He also covered matches for The Times as well as Anglia TV, doubling up for so many of our midweek away games in Europe. I know that he loved those trips and the friendship and forever memories that came from them.

No surprise at all that he is a target or potential target for established as well as top PL sides, as he offers an extra attacking dimension on the left from deep, when the defence can cover the opposition's attacking threats, if any. He does that extremely well. He is not the world's best at defending to put it mildly, and as such I'm not sure he is what we need right now. Harsh, maybe, as he is such a part of the journey we have been on. But right now I feel we need more pragmatism, less expansiveness, if we are to get established in the top flight. That's the lesson I believe I have learned from that searing season. |

If the associations can co-operate to this extent then the UK ones will be able to merge permanently and field one international team for the UK and of course, one for Ireland. Too many opportunities have been lost over many years to win a major trophies, and the best players have been split across four teams. |

The assessment by our coaching and development staff must be that he will struggle to get to top half Championship level, otherwise we should be developing him ourselves and soon including him in matchday first team squads. I for one wish him well towards proving them wrong. |

RIP Trev. Condolences to the family. I too was at the West Brom game but my first experience of a Whymark goal came earlier when I was on the West Stand terrace without a milk crate. An older fan realised I had not seen Trev's goal and described it to me, a glancing header. |
