Hutchinson piece in The Athletic
at 09:45 16 Nov 2023

Really interesting read and yet another example of McKenna's outstanding coaching ability.

One thing that bothered me about the article though:

"The now 20-year-old was actually released twice by Chelsea as a kid, then played at Charlton Athletic, an EFL club in south east London"

Have Charlton really fallen so far from grace that somebody reading an article about a Championship player needs reminding of who Charlton are?

Get that The Athletic has a global audience, but a Prem team in the not-so-distant past should be known by most readers.

Knocking on the door

Humphreys seems to have a lot of similar attributes to Leif and his perhaps lack of physical presence currently makes him more suited to the LB role, given it is as much about getting forward as it is defending.

Based off the Fulham game, I'd rather see Cam as the deputy to Leif than Clarke (he's not starting ahead of arguably our best player though).

Would be interested to know if Kieran and the coaching staff are focussing his training on the LB role.

Harness probably the most likely starter but would be in place of Chappers and I feel Harness is more suited to being introduced ~60 minutes against the tired legs.

Much like most of the clubs in the top two tiers of English football. Admittedly it will probably require considerable change before we win another one.

Do we hold the record
at 10:11 6 Dec 2017

This kind of consistency/longevity sums us up perfectly.

I prefer to see this as a good thing. I like that we are one of the few clubs in the championship/prem holding onto some of the traditions of the game.
We have a proper football ground, we still give our managers time, we spend within our means and look to bring through our youth. We're not ditching our traditions for a bit of money.

It may be boring at times but it gives us a solid platform should we finally make it out of this league.

Ahh Champs.

I went through a period of boycotting that place when I was at uni as they refused to put an Ipswich game on one of their screens. Apparently, the prem and some northern egg chasing were a more attractive proposition.

Newcastle ticket promotion
at 13:07 27 Mar 2017

Any ST holder willing to help me out with a couple of £10 tickets for the Newcastle game?

Happy to pay £15 for each ticket so we both get a cheaper day out.
