| News Comment | Town Confirm Sarmiento Loan Signing at 20:33:33
What about Szmodics as he appears to know where the net is. Blackburn are unlikely to make the playoffs or get relegated so they might sell. |
| News Comment | West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:58:48
Beaten by two teams on parachute payments. The 'fair play rules' stop us from really competing even if we could afford it. Is me or do we concede far too many goal by not having anyone on the far post for freekicks and corners. |
| News Comment | Rotherham Boss Apologises to Fans at 13:57:14
All the club was interested in was getting the game played so they got the money from Sky. They did not consider the travelling fans until things got so bad they had no choice. Pathetic. |
| News Comment | McKenna: We Need to Enjoy Nights Like Tonight at 13:25:12
Am I missing the apologies from those who said that the transfer window was underwhelming. Perhaps they now realize that McKenna and Ashton might know what they are doing. |
| News Comment | Town Continue Pre-Season at Preston at 17:09:50
Tried signing on with two accounts and both were refused as email address already existed. Oh well that's a fiver saved. |
| News Comment | Brighton Activate Loan Recall But Walton Still at Town at 16:31:00
If Walton wants to come to Ipswich he just has to refuse to move to any other club, which he is entitled to do. The wages problem is a possible difficulty, but can't that be solved with an appropriate signing on fee? |
| News Comment | Town Closing in On McKenna at 17:29:00
If the players don't like him at least he won't have problems moving on the 50% plus of the players brought in by Cook who appear to be out of their depth even in Division One. |
| News Comment | Town Takeover Completed at 12:43:00
I'm not sure about this simply because a pension fund has to make a profit on the investment and I can't see where it's coming from in the short term at least. Also, there was no mention of the academy so do they plan to go for level 1 status, the only way to stop others asset stripping it, or are they just going to scrap it. Leaving it as it is, is spending at level 1 costs and only having level protection. |
| News Comment | Town Takeover Stalls at 14:03:49
This site is instructive. The town have a load of supporters whom say the owner does not spend enough on the club and then refuse to spend any money themselves until he has gone. |
| News Comment | Owner Evans on Cook, Lambert and Takeover Talk at 15:52:14
It puzzles me how people think that an American consortium that needs a £40m, or whatever, investment from a pension fund, is going to the assets to plough the £10m+ a year needed in the club for an indefinite period. They seem to be asset strippers to me and I am thankful that ME is apparently not going to let that happen. Sell the club if that is what you want, but to owners that really want the best for the club. |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Cook Appointment at 13:37:37
Bingboast MM would probably have kept us in the Championship but how many would have been watching. The chants of Mick McCarthy your football is s*** were not because the football was entertaining. |
| News Comment | Town Takeover Close at 19:55:22
This does not necessarily look like good news to me. They are hardly doing it because they are ITFC fans. They will be in it for the money. Pension schemes are not charities, as it turns out Marcus Evans has been. More like asset stripping and a possible leveraged buyout. At least they can't sell the ground, but we could be training on Alderman Road Rec. It could mean the end of the Academy. Why have the expense of an Academy when you can get other teams rejects for free? |
| News Comment | Fleetwood and Wigan Linked With Donacien at 16:40:36
He probably wouldn't leave for less wages unless we settled his contract which would probably cost more than the £50k, so loaning him out might be more cost effective. |
| News Comment | Swindon Game First Memorial Matchday at 15:17:04
Bluearmy who were these other suitors? David Sheepshanks never mentioned any at the special meeting of shareholders to discuss the offer. |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Lambert's Job is Safe at 16:08:36
My opinion about the 5 year contract is that therefor the good or bad that there is a long term plan being carried out. The only thing I can think of is that they are going to concentrate on the Academy. Lambert has already used more players in the league than anyone since Bobby Robson. If such a plan works it would be great, but I can't see it working unless we become a Level 1 Academy with the advantages that it gives. |
| News Comment | Delaney: Keane Would Destroy Me After Games But Still Picked Me at 18:07:31
The rot started with the departure of Joe Royal. We have not really had a competitive team since. Joe was always willing to give a youth player a chance, although at times probably not out of choice. Lambert seems so be similar, but everybody seems to forget he is starting from a lower base than Joe, who at least inherited some of George Burley's premiership squad. Lambert really does need to start delivering from next season as he has had a season and half to sort the mess out. |
