0-0 Not the End of the World?
at 21:21:30

0-0 is a desperately disappointing result. This was a game that should have been looked at as one we could use to get three points, and climb further away from danger, Especially considering Huddersfield's form. However, generally speaking 1 point away from home is not the most disastrous result. Just need to make sure there is no hangover from Watford at the next home game.

10 Points for the Future?
at 19:03:52

Cant agree with 1 or 2 I think by the end of writing your blog you were beginning to doubt the wisdom of accepting relegation. The trouble isa long term plan can only be disrupted by relegation.

What if Martin signs a contract, but then hands in a transfer request if/when we get relegated. Loach is poached etc. Relegation means starting again. PJ is infamous for saying 'its all about next season' during derbys campaign.

Though saying that i do agree the next appointment needs to be with the long term future in mind, not someone just to firefight against the drop.

What i would say is that while i cant argue with the point you make, defensively we need to be better, your sample time is a little biased. In the first half we were the ones controlling the play and had most of the ball and im sure you would have been able to count a longer period of time if taken from then.

Marcus Evans XI

Only just sneaks into the time frame but for keeper i would go Alexander

RB As impressive as Edwards has been at filling in at RB, i think Wright deserves the spot for his consistant all round performances

CB - This really does have to be looked at as a partner ship, and i dont think we've had a partnership we've all been happy with since Delany and Mcauley held the spots. Chambers and Higginbotham have made an impressive start but thats it.

LB - Thatcher vs Kennedy vs Cresswell, on the assumption i havnt missed any then Cresswell takes it no questions asked

RM - Walters, not much more explanation needed you cover that

CM - Trying to avoid loans and its really hard, im going to make what seem an odd decision, but based on the turn around second half of last season apparntly inspired by this partnership im going Drury and Hyam

LM- again avoiding loans i cant say Gio. and then you suddenly realise the lack of a LM. Civelli was a promising signing but injury hampered his progress. Keane either had Martin on the left or played a CM there. it was one of Peters' many deployments. But im going Martin, ok his resuragnce was from being played in the middle but on his current form i think he can be played effectivly on the wing

ST - Stead, much maligned but scored on a relativly regular basis especially in comparison to what we have now

ST - easy to say Wickham and i think thats what im going to do

I would have a bench of
Fulop
Smith (struggling to think of any better (permanant) CB and he could cover as LB)
Edwards
Kennedy in his holding midfield role
Counago

Leadbitter
JET
to make up the seven

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue!

If we beat Blackpool tomorrow it would, in my opinion, break another 'mental barrier' that seems to stop us beating other teams playing well, before the match has even started.

On its own losing at Bloomfield road wouldn't be an issue but I cant help but wonder how fragile this new dawn is. Not so much among the players and management but among the fans. Lose at Blackpool and I fear a nervousness would creep into the stands when Huddersfield come to visit regardless of the result against Carlisle.

But saying that, all the signs so far are positive and I don't see why we can't get at least a point at Blackpool.

Ironically i think the change in attitude of the fans and club this summer is a good thing. Although it is possible we have swung too far, we have needed to tighten the purse strings and buy wisely, actually build on the team, not buy a completely new one.
The club seems to be running a lot more professionally on the whole.
We have improved the defense with the signings of Loach and Chambers. Yet to see how good Hewitts going to be. but there are many promising reports
Seem to have found a gem in Luongo, if only for a season
and good management over the summer seems to have done wonders for Chopra.

I think the team might surprise a few people this season.
