Do you ever question why you don’t see what the issues with racist or sexist comments, yet others do? Maybe it’s not the state of the world that’s the issue. |

What are your reasons for not liking them? They’ve often had a few ex-town players, which is why I don’t mind them doing well. See Teddy Bishop is playing for them this season. |

I quite enjoyed stating that Declan rice is a poor man’s Kalvin Phillips. The Arsenal fans were very quiet, which does make it more challenging to create an atmosphere as it’s better if there’s more back and forth. Although I agree with the original post that the champions of Europe didn’t really make sense. A few around me were saying the same at the time. |

I do wonder if McKenna feels that Morsy and Phillips together doesn’t give us the right balance in the double pivot. Therefore it’s one or the other. That would mean he hasn’t fallen behind cajuste or Taylor, it’s more one of those will take one position and Morsy/Phillips the other. I wouldn’t be surprised if Phillips next comes in when Morsy gets his suspension, or instead of him for one of the Arsenal/Chelsea games. |

In the Tottenham game we had two decisions go in our favour. The first was when VAR intervened to disallow Solanke’s goal for handball. The second was VAR reviewing a possible handball against Davis and deciding it was not a penalty. I haven’t seen Bournemouth’s penalty appeal in the first half back (from which they hit the post from).VAR didn’t intervene although Bournemouth thought it was a penalty. |

I feel you, and some others, may be missing the issue. The arguments seem to be focusing on people from lower bandings having the chance to get a point, to move up the bandings. What would stop those individuals from doing the same thing, and buying a ticket just for the point? If you don’t get points for cup games then only the people who actually want to see the game will go. The original post was someone frustrated as they wanted to go to the game against Wimbledon, not wanting to go just to improve their chance of going to other games later in the season. I was there last night and I’d say the fairest thing is probably to take away the point for everyone from that fixture. Those of us who turned up (hopefully) don’t do it for the point but to see the game, and will have enough points anyway hence getting a ticket. Those that didn’t have gained no advantage for trying to manipulate the system and have simply wasted £15. Whilst those of us there may feel it’s unfair, that’s the fault of the people trying to cheat the system. |

I saw quite a few people with half and half scarves. One guy had an Ipswich scarf and a Liverpool scarf, maybe hedging his bets. Who buys half and half scarves?! I could only assume they weren’t proper fans! Edit: Ignore, seen there’s already a thread about this and some actual fans do seem to be buying them, game’s gone! [Post edited 18 Aug 2024 12:40]

Whilst one result doesn’t define a season, when the dust settles you can see the turning points. A little like last season, and knowing how significant QPR 4-0 Leeds was. I still believe considering our form at the end of 22/23 we would have won the play-offs, but it’s never guaranteed. Just takes one bad performance. Weirdly, this result benefitted us, Plymouth and Wednesday. Without this result, that incredible game against Peterborough in the play-offs might not happen. |

Ha, no offence taken! Only did it for a random Sporcle badge, and thought a couple of people may fancy trying it. |

See what you mean. Tried to edit it but not working for some reason. So let’s say that ‘playing’ means they were named in a match day squad! |
