right back in the world on the bench and another class attacking one at left back) and Jordan Henderson in the middle. High hoped for Tuchel but I find it all a bit baffling so far. |

Genuine question, what do you think has got worse under Labour? I know our media has been even more crazy than before in constantly attacking the Government but under most objective measures things are improving surely? (trade deals, NHS waiting lists, workers rights, economic indicators etc etc) Personally, I've found Starmer's Labour to be a bit of a let down, they don't appear to have much vision and are far too scared of their own shadow. But they're a thousand times better than what went before. |

That's interesting, thanks. I know many more than that, and they all hold the same views. However, they are mostly refugees and mostly from the Sumy area so quite probably not a representative sample. Why do you put 'invasion and occupation' in inverted commas? That's not a controversial statement surely? |
 | Forum Reply | Europe still hates us at 14:45 18 May 2025
Are you saying that normal Ukrainians are unhappy that we are supporting them to resist invasion and occupation by Russia? I have to say, I know many and that could not be further from the truth for them. You say you know a few, is that what they're telling you? |

Ah yes, widespread reductions in public spending will definitely spark financial recovery. You've only got to look at the last 15 years to see that. |
 | Forum Reply | VAR is literally useless at 10:43 18 May 2025
I disagree. Far from getting rid of the distinction between deliberate and accidental, I'd like to see it more pronounced. A straight red for the totally cynical 'took one for the team' fouls that stop counter attacks would improve the game immeasurably (or a sin bin could be good for this?). I know they've always been part of the game but it's getting ever more prevalent and is so frustrating to watch. I can't think of another sport that allows such blatant and deliberate cheating to go relatively unpunished. They also need to look at the head injury rule which is being massively exploited too. |
 | Forum Reply | Congratulations to Palace & their fans at 09:47 18 May 2025
Absolutely delighted with the result, can't think of a more deserving club or set of fans than Palace. Scandalous refereeing though, it's obviously a red card and everyone would be crying corruption if it had gone the way of the big team. The officials clearly didn't want to make such a big call so early in a cup final. Written in the stars that Henderson would save the (soft) penalty too! |

Who do you think will have gone down? Muric, obviously. Maybe Clarke and Philogene I guess, but not by much, if at all. |
 | Forum Reply | Reform Policy at 12:55 8 May 2025
Yeah, I think that's fair. Of course I understand the wider socio-economic situation that allows populist charlatans to thrive, I just don't like it. Particularly when, as in the case of Farage, he's demonstrated beyond all doubt that his 'answers' just make everything worse for (almost) everyone. |
 | Forum Reply | Reform Policy at 11:12 8 May 2025
It's so bizarre. Farage's entire raison d'etre for his whole career was Brexit. It was literally the only thing he was known for and his sole interest (The Brexit Party FFS). He has gladly accepted the accolades as the person who made it happen. Now that's been proven beyond any doubt to be a total disaster for the country, and for everyone who lives here, and is a hugely unpopular project with most of the population. Yet he just carries on regardless, more influential than ever and avoiding any accountability for literally anything and everything that he's ever said or done. Fishermen have been screwed, farmers have been screwed, the working classes have been screwed, and yet he still prances around with them playing his 'man of the people' act. I know we live in a country where the media is dominated by right wing billionaires but it still blows my mind how many people are taken in by him. |

You know people didn't vote for the Nazis after the holocaust started right? That's not how these things work. Also, this time last year everyone was saying similar things about people using language like that about Trump. Surely no one can seriously deny that he is running, or attempting to run, a Fascist regime now? Farage idolises him remember. I don't think 'Nazi' was the right word to use but the days of dismissing comparisons with truly horrendous regimes as ridiculous should be at an end. If you don't learn from history you're doomed to repeat it. These are really, really bad people, don't be blind to that. |
 | Forum Reply | Glad we're out of this league at 16:09 26 Apr 2025
Agree with your first sentence, of course it's not corruption. Couldn't disagree more with your second point though, if that's a penalty then every game will finish 9-9 and last about 400 minutes with constant VAR checks. It's a rubbish, unnecessary decision that isn't what VAR is meant to be for and has further ruined a game that had already been unduly influenced by the officials. I can't wait for this season to be over. |
 | Forum Reply | Pundits all love Arsenal at 14:47 21 Apr 2025
Of course it's easier now, the final could well be played out by the teams 14th and 16th in the PL. |
 | Forum Reply | Booing Saka at 10:21 21 Apr 2025
Stupid tackle and deserved a red card IMO. Saka made a meal of it but so would most players these days. The booing was a bit silly (easy to say when watching it on TV) but football crowds are a bit silly and it would have happened at every single ground in the country. I've seen an Arsenal fan compare it to Stoke fans booing Ramsey after Shawcross shattered his leg, now that really is silly. I wouldn't waste time being embarrassed about it. Our fans have generally been great this season. |
