I do love it BUT I wish the 67/68 side could have got some acknowledgement and love. That was the side that got us promoted, as champions, back to the top flight where we stayed for the next 16 years. Seems that that side is always forgotten. |

We are constantly hearing about the great youngsters we have at this club. we have been hearing this for the last 20 years. With very few exceptions, this has proved false. It is a fairy tale to give false hope to long suffering supporters. Our scouting is crap, our recruitment is worse, and our youth system is not providing the goods. We need drastic changes at all levels. |

Great blog thanks, really enjoyed it and the memories it bought back. This team was my first Ipswich team and I still remember them all vividly. One correction though, John O’Rourke did have his song, the same one used for Johnny Wark a few years later. |

Great post thanks. I well remember Mick McNeil, really classy and imposing defender with the most horribly scarred knees due to several cartilage operations I think. Remember Mick Hill very well too, especially the goal he scored against Liverpool at home to give us a 1-0 win. That was a rare time we were on MOTD as well. I saw Steve Stacey too! |

Great blog Sindre and please ignore the idiots, you are as much a part of ITFC as anyone else. I have been a supporter since the mid 60's and am really glad to hear of supporters from your part of the world. Scandinavia has always had a lot of Ipswich supporters and remember in the 70's they were often coming to Portman Road but that was when we were one of the best teams in the country.
