Wickham has great potential, that is it. Apart from the individual effort against sheffield united & a handful of league goals he's been as disappointing as any Ipswich player this season. (excluding McAuley & Bullard) His size and strength have got him this far. Both managers he has played under seem to love him and recently he's been one of the first names on the team sheet. His assured place in the starting 11 is helped by the fact that his only competition is the under-performing Priskin & Scotland. Give any one of the promising youthful reserve team this much hype, first-team loyalty & media attention and we could have a team of 'connor wickhams'. |

he is probably a better keeper than brian murphy. If you are a manager you always have to look for the right deal at the right time. Brian murhpy was a good, cheap signing - and probably on low wages. & did a good job for us last season. But if a better player becomes available, for a small (ish) fee - sign them up! Keane is slowly trying to improve the quality of players in the squad. And what harm can having two good goalkeepers battling to be first choice? Fulop, Murphy & Lee Barrett. Start from the back Keane and work your way through the team... |

Another two goals surely enough to see him get at least half an hour on Sunday? We do need an attacking midfielder... As for the picture- surely there's a better one from the first team games? |

Interesting game in regards to who to keep and who to sell/release. I think Pablo still has something to offer, although i still think we need two new strikers. Murphy & Healy just haven't done enough to justify a transfer. Pablo is one of most skilful players and has probably scored our best goal of the season - the winner at home to coventry. Martin showed a lot of energy up front, but should have scored 3. He had enough chances but he can't finish..but maybe it's just a confidence thing. On this performance I think he should be kept and see how he does next season in the reserves and try and push for a first team place. Probably on the right or left wing. The younger players again showed class and ability, watching the match you couldn't tell the difference between players who were on £8,000 a week or £80. Quinn has to go. I think Clark, Hyam & Eastman should be in the squads for the last two games-for experience at least. Clark is an attacking creative midfield player with great technique. Are there any good attacking midfielders in the squad? Hyam is a Keane style DM who is strong and can tackle, And Eastman is McAuley mark two- a solid no nonsense centre back. If they can keep it up I think they have futures at the club. |

ITFCAlex, I think he is more of an attacking midfield player. Although I have seen him play all across the midfield. I think his best position is through the middle, playing just behind the strikers. I think he and a few other youngsters, should definitely be involved in the last two games - ahead of the likes of Quinn, Rosenior, Martin etc. Another 2 goals tonight in the reserve cup game will only help his chances.. |

KEEP: EASTMAN HYAM CLARK RELEASE: YAO - not good enough AINSLEY - not good enough WRIGHT - on too much money for a second choice keeper LAMBE - not good enough, had his chance with his one year contract and much like Ainsley not really progressed enough or shown that he has true potential to become a decent player |
| News Comment | U18s Lose at Reading at 23:26:25
I was at the game today and we didnt deserve to lose the game, although no star performer. Tom Eastman and Billy Clark were again probably the pick of the players. Clark's free-kick showed the player's obvious technical abilty. McLoughlin didn't have the best of games, and was at fault for at least 2 of the Reading goals. All in all not a bad result, considering we were missing a few regulars. |

Thought the boys played well tonight, in a game that could of swung either way. Billy Clark was again impressive, with strong tackling and defense splitting thorough balls-a quality forward thinking midfiled player. Other stand out players were Luke Hyam and Tom Eastman & Seb Dunbar. Much is expected of Connor Wickham at a young age-not sure he lived up to the hype tonight but again a good prospect for the future. |
