Marriott Set to Return to Town
at 12:06:05

whoisjimmyjuan

Thanks for explaining your hatred of certain words, very useful. Yes, slight overreaction, but I'm just sick and tired of the fairweather fans that turn positives to negatives and vise versa to suit them, it becomes tedious do you not agree?

I very much hope Marriott makes it as much as the next guy, but people really need to give the guy some time.

Marriott Set to Return to Town
at 21:59:54

Are we SERIOUSLY having a debate as to whether Marriott is going to make it or not? WHAT DO YOU ALL WANT?? Mick has said he is a first teamer and sent him out to get more experience and it hasn't worked out due to a manager being sacked due to the team being in poor form and who in their right mind is going to shove a 20 y/o striker up front with little league experience when they're in that sort of predicament? Like seriously.

Yes he did well at Woking and yes Gillingham is another thing that didn't work out for numerous reasons, at least Mick is trying to give Marriott experience rather than let him become bored and rot in the u21's, he's trying to give him PROPER experience and now you're all saying because SO FAR it hasn't worked out that he isnt going to make it? Jesus Christ, some of you really need to reign yourselves in if you think that because it hasn't worked out SO FAR that it won't work at all, you need to give it TIME. I bet all of you saying 'conference is his level' were the ones up his backside when he was banging in the goals in that league, why do you NEED to take positives and put it into negatives. Give the guy a chance.

McCarthy: Good Win Against Good Team
at 16:01:22

I tell you what, I'm not Tabb's biggest fan but I thought in the second half he was fantastic. He made forward runs, got back, covered and saying that, the players did put in a strong shift in the second half, I don't think he was awful at all.

Building on that, I felt that the midfield and the strike force really blended fantastically (eventually) and it helped us continue on a strong end to the first half. I also thought they coped with the formations when they switched it up very well from flat 4-4-2 to 4-3-1-2 and whoever was going forward, if it wasn't who was meant to be, they were covered.

One negative though, and I hate to be, was Skuse. He was AWFUL the whole game. He just looks like he's treading on eggshells the WHOLE time and never looks comfortable. I understand why he was employed in the game as opposed to Hyam as he is a more defensive minded player and seen as a safe pair of hands rather than Hyam's rampaging runs forward, I just don't think he is worth a place in the first eleven.

Town Re-Sign Ambrose
at 11:05:15

I was hoping this would happen. Obviously he's 'naturally' a winger, but played very very well in the centre of the park vs Sheff Wednesday u21's, made some great incisive FORWARD passes and his long balls out to the wingers were spot on. If he plays how he did then in the first team, he will be an asset i'm sure.

Welcome back Darren.

Winger Stewart Undergoing Medical
at 10:34:34

I think given time this will be a great signing for us. As already mentioned he's got pace and from what I've heard in the past, good shooting boots too.

Knowing that we're even in the running to sign him has put me in a better mood and it just comes to show how having the right man in charge, with the right attitude can effect the place. None of this nonsense we've had to deal with in the past about how players 'don't want to come and live in suffolk', I think its understand now that we have some form of momentum we can kick on and push ourselves. We as fans need to get even more behind it than we already are.

Henshall and Stewart, if given time to settle in and allow themselves to grow and nuture could be not only two fantastic signings, but two fantastic threats to other teams. I can't even recollect the last time town had two pacy wingers to attack other teams with.

In mick we trust.

McCarthy: Cressy Deserves to Play in the Premier League
at 15:29:36

Fatboy - Completely agree involving Freeman - he's exactly the type of player we need that emulates what Williams has done for us in the latter stages of this season.
He's also a bit of a free kick specialist too which is a boost, as stevenage are in league 2 now and are facing the financial parts of relegation, maybe we can get a cheap deal, though as the interest maybe high in him, might have to pay up anyway.

Robert Koren could be another one to look at as he is awaiting another deal at Hull, though he's old he's been there and done it in this division and is a strong box to box whole hearted player.

Tractamatt - No way on earth Williams will come back permanently, especially with bigger clubs like l'pool looking at him. We couldn't afford him anyway, he signed a new 5 year deal at the back end of last year if I'm not mistaken? Palace wouldn't let him go on the cheap.

McCarthy: Cressy Deserves to Play in the Premier League
at 10:38:26

Mick is right on so many things here, obviously Cressy is the best left back in the league and if he stays he might ponder ifs and buts that could effect his performances. Though I'd be sad to see him leave, I think he should be sold for the better of the club - for the financial aspect that his sale would bring.

We need a solid keeper, yes, but we also need to nurture our young talents, so if Loach wants first team football cash in (as much as you can) on him and nurture Crowe. I remember when Shane Supple came in and was brilliant, yes not the best keeper but he was one of our own and this is something we need to bring back, having players of our own in the team, rather than as Len put having the Jay Tabb type play for your future then become and then becoming a bit part player for the next twelve months.

We also need a creative getting forward midfield player - but we all know that. Williams gave us so much and for me, was one of the main catalysts of our form for the latter part of the season. Someone who gets at defenses and creates opportunities. Though I was proud we were actually playing for something at the end of the season, the game against Burnley showed us two things, exactly where we are and exactly where we could be in 12 months time. Burnley were in our shoes last season, settling and trying to find their feet. Then, Dyche got them playing a good brand of pressing passing football with ''average'' championship names playing their hearts out every week, especially their midfield, which is where I see our team and midfield going next season if the right signings are made.

Going back to Cressy and the left back situation, Mings does look good, but for me at times vs Doncaster and Bournemouth looked so naive in a few things, but I'm sure Mick could iron out those creases and make him a fantastic full back. Ive said it so many times but if we had a left back that was a mixture of Mings and Cressy we'd have the perfect left back - height, strength, pace, crossing etc. I think if we are going to get rid of Cressy, I'd strongly suggest keeping Richardson too for back up, his performance against Bournemouth was strong.

We've gone forward this season, but it's baby steps we need and we need to make the rught signings over summer to progress, hopefully Mick can see what we all need and next year we can push higher up the league and challenge again.

Excuse the elongated post, this is my first and had a few things to get off my chest.
