 | Forum Thread | Wow! I wonder who are the two players that have had strokes since McK joined us at 08:15 7 Mar 2025
I know we have had more than our fair share of injuries this season but being diagnosed with a stroke is something else. McKenna in the presser “I think there are a lot of different factors. Always in football, you have a run of injuries and luck plays a part in it we've had maybe one stroke two in the last three and a half years.?.” |
 | Forum Thread | This from the BBC website says it all… at 21:58 26 Feb 2025
Ipswich Town have picked up fewer points than any other Premier League side in 2025 (two) and are the only side without a win this calendar year (drawn two, lost six). They’ve dropped 22 points from winning positions this season, the most of any side. Bolt 22 points on to their total and they would be on 39 and 11th in the table. Their failure to hold on to leads is one of the main reasons why they are going down (probably). |
 | Forum Thread | Well we certainly can’t argue we didn’t have any luck tonight at 21:39 26 Feb 2025
There has been a lot of discussion around Ipswich being unlucky this season but certainly can’t make that claim tonight. We had two ‘lucky’ goals and then played with an extra man for more than half the game. Yes we still contrived to lose (shakes head). |
 | Forum Thread | Would you love a Hladky and Sarmiento reunion in the 5th round? at 03:54 9 Feb 2025
Don’t know about anyone else but I think it would be fantastic to draw Burnley at home in the FA cup 5th round for three reasons. Firstly, I think Hladky would get a very warm reception from us and finally get a chance to properly say goodbye, whilst showing our appreciation for an awesome job last season. Secondly, we would probably get to see Sarmiento again and bring back incredible memories (even with his new dodgy blonde barnet!).Then finally, it is a winnable tie so would be a decent opportunity to reach the quarterfinals for the first time in decades. Anyone else? |
 | Forum Thread | Second chance to sign a 3rd striker or central midfielder at 08:27 6 Feb 2025
I know there is a lot of panic because we didn’t sign another striker or even a central midfielder in the January transfer window. However the good news is that we are still able to sign free agents as long as we keep a squad place free, which shouldn’t really be an issue since both Ogbene and Burns are almost certainly not going to be re-registered. Similarly, even if we register 4 goalkeepers that still leaves a spot open. Unless I’m badly mistaken, I seem to recall that we haven’t done too badly with free agents previously in McK’s tenure with both Axel and Mass going on to do fantastically well. |
 | Forum Thread | Is it me or is Darren Ambrose at 15:39 1 Feb 2025
Clearly bias against Ipswich on international co-comms? He literally just said “well done Aoron Ramsdale” when he made that save against Broady! Wtf. I know he needs to be neutral but that is ridiculous. He should learn from Matty Holland who is much ore professional in his neutrality when he is on co-comms in Ipswich games. |
 | Forum Thread | I know it’s a weird thing to say after a 4-1 defeat at 18:01 25 Jan 2025
But I honestly think scoring that last minute consolation goal will do the team’s confidence and belief the world of good. I know Liverpool were coasting by that time but the substitutions that we made made us look much more of a threat going forward and also with Townsend in the side I felt we looked more solid at the back as well. What an absolutely monumental game against Southampton next week will be for our survival chances. |
 | Forum Thread | Muric Best Save Percentage of all Premier League Goalkeepers in 2024 at 08:00 2 Jan 2025
According to this BBC Sport article. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/clyk2x61p45o “The statistics also highlight why Ipswich, who were promoted to the top flight at the end of last season, brought in Kosovo international Arijanet Muric to help in their bid to stay up this term. Muric played the final 10 games of last season with Burnley, where he had an average save percentage of 79.8% - more than any other goalkeeper who made 20 or more saves. Including his 17 games for Ipswich so far this term, he boasted the best save percentage of any Premier League goalkeeper, with 73.14% in the calendar year.” |
 | Forum Thread | Great defensively but absolutely no belief when going forward at 22:16 27 Dec 2024
Credit where credit is due, we looked fairly solid but so frustrating when going forward, We just looked like we were too scared to take a shot or cross the ball into the box, so holding onto the ball too long and the opportunity was lost. The smozedics chance when he didn’t take the opportunity to shoot when Raya was out of goal was a classic example. For me that’s a lack of belief. |
 | Forum Thread | Is this evidence that Tim Robinson has history of showing bias against Ipswich? at 03:44 5 Nov 2024
Tim Robinson (referee) - Ipswich vs opposition complete card issuing history 2015 - 2024 Forgive me, but I was intrigued (and also a bit bored as it is a public holiday here in Melbourne today!) so I went back and re-read the TWTD Leicester pre match article about Tim Robinson’s history officiating us over the years and what I found was quite compelling… - He has refereed us in a total of 14 MATCHES going back to 2015.;(including the Leicester match) 11 home and just 3 away. - He issued a total of 45 YELLOW cards and 2 RED cards in that period. - 28 YELLOW cards were to us (two were 2nd yellows) and 2 RED cards (both to us). - 17 YELLOW cards to opposition players. 0 RED cards. However what I found interesting is that 11 of those 14 matches were played at Portman Road when you would perhaps think that the card count would be slanted slightly toward the away players, whilst actually Robinson brandished 62% of his yellow cards and 100% of the red cards to Ipswich. Both red cards to us were also issued at Portman Road. For anyone interested the other red card was also seen as harsh at the time (two yellows for Tayo Edun against Villa early on in our 2017 relegation season. Please read Phil’s article above for more detailed info if you like. Not saying any of this is concrete evidence that Robinson is crooked or definitely bias against us, but certainly food for thought if nothing else. |
 | Forum Thread | Are we the unluckiest team in history? at 23:56 14 May 2024
Despite securing close to 100 points in successive promotion seasons, we still failed to achieve a league title in either season. So I was wondering if this must be some kind of record. Does anyone know? |
