I could be wrong but three experienced "journeymen" previously joined Ipswich in the "non-glory" years and had quite an influence: Steve Whitton joined aged 31 and played 4 years including promotion to premiership (six clubs previous) Tony Mowbrey joined aged 32 and played 5 years including promotion to premiership (two teams previous) Jim Magilton joined played until 36/37 for Ipswich including promotion to premiership (four clubs previous)
Each influential and critical part of the team. Most people remember the youth that excited then got sold (Kiwomya/Dozzell/Dyer etc) and few remember the stalwarts that glued the team together.
The age of Jonathan Douglass shouldn't therefore be a concern or the amount of teams he has played for - his experience and ability count for far more.
