Includes an Ipswich player. I assumed it would be Muric, but it isn't. Disclaimer: They're usually complete nonsense. He makes Garth Crooks look like a genius. |

People may not want to read this, because in retrospect, it's quite dull (I read it back before posting), but this is an apology. When Freddie was announced, my response to Andy Warren's tweet was 😬. I take notice of lower leagues and I was aware of his reputation at Rotherham and Plymouth. Half decent striker with a bit of an attitude problem. I couldn't understand how a forward thinking, ground breaking coach had sanctioned the signing of a potentially disruptive, half committed journeyman into such an upwardly mobile professional unit. I'm ashamed to admit that I was amongst the crowd vs Northampton at home when it looked like he was a way off the quality we needed, and I berated him verbally. I was wrong. I'm sorry. Freddie has been brilliant for us. There have been so many highlights. Portsmouth at home, Port Vale away. The goal at Charlton is as good as you'll see at any level. Let's not forget he scored against Premier League Wolves last season. I know he's not at the level we need now, but I would have loved him to get some minutes in the Premier League, just as a reward for everything he's done for us. I understand why he won't. Thanks so much, Freddie. You were my daughter's favourite player.. I suspect that's because you play the game with a smile on your face. And I love that. Good luck in your career. P.S. The pre season friendly against Nice - you played like Zidane, WTF. |

...on here tonight. Lots of names I don't recognise. I guess that's the society we live in, where people see an opportunity to pile on to something negative and make themselves feel better by getting cheap "likes." This is how we judge ourselves in the modern age. (please like this) |

...with another gem of an article on the BBC website. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c9998gypd7jo "There was a plan to leave Portman Road - regardless of promotion - this summer but with options dwindling and a new deal on the table it was important for McKenna to make a decision and avoid upsetting his employers, given the amount of interest and speculation in him." Really? Has anyone heard this was always the plan? Edit: Ignore this. Just saw the thread further down. Oops! [Post edited 30 May 2024 18:37]

I noticed that he didn't shake Wes's hand in the line up before the match today. What a big baby. Wes looked bemused by it. He then proceeded to have a shocker of a game. I think we may have dodged a bullet there. |

Ipswich Town's head of recruitment has gone back to United for a role in their academy. Shame. Last January was amongst the most successful recruitment windows we've ever had. [Post edited 9 Feb 2024 16:39]

It's the boy's first derby day tomorrow so I was looking to come into Ipswich early. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to have breakfast? I used to go to the Neptune Cafe when I lived in town, I'm assuming that's gone now. [Post edited 15 Dec 2023 22:09]

Excellent today. Starting to show his pedigree. |

Plenty of shout-outs for Ipswich tonight on BT Sport for the UEFA Cup winning side. They showed footage and Ian Darke just talked about it again in commentary. Interestingly, Alkmaar seem to be set up similarly to the way we do. Should be a tough test for West Ham. [Post edited 11 May 2023 20:12]

| Forum Thread | Bobby Madden quits at 07:17 4 May 2023
So Bobby Madden has had enough of club feedback saying he's a shocking referee. One quote from him stood out for me. "Referees are essentially pandering to clubs. I've seen clear acts of simulation, clear acts of dissent, foul and abusive language overlooked because there's a reluctance to challenge that. "I've seen very, very good referees in England in my year there, you can see that they're struggling how to manage games because they don't know who to appease more. Your marks at the end of the season determine will you progress, will you be retained or will you be demoted." Surely you just referee the game as you see it, not to appease anyone. I think this explains some of the absolute lemons we've seen over the past few seasons. Today brought back a lot of memories from 2000, and then I started wondering which players from the current squad would get into the play off winners side. I settled on Leif Davis, Harry Clarke, Morsy instead of Jermaine Wright and possibly Luke Woolfenden. I think that shows how good that 2000 team was, because the side we have now is unbelieveable. |
| Forum Thread | MK Dons tickets at 18:12 30 Jan 2023
I'm planning on taking the boy to this one as his first away game. He's too young, and I'm too old to be in the middle of the hardcore support. Where would be the best section to get tickets? There seem to be plenty left across the back of the end and around one of the corners. Cheers. |
| Forum Thread | Harness at 17:25 29 Oct 2022
His ball retention is shocking. I felt the game changed when he came on. The first goal was as a direct result of his turnover of possesion. This can't keep happening. If he can't keep the ball, don't give it to him with his back to goal. Play to his strengths - he's an excellent player once he's on the turn and driving at the opposition. Chaplin hasn't been much better recently either. I know this is nitpicking considering our progress and league position this season, but it's becoming an issue. |

Shaking hands with the linesmen but ignoring the referee's outstretched hand as they passed him was comedy gold. Edited for a missing apostrophe! [Post edited 18 Oct 2022 21:49]

| Forum Thread | IFollow hypothetical at 01:10 20 Aug 2022
So if someone was to buy a 3pm Saturday fixture on IFollow from another country*, is there any reason it would cut out every ten minutes or so, saying "you may not have permission to view this stream?" Happened to me last week for the MK Dons match while I was in "Spain" and I was considering buying the Shrewsbury match, but don't want to reset everything 10 times during the game. Any ideas? *VPN from UK [Post edited 20 Aug 2022 1:10]
