US Youngster on Trial
at 15:24:50

el_nino - I have read that long, rambling news article. Devann seemed diffident when I chatted to him at the training ground on Thursday. To be here suggests he is keen but his CV is so patchy and his manner rather disengaged - he would have to be one hell of a player to make an impression; I saw him doing physical training, not demonstrating skills, so I cannot judge his ability. He looked 'cool'.

Cardiff Linked With Garvan Move
at 00:45:01

Have to say, Owen Garvan didn't look as if he was off with either the Fairies or the U21s, at training this morning...

And I made him laugh, the first time I have ever seen him do so.

Rosenior Joining Town On Loan
at 08:53:18

David Wright was our third best player, last season. Like Roy, I saw him skinned by Boyd at Posh, but Boyd is a very good player and would have eaten Bruce alive. At least Wright holds his position, unlike our Temporary Skipper when he plays full-back.

I have said before that our best left-back is Wright. The greatest left-back of all, Terry Cooper of Dirty Leeds, was right footed.

The swap with Rosenior is nonsensical. Are Reading telling themselves they are getting rid of That Rubbishy Rosenior? This is just musical chairs of the purest kind. Robson signed one player per year!

Smith On Target as Reserves Defeat Peterborough
at 20:12:33

Pablo indeed brings very much needed flashes of class into every match in which he plays at home. He hardly shone today but he wasn't alone. We desperately need to change the first team so Pablo should play a part v WBA and so should Upson. Smith? He is not really ready for the first team. But nor are the first team!
Ainslie was captain, from right back, in answer to a question above.
And, yes, why not try Shane O'Connor at left back. He meets the main criterium; he was born in Cork. He is young and short and eager, similar in so many ways to the late Billy Clarke.
