Bingboast MM would probably have kept us in the Championship but how many would have been watching. The chants of Mick McCarthy your football is s*** were not because the football was entertaining. |

This does not necessarily look like good news to me. They are hardly doing it because they are ITFC fans. They will be in it for the money. Pension schemes are not charities, as it turns out Marcus Evans has been. More like asset stripping and a possible leveraged buyout. At least they can't sell the ground, but we could be training on Alderman Road Rec. It could mean the end of the Academy. Why have the expense of an Academy when you can get other teams rejects for free? |

He probably wouldn't leave for less wages unless we settled his contract which would probably cost more than the £50k, so loaning him out might be more cost effective. |

Bluearmy who were these other suitors? David Sheepshanks never mentioned any at the special meeting of shareholders to discuss the offer. |
 | News Comment | O'Neill: Lambert's Job is Safe at 16:08:36
My opinion about the 5 year contract is that therefor the good or bad that there is a long term plan being carried out. The only thing I can think of is that they are going to concentrate on the Academy. Lambert has already used more players in the league than anyone since Bobby Robson. If such a plan works it would be great, but I can't see it working unless we become a Level 1 Academy with the advantages that it gives. |
 | News Comment | Delaney: Keane Would Destroy Me After Games But Still Picked Me at 18:07:31
The rot started with the departure of Joe Royal. We have not really had a competitive team since. Joe was always willing to give a youth player a chance, although at times probably not out of choice. Lambert seems so be similar, but everybody seems to forget he is starting from a lower base than Joe, who at least inherited some of George Burley's premiership squad. Lambert really does need to start delivering from next season as he has had a season and half to sort the mess out. |

This would never of happened under a certain former manager. Here is an example of a manager who really wants to embrace the club compared with one that wants to wave two fingers at the fans. |
 | News Comment | Blues Linked With Coventry Midfielder Shipley at 19:57:21
Haven't you noticed Coventry have no ground, little home support and only keep going because of sales. They sold James Maddison to the Budgies relatively cheaply because they needed the money. That's not to say they will not want more than we want to pay or that he would want too come. You can be sure though that ITFC pay more than Coventry. |
 | News Comment | Lambert: Whole Team Grew in the Second Half at 16:18:13
I think PL is really looking to the future. If wants and needs to give young and current fringe players game time the consequence is that the 'first' team players will not play. I am not sure how good or bad the rotation policy really is. However it is unlikely that Brett McGavin would have been risked to start in a League game. PL is certainly learning about the young players more quickly than if he given them a few minutes at the end of a game as per MM, and then drop them because they never changed the result of the game. Think Jack Marriott for example. |
 | News Comment | Coventry Cup Ticketing Details at 15:37:17
Although it's more complex that this, basically Coventry are in dispute with the Council over the sale of the Ricoh Arena to the Wasps Rugby Club. As the Wasps don't want to be involved with the litigation they won't let the football club use the stadium. The football club owners sold Highfield Road and the training ground so the club have no real home. |
 | News Comment | Bolton Wanderers 0-5 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 11:17:19
If I remember correctly a few years ago we played a more or less full strength Crystal Palace side with a very young team and they only won 2-1. Perhaps its not quite as easy as many on this site think. |
 | News Comment | No Cash Turnstiles at Home Games at 17:47:03
I don't know the reason either. As an observation it all depends upon how many are 'desks' are open in the ticket office. For away games I have been to, where they were taking cash, we were told to sit anywhere even if you had a numbered ticket. I am not sure if it is true in every case though. With home supporters seats need to be allocated and tickets printed to stop duplication with season ticket holders, etc. This might be time consuming at the gates as the position of vacant seats may need to be available. Some people, for instance with walking difficulties, might need to be near a gangway, so the issue of pre-printed tickets off a pile might not work . |
 | News Comment | Owner Evans Apologises to Fans at 18:47:00
TractorRoyNo1 it was meant to say young England . Sorry. I must congratulate Norwich for hyping up the value of their players, something we seem to fail to do. Has one of the Murphy brothers (that went to Newcastle?) been loaned out to a championship side? |
 | News Comment | Owner Evans Apologises to Fans at 17:16:12
As I have stated before I was at the shareholders meeting (having bought shares when we went bankrupt) that agreed to Marcus Evans taking over the club. Basically we would have gone bankrupt again if there had not been a take over, because of the debt for the stands. It is correct he bought the debt (about) 20p in the £1. However he has continued to put about £8m a year into the club to top up wages and to run the Academy. The debt on the books (including the original debt at the original amount) is all owed the Marcus Evans group, so he is correct to say we are financially viable. Although the Academy level 2 it is run more or less at level 1. Remember we would have accepted at level 1 a few years back except for 'efficiency'. Basically MM never actually used any of the youth players. The Academy has produced three young players in recent years (Downes, Dozzell, Nydam) something that Norwich (a level 1 Academy) can't claim, so they must be doing something right. I agree it would be great if ME invested more in the transfer market but as I have no idea of how cash rich his company is I have no idea what he can realistically afford. Perhaps some of the experts on this site can enlighten us on what Me should be investing! As neither the Cobbolds nor David Sheepshanks put money in the club I am grateful that ME does. However I would love it if somebody with more money to lose were to by ME out but is the either realistic or likely. Having lived in Coventry I still follow the club. Now there is an example of really bad owners, as far as I know the club still have no ground next season. As for next season we at least will be playing weaker teams than this season. Whether we will be able to build a team to get promoted is another question. However since all three clubs relegated 2016/7 were promoted last year and those from 2017/8 are currently in the top 6 there is at lease hope. |
 | News Comment | Lambert Sick and Tired of Blame Being Laid at Owner's Door at 15:31:49
I bought shares when the club when into liquidation. I also attended the meeting when David Sheepshanks announced that Marcus Evans was willing to buy the club. The vote from shareholders was unanimous for the deal. If it had not gone ahead I doubt the club would exist today. Many on this site may not like it but the truth of the matter is that Marcus Evans saved the club. |
