You could not make it up
at 19:38 13 Jan 2021

I hope you are all safe and well.

I cannot comprehend after last night's performance how Bruce has kept his job. He has retained Ashley's backing. I do not know how Lambert has kept his job at Ipswich. Two managers who should be sacked, what is going on do you feel?

Ipswich Town and the last 15 years
at 09:11 25 Nov 2020

I just wanted to contribute after the 3-0 reverse to Hull last night.

I am a Newcastle United fan first and foremost but I was born here and I recently watched the 2000 documentary with tears in my eyes, remembering how elated and delighted the town was when it regained its Premier League status.

I worked at the club for 14 years in the kiosks all around the stadium and met some incredible Ipswich Town fans whose unfaltering support despite some trying times for the club should never go unmentioned.

You proved when you were relegated to League 1 that you are an incredible group of fans and you do not deserve what you have had to endure.

You have had to endure demotion from the Premier League, have had the playoff campaigns where promotion was so close.

I hope one day you will find an owner and a manager like Burley that can take you back to where you belong, in the Premier League.

Lambert, like Bruce at Newcastle needs to fall on his sword and resign and there be a significant managerial change and change in direction.

I hope the 2,000 or 4,000 fans coming back into the stadiums will help Ipswich as I have missed fans in stadiums.

Leaving TWTD
at 15:48 20 Nov 2020

It is because I have a difficult mental health battle ahead and I did not want to get embroiled in an argument about our treatment of Sir Bobby. I just wanted to say how appreciative I am of Sir Bobby and how high esteem I still and will forever hold him in. For me he is our best ever manager at Newcastle because of how he turned our club around.

I however had to stick up for my club and show my love and appreciation for Sir Bobby because he saved my club when it was heading for the abyss in 1999 and the club were falling apart.

Why do Newcastle have a statue of Sir Bobby outside St James' Park?
at 15:41 20 Nov 2020

Why is my post being given a thumbs down? I am hurt as I am a huge fan of Sir Bobby Robson not just for his heroism on the field but for his caring charity work he did in his life and the great legacy he has left.

I am one Newcastle United fan, I have my own perspective on the club, how it should be run, the missed opportunities we have because our board overreacted and made the wrong decision.

I was gutted, felt sick and bemoaned the decision to sick Sir Bobby Robson. I will tell you a story now, I met Sir Bobby with my brilliant father on October 99 when we played Derby, he got out of his BMW Sir Bobby and I asked could you sign my programme please?

He was happy too but joked if I sign yours, I will have to sign more and as it was half-term people saw me having my programme signed and he willingly signed more.He gave me a wry smile and bemoaned me but looked over jokingly. He was just astounded by my enthusiasm I came all the way from Suffolk to see my beloved team.

Sir bobby is a great man and he did not deserve what happened to him. I cry a lot sometimes thinking of what our club could have been. Sir Alex Ferguson told us himself that he thought sacking Sir Bobby was crazy. I did not want it, repeat did not want Sir Bobby Robson.

He should have been given the chance to take us through 2004/2005 and beyond and he is my managerial hero at Newcastle United, not keegan. Keegan, yes took over in 1992 and got us close to winning the title, but he left and Sir Bobby fought tooth and nail for Newcastle.

We have never recovered and will never do now whilst Mike Ashley is in charge. I love Ipswich Town and I am so proud of the achievements he made here and I had the pleasure for 14 years to work in the kiosk catering department.

I had to reluctantly go for health reasons because of my bipolar disorder and I miss football dearly, not being able to go. If I can give you the biggest compliment, I want to thank you for all of your support, kind words and encouragement you have given me when I have posted and have allowed me to post when I am a Newcastle supporter.

I care about Ipswich deeply as I did a dissertation on football finance and interviewed your old financial department and was appalled by how the club was treated following your demotion. I want to see you back in the Premier League. I never have any animosity, I have love for Newcastle and Ipswich.

I’m outraged by these comments labelling us as having an overwhelming feeling of guilt for Sir Bobby’s sacking. I met him 3 times and I intimated to him how appreciative of how he saved us from relegation and got us into the top 6. I was very upset when you said we all wanted Sir Bobby sacked. I didn’t and it was evident from Souness he lost the dressing room and we were almost relegated. I was devastated the day he was sacked and inconsolable and upset when he sadly passed. For me as a Newcastle United fan he is my hero and legend and we treated him abysmally and I am ashamed. I’m one of our fan base who wanted him to stay.

I do love turkey and mature cheddar cheese rolls or a cup a soup mostly chicken with mashed bread and croutons. Maybe I could add stuffing to make it Christmasy

This 'lockdown' really is a farce isn't it?
at 11:19 16 Nov 2020

I am very angry as I have not seen my nan since March and my grandma since last Christmas.

In the shops at the weekend, you could not move and tempers in Asda were getting heated according to social media. They were where my father and I were shopping too and people were rushing for car parking spaces too much that I was nearly knocked over.

I worry for the vulnerable and for those who suffer from mental health and from physical and more severe illnesses. Life is being made intolerable for them because of the selfishness of others. The bulk buying of toilet rolls and other items.

I thought we learnt our lessons from the past but because of the low confidence in the government, we have took things into our own hands and we need a strong leader.

Has Mental Health affected yourself or others whilst Covid/Lockdown is going on?
at 12:39 15 Nov 2020

I am a sufferer of bipolar affective disorder and I have suffered badly from lockdown. I am currently in receipt of support from my link worker and GP. I was terrible in the first lockdown as I didn't get up until late and was tearful and did not eat. My body seemed to shut down and refuse food and it was my close friends and family that helped me otherwise I would have got worse.

This time I do get tearful but I have learnt to cope a bit better. I will never be 100% with this lockdown as I miss seeing family and friends.

I pray your friend is safe and well and that he is feeling better. Depression and this lockdown can be very hard both the one now and the one preceding. It is the feeling of not being able to interact with people the way we would normally as speaking people on Zoom and on the phone is okay but it is not the same as in person. I can see why people are struggling and there is going to be a lot of problems with this pandemic and mental health.

I am currently in recovery as I have had a turbulent period of mental health and having nervous breakdowns and emotional outbursts due to events in my life and I have every sympathy and support with those struggling.

My support is always here for anyone on this forum and I am more than happy to reply to messages or be added on any social media platform and be texted. I want to help people with mental health if I can as we all need support and friendship and guidance at this time.

Please look after yourselves and those closest to you. It is important we stay positive as there will be a way out of this. One day, we will be able to enjoy going to the football, have a meal out. It might seem unattainable now but it will return.

Lambert reminds me of how Pardew was at Newcastle. He headbutted Dave Meyler yet our owner still kept him in the job until he resigned himself in December 2014 to join Crystal Palace.

This man has presided over a collapse in form before the pandemic and I still believe that he would have been sacked if it not weren't for the aforementioned outbreak of the virus. I do not think Paul Lambert shall be allowed to remain as manager of Ipswich should they miss out on promotion.

Please seek help for any mental health worries
at 10:13 18 Oct 2020

I agree there mate.

It feels like that everything has stopped and we are not allowed to do what we used to do or we are heavily restricted in what we can do.

My best advice is to take each day as it comes and if you live in an area where it is tier 2 or tier 3 where you cannot visit your friends indoors, then please keep in contact on the phone or if you have the Internet, make a time to do a Zoom or Skype or Facebook Messenger, you can do audio calls if you have a microphone.

Please keep in touch and we will get through this. We will all be back at the football one day soon.

Please seek help for any mental health worries
at 13:05 17 Oct 2020

I just want to say that football means the world to me and living in Ipswich I am lucky to have Ipswich Town as my local team due to them employing me from 2005 to 2019 and giving me 14 of the most happiest years as an employee. I was lucky enough during my shift to watch Ipswich play and take in 20 minutes in the first half and sometimes 10 at the end and I miss football live, I really do. The passion and excitement.

My first love is Newcastle United and I love Newcastle. I know we share some heroes such as Sir Bobby Robson, Jackie Milburn, Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble and Darren Ambrose.

I just wanted to say that mental health for men and woman during this pandemic is starting to get worse due to isolation and the feeling that you have to keep yourself positive.

It is okay not to be okay and it is okay to reach out when you need a helping hand. This song is helping me at the moment:
Carole King, You've Got A Friend

I am always a private message away if you need any well being help.

Help regarding neighbours and facing problems
at 18:13 4 Oct 2020

Hello there, I was wondering if anyone ever had experienced any problems with their neighbours which required police intervention. I suffer from bipolar and I live in Ipswich. I have suffered a lot of verbal abuse since lockdown but reside at home with family and live in housing association accommodation. I just wondered if anyone knew of anybody please or organisations who could act as a voice or support. Be greatly appreciated. Thank you
